Sashimi Combo Deluxe on a boat Samurai Baked Roll, & LAFC Specialty Roll.
Fredy R.

Been wanting to come since i live nearby. Very convenient if you want sushi and/or last minute and don't want to make a drive to your go-to. Love that it's family oriented. They are all very helpful and happy to see you there! The sushi & sashimi tasted fresh. Compared to other mom & pop huts i've gone to for lunches, this one is solid. No alcohol since there are schools in the area. Place is small but feels spacious. Honestly feels cool to have a sushi spot in the hood. Be humble! Support your locals

Amazing food and service!! We loved everthing we ordered but the vegetable tempura woww!!

Salmon skin roll

My daughter and I stopped by because she wanted sushi. Her favorite fish is salmon. I saw they had good reviews on Google. We got the deluxe combo, rainbow roll, and salmon skin roll. I heard they had GOOD portions and the reviews were right. The salmon peices are large. The tekka maki (tuna) was also really big. The salmon skin roll was probably the biggest hand roll I've ever had. Although I like my salmon skin roll more crunchy and this wasn't very crunchy, I still enjoyed it very much. The fried ice cream was good although it had a little more breading than I would have liked. The service was really good. Johan was really attentive and took really good care of us. The dynamite sauce has a kick to it and the owner was nice enough to share she adds habanero to add the heat. This is a great family run restaurant. I would definitely stop by again. Support small business!

This place is a gem! I went there about 2 weeks ago and I was surprised how good the sushi was and service. It's a family owned place in an unusual location but it was amazing. I was skeptical at first because I usually go for sushi to lLittle Tokyo but this place is near by my boyfriend's house and he had checked it out a week prior and told me it was good. The ambiance was great and the family was very attentive. A must try the avocado boom appetizer soooo good! If you are in the area please give this place a try!

Never seen a sushi place with 5 stars on both Google and Yelp. Totally delivered and I now understand. Yes, it's deep in LA, but to find a gem like this that would excel in OC or big cities on Compton Blvd.. Amazing. Service was on point, Frank was engaging and made sure we had the best experience. Diamond in the rough doesn't give it justice..

Came in after loving a DoorDash order that I did a few weeks ago. So so good, fresh sushi and great price. The Tuna and Salmon are so soft, melt in your mouth. Parking is tough at night but street parking is available near.

A Hidden Gem with Heart and Flavor! Just pulled up to Traviesushi for the second time and man... this spot does not disappoint. Their menu is massive, so I decided to explore a bit and ordered the "Ceromiedo" roll -- fire. Also got a tekka hand roll and a crispy California roll for the kids. It was their first intro to sushi, and it was a hit! They're officially on the sushi train now. My oldest went with the nabeyaki udon -- huge portion and packed with flavor. She couldn't finish it, but the staff was super sweet and packed it up for us with care. For dessert? Tempura ice cream. I don't even gotta say much... just trust -- it was delicious. But the real standout wasn't just the food -- it was the heart behind it. The owner personally came over to check on us, and we had one of those rare, genuine conversations you don't expect when you're out to eat. He shared how he opened this place for the community -- a community he's lived in for many years and still calls home. He didn't just want to serve sushi, he wanted to bring something meaningful to the neighborhood. Something created with love, for the people around him. That kind of purpose? You can feel it in the energy. You can taste it in the food. You see it in how the staff treats you like family. Traviesushi isn't just a spot to grab sushi -- it's a place built with intention, heart, and a whole lot of love for the community. If you're anywhere near Watts, this is the kind of local gem that deserves to be supported and celebrated. Spots like this should be packed -- not just because the food is good, but because the mission behind it is even better.

I had a great experience here! I always order online but today was the first time I dined in. The service was amazing, you can really tell it's a family-owned spot because they make you feel so welcome from the moment you walk in. Everyone was kind, attentive, and accommodating to anything I asked for. The sushi was 10 out of 10, very fresh, beautifully prepared, and honestly the best I've had in the area. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your food, and feel genuinely appreciated as a customer. If you love great sushi and friendly service, this is definitely the place to go. I'll 100% be coming back soon!

I got the seafood udon and my husband got the salmon California roll.

Came here for a quick quick bite to eat with my husband and we enjoyed a very delicious meal. He got the salmon California rolls and I got the seafood udon. Miguel was very kind and helpful. Service was very prompt. Customer service was amazing. The Broth is one of the best ones that I've ever tasted in the seafood soup literally gave me life. It was so delicious and healthy. One bowl is enough for three servings for me so I definitely took the rest to go, Whenever I'm hungry and in the area I will definitely be stopping by to try some more amazing food and desserts. I'm glad that I saw this on Instagram.

This place was really good, it won't disappoint. Everything made immaculate. Service was great, and cordial on time. But most definitely had a lot of flavor, nothing really negative to say about the place

Some of the best food and service I've had at a restaurant. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and presented with a menu, which had a ton of options that all looked equally tasty, so it was a tough choice for my partner and i. In the end, we went with the California and lobster rolls, which were sooooo good. The ambiance was nice as well, but where this place truly shines is in its service. Everybody was very attentive and it truly showed that they cared about our experience, so much so that we even got free ice cream for being first-time customers! If you live in the Florence-Firestone area or beyond and want somewhere to just eat and hang out, this is the place.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

When I made reservations on the phone I asked about the latest reservation and confirmed 10 pm - however I asked if I could sit at the bar and they said not at that time since they closed at 11. When we arrived, there was a couple coming in at 10 and sat at bar...maybe just miscommunication but tha could have prevented us from consuming our food quick and skipping on alcohol since the table we got was not the best. Sushi felt very fresh and there's something about the way they make the rolls that feels different about other places (not sure if in a good way) Great staff and sushi chefs- they were super fast moving from one course to the next one.

While the fish quality here is great, you will get more bites that seem a lot more experimental with flavors and garnishes. I didn't like every single bite but I expected that. A lot more focus on creative cocktails and drink pairings instead of just sake or wine. This is a great place to try Japanese whiskey, they even have little lockers where regular patrons can store their expensive bottles they've bought for when they return, and you are welcome to grab an additional drink and chill in the space afterwards if you'd like. The chefs here were a lot more personable and fun with more of a bar vibe than a traditional omakase. Service was great, dedicated bartender was great, and though it's not the best sushi I've ever tasted, I would still bring someone back here for a unique experience. Brought my friend here for her bday and we left full and happy and a little drunk so I'd say it was a successful night!

Such a shame because otherwise it would have been a great experience. But I cannot excuse them for allowing these other guys to just behave so rudely, like Neanderthal, and not say a thing.

It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy your meal, and have a good conversation. The food was consistently good. Service was another highlight--easygoing, attentive in a subtle way, and never intrusive. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that a few dishes didn't quite have that "wow" factor.
