Good first encounter with the owner for an estimate. The team of guys who installed were definitely hard workers. Minor hiccups with the spectrum and dog fence line being cut despite them being marked but both repaired the same day. My only recommendation would be that the owner personally follow up after the job is installed ... it'd go a long way. Hopefully this constructive feedback is good. We had just spread a large amount of topsoil and re-seeded a major part of our yard and were all set to turn the sprinklers on to water when we realized we had punctured a line during our initial landscaping prep for the re-seeding. My husband called and left a message with Pro-Tech and within an hour Jennifer and Jenn were back on the line with him trying to assist. They explained that this was the busiest part of their season and it would be another 10 days before they could get out, but if my husband was willing to "get dirty", they could talk him through the repair himself and get him the parts needed. My husband had already managed to dig up the line and found the source of the problem and so Dave and Jenn most graciously offered to help him do the repair himself. They went above and beyond what most service organizations would do and seemed to really care that we were in a predicament. These guys really went the extra mile! They did a wonderful job with the sprinklers and left our yard better than they found it. I went our and looked and I could not even tell where they had to dig up the grass. They even seeded the small areas around the new sprinkler heads! We've been a customer of Pro-Tech Lawn Sprinklers for over 20 years. The staff are courteous, professional and trustworthy. A recent experience demonstrated why we wouldn't go anywhere else for our irrigation needs. One zone had a severe reduction in water pressure. It was unclear what the reason was. We were afraid it was due to two trees being removed from that zone which would result in an expensive repair. Tim arrived on time and went right to work. The reason for the appointment was to provide an estimate on the repair. Instead of an estimate, Tim quickly located a leak in the line. Within minutes he replaced the section of line that was damaged by roots. In less than 1 hour the repair had been made, he addressed another sprinkler head that required replacement and reset all the heads in that zone. I rarely post reviews but, in this case, a 5-star review is well deserved. Tim and the entire staff provide superior service! read more

I am terribly disappointed with this company. I had used them for the past three years at home and on commercial projects for my residential contracting business. They were typically competent, hence the second star, but they were absolutely awful to deal with. I understand this is a seasonal business, but that does not mean that the owner should talk to people the way he does. From the start I felt that I was a burden to them, and that they were doing me a favor by hiring them. I raised the concern that for the second year in a row, I would have to shell out $300-$700 for a repair on my 15-20 year old system. I bought the house two years ago. After purchase, I promptly had ProTech come out and tell me it was in good shape and rather than spend $4,000 to replace it, I could repair it and it would work well. Maybe there would be a head or two to replace each year. So, I spent $700 on updates that did not get completed for weeks. Again, their scheduling was very difficult and they would not show up when it was convenient for me. In the end, they continued to overbill me for charges that weren't even accurate. Even after all this, I still called them back because I thought they weren't "that bad". Now, I have drawn the line. I do not understand how an owner of a company could be so rude and not willing to listen to what his customer had to say. Todd is a bully, and he showed that to me today. He was condescending to the point that he told me that he didn't think $700 was a lot to spend each year on irrigation repairs. I told him that I could not believe he would say this to a customer of his, or at least someone who was a customer of his, and then he told me I could "go off and find another irrigation company". Let me start of by saying I have never used Pro-Tech before this latest service call. They came in on time, and fixed the issue with my Sprinkler system the first time. I am now a huge fan of the service and support staff at Pro-Tech. I recently had some repairs and adjustments that needed to be made. The technician who serviced my system was outstanding. I spent the entire Spring and Summer 2018 season trying to get various sprinkler companies in this area to either call me back or just show up when they said they would. Somehow I found my way down the alphabet to this company. They are awesome. They make an appointment, they show up for the appointment at the right time and the best...they actually know what they are doing. They took over where the last company, who installed and maintained my system, left off. Promise without delivery. Talk and no action. I confirm there is a lack of professionalism in the ownership. The work that was done, works. They did what they promised. They forgot to tell me a few things and that got them into trouble with the Town. Scheduling was hell. Water under the bridge until today. Bad service, rude employees. I used to use them for basic opening and closing of my residential sprinkler system, but this summer I needed more extensive work done. I called them, they didn't show up when they said they would, and when they did show up, they didn't have the right equipment for the job and had to reschedule, again, causing a few weeks of delay to my backyard project. When they finally came with the right equipment, they caused damage to the sprinkler system, and didn't install the new heads correctly. I ended up having to call another company to come in and fix their mistakes. This company is ok for just simple opening and closing for the season (which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1, although the employees who show up are still rude), but go somewhere else if you need anything more. read more
