Zero stars if possible!!! Went to China Bowl in South Gate and apparently our food came with a complimentary side of Laura's attitude. The food was one thing, but the service was the real disappointment. Laura was extremely unpleasant and had a terrible attitude, especially toward my wife. There's absolutely no reason to treat customers that way. We came in hungry and ready to enjoy some food--not audition for an episode of Survivor: Customer Service Edition. Hopefully management can remind the staff that being respectful and welcoming goes a long way. We'll spend our money somewhere we actually feel appreciated next time!!! read more

Food was absolutely disgusting. Teriyaki Chicken was the only thing that was edible. Chicken egg roll was horrible. Can't taste anything but oil and has a bad smell to it. Would not recommend eating here. 1/10 for me. read more

China Bowl - Chicken egg roll was horrible. Can't taste anything but oil and has a bad smell to it. Would not recommend eating here. 1/10 for me. - Chinese Near Me - South Gate, California

Tried it for a second time since I don't remember it the first time I ordered it. Must say some of these reviews looked bad but my plate wasn't oily as people have said. The noodles were great beef and broccoli tasted and looked fresh not like some places that looks like it's been sitting for days. Bbq pork looked different guess it was just how they do their cut. Loved that they give you the whole mushroom instead of it being sliced Must say the wontons were on the smaller side. Would I order again.......yes read more

My second visit to this establishment, and I ordered a plate for my kids and I to share cause they give a generous amount of food. Old bald not-so- gentleman got all mad that I asked for two plates on the side so I could scoop some chowmein on there for my kids. Will not be coming back. read more

Great food! Warm and Pleasant employees. Nice atmosphere, clean. I usually order the Steak Ala Steak, the boneless almonds chicken and the chicken fried rice and trust me these dishes are excellent! Prices are very reasonable. read more

The food here is delicious and the portions are always very generous, but the lady who typically serves the food yelled at my boyfriend because of a misunderstanding with ordering. He was calmly trying to explain the misunderstanding (he wanted a lunch plate for $10, but she served him orange chicken entrees for $30), but she caused a scene and he left feeling a bit upset. He used to love coming here as much as I do, but he told me he doesn't feel comfortable coming anymore after her outburst. He said he felt like it was a language barrier issue (my boyfriend is Chinese-American so he was being extra patient), but she took it to a whole other level. Maybe she was having a bad day? However, that's NOT okay or an excuse for disrespectful behavior, and no one has the right to start screaming like a banshee at someone else just because of that. I love coming here whether for Chinese food, Hawaiian food, or boba, but I won't be back for a while if ever because I don't appreciate someone giving my boyfriend attitude for an easy fix when she is the one who made the mistake to begin with. Customer service needs serious work. If it is fixed then we may come back, but Golden Palace is where we will go from now on instead. read more

As always you gotta appreciate this place for what it is. It's fast Chinese food but it is pretty good. The only complaints I have is that the chow mein could have tasted a bit less squishy but it still tasted good. The boba could have also been softer. I still would come back to this place. read more

Absolutely love the jalapeńo chicken & chow mein. The portions are huge and very generous, they are not like other places where they count the portions. Every time I go there is always a line, that tells you how good it is. It looks like a hole in the wall, but I'm so glad I tried it. Definitely became a regular. read more

Everyone out here wanting a Benihana's plate from A decent Chinese place lol Spoiled people I swear anyways this place is legit. The food is good and the servings is off the charts. They stack your plate with food and it's cheap. Service is fast and friendly I recommend this spot you won't be disappointed. read more

Older lady serving my family and I was very rude I will not be retuning here again and has a B

Probably the best Chinese in town. Been going for years now. Service is great and way better than Panda down the street. Definitely try their orange chicken and Kung pao shrimp. I usually get boba with my meal. So good. And so cheap! read more

Good place if you want it to go. We dined in this place today and it was horrible. The siracha is mixed with this other liquid which makes it runny which is just horrible we. The Chile that they have which is tapatío is just awful the color is wrong, it's mixed in with something else aswell it's like a brown color and watery too. Now a rating on the food. The spicy orange chicken is not spicy first of all, second when you take a bite it's just all breading like what type of sh*t is this, there's the name chicken in there but where is the chicken when you take a bite. The chow mein is just horrible. It has no seasoning no where. It's taste blank. The bbq pork has so much fatting it's just grate like I didn't ask for bbq fat . This place is just horrible I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

Best Chinese food ever me, my mom and sister always go there were never disappointed service is fantastic food tatse amazing I would recommend coming and trying this Chinese food place read more

This place will do but I would avoid unless there isn't anything else near by. The noodles are salty, the rice is dry and salty, they have a lot of chicken dishes. No pork of any kind and only beef option is beef broccoli. The spicy orange chicken isn't spicy. The mushroom chicken is very good. The service was average for a Chinese fast food spot. read more

This place is great, been coming here for years, plus it's the only place I know that has spicy orange chicken!

I have never been more insulted in my life. The Kum Pow chicken was old and tasted like it. The chow main had hardly any veggies, and was aslo bland. The eggrolls had sat there for so long they were sogy. I paid way too much for innedible food. read more

Must of gone on a bad day because it was terrible. The only decent part were the noodles. The orange chicken was the worst I've tried. The rice had no flavor. Terri bowl was too small for the price. I live 2 minutes from it but I rather walk 20 minutes to buy it from my usual place. read more

I must agree with Pablo L, the only decent thing was the noodles . I was in the area and was graving chinese food , so i jumped in on yelp to see what was good around south gate , i was happy with the hype but not sure what with when wrong . im pretty sure the older couple are nice people but they seem like they had no emotions , back to the food , was hoping for the best , but unfortunately was not good , i immediately had the Bubblies and had to stop at the nearest bathroom . read more

Food is great, but I'm giving 3 star's just for the service is average not the best humble experience

Hands down the best Chinese fast food that I have ever had. Ive been there a couple of times now and the food is seriously pretty fresh. Their pricing is really fair for the amount and quality of their food. If your in the mood for chinese food, i recommend this place, its delicious! read more

I'm not a big fan of fast food type chinese food, however I would eat at this place if I am in the mood for chinese. The food is good, clean place. The owner is always attentive. One thing I do love is their BOBA drinks. If you want to stay local this place is worth it. read more

Lots of chicken dishes, the spicy chicken tastes like regular orange chicken Service us less than par. Server behind glass was hard to understand and didn't seem to want to behind asked what dishes he had to offer. He apparently didnt want our business that bad. So here's the scoop; Fried rice looked old and begging to be put out of its misery. They try passing tempura off as FRIED NEST OF FRENCH FRIES with peas and carrots!? No thank you.Another made up dish (at least it appears) is potato chicken. Not appetizing and being Hispanic, we don't even call our own meat with potatoes that. Not a whole lot of choices. Portion size is nothing to be impressed about. He put 3 items in one container and this was for 2 people. Nothing to rave to momma about?! Tried mushroom chicken with orange chicken and spicy chicken....sighh..Really not many other choices except crispy hot lamp eggrolls and tempura. YIKES! FOOD is average, atmosphere not that inviting but presentable, but service and food presentation knocked this one down a star. Shop around people. This is Not the place for great food. read more
