This Travelex is a shoebox of a store located along Queen St, at the base of the Myer Centre. I drop by here every time I need a cash passport for when I'm travelling overseas, and the process is quick and painless.
The store itself is incredibly small though; if there are more than two customers in there it can become extremely cramped. I learnt this the hard way when a man came in during his lunch break, was extremely gassy, and had to vacate the premises to relieve himself lest we all--the two staff members behind the counter and the other customer and I--be gassed to death.
If you're looking to get a more obscure currency exchanged, make sure you go at least a week beforehand because chances are you may need to order it in. I ordered some Japanese yen and had to wait about a week. There's also an ATM located outside the store that takes most cards, including international cash cards. read more
