    Lasagna Al Forno

We stopped by here because my friend said she was reading some good reviews about this place. I tried the Bruschetta. It was yummy and the bread was soft with a small crunch. It is super rare that I order a lasagna but this one was different. They don't use ricotta cheese! WOO HOO! Yea. I'm not a huge fan of ricotta. Anyways. I ordered the Lasagna Al Forno. I LOVED it! I also LOVED the portion too! It wasn't a huge square. It was about 75% of the regular size you normally see. I was fine with it cause normally I would have a ton of leftovers. I didn't want leftovers cause my sister inlaw and I were going across the street for dessert and had to save a bit of room. :)

My bf had been wanting to try this Italian restaurant out for a while now. We have walked by it many times and it looks cute from the outside. We thought it would be a hidden gem. We were wrong. I was already a little apprehensive about eating here as the recent yelp reviews were not the best and the people walking out after they had eaten said it wasnt the best. We started off by asking our waiter for some bread and ordered the melon/prosciutto as an app. The prosciutto came out dry and the melon was cut in thick chunks. Definitely did not taste fresh We ordered pasta with red sauce and it tasted worse than canned sauce. I was really disappointed with the taste of the food because we thought it was going to taste fresh. I will not be coming back

A small restaurant on the Main Street on Balboa Island. We went there for dinner during the week and had no problem finding a table. It was not crowded. I ordered veal scaloppine. I enjoyed the meal. it came with potatoes and vegetables. The vegetables were very good. I did get a chance to taste my friends Carbonara, which too be honest I enjoyed more than my dish. If I went back I would get the Carbonara. I also had a Caesar salad which was fine but nothing special.

This is a hidden gem! If you haven't eaten here, I highly recommend it! I've been a handful of times and my friend who lives nearby goes weekly! This restaurant takes you away to little Italy with a classy ambiance for a date night or a friend or solo. The food is superb!! The owner is hard working and shows he cares about his customers. Can't wait to go back until I've tried it all. thank me later/ u will love it!

The ambience of this restaurant is very cozy and romantic, perfect for a date night! The service was amazing, everything came out in a timely manner and the server was very kind. The food was exquisite, I ordered the farfelle salmone and it was rich with flavor and very filling. My boyfriend ordered the fettuccine carbonara and it was one of the best carbanara's I have ever tasted!

Garlic bread 6/10 Caprese salad 6/10 Iced tea 9/10 Fettuccine Alfredo 2/10 Chicken Marsala 7/10 Hours of operation 1/10 Seating 1/10 We've been waiting to try this place for a while. The issue we had was every time we would come here, they were closed. The hours are on Yelp and on their website. We would call when it was the "open hours," and they would tell us they were CLOSED. We have walked over to this place at 1:30pm and it was CLOSED. When they are supposed to be open until 3pm. So, the hours of operation are confusing and appear to change on a whim. How do you run a business like this? Very unprofessional when customers never know when the restaurant is open. The dine-in experience was not good. The chairs are hard wood with no padding. My chair was uneven and rocked back and forth. There is not air-conditioning, so it got hot inside. The better seats might be the "patio" area, so you at least get a breeze. Seating is cramped. The restaurant is TINY. Seriously, I have wide hips and had a hard time walking in and out of the restaurant without bumping into chairs. On to the food. If the hours of operation and the cramped seating wasn't enough. The food added to disappointment. We started off with appetizers; garlic bread and caprese salad. The garlic bread was sort of bland tasting. The weakest garlic bread I've had. Where is the butter flavor? It was super basic garlic bread. I think I could have made better garlic bread at home. The caprese salad was good, but the tomatoes were wayyy too thick. I mean the tomato over-powered the mozzarella cheese. It didn't have good balance of all the flavors. Chicken marsala was alright my partner said. And my fettuccine alfredo was very disappointing. The alfredo sauce wasn't thick and creamy the way I like it. It didn't have a cheesy, buttery, depth to it with garlic. It was watery, runny alfredo sauce with basic flavor. Tasted like plain noodles with diluted alfredo sauce (something you would serve from the kid's menu). Never going back here. There are far too many great Italian places to eat at in Orange County. Makes this place look like a joke.

My go-to order is the chicken Cornish, and I always substitute the rice for zereshk polo. The rice is perfectly fluffy every time, and the barberries add the most delicious tang that just brings the whole dish together. It's seriously so good. They're also incredibly generous with their lavash bread, which I love because it pairs perfectly with everything. But what really makes this place special is the service. Everyone here is genuinely so kind and attentive, and I mean everyone. You're always greeted when you walk in and again when you leave, which just makes the whole experience feel so warm and welcoming. There's also an older gentleman who is always there with the biggest smile, checking in to make sure everything is perfect, and it never goes unnoticed. I also love that it's pet-friendly. The outdoor seating area with the turf is such a nice touch, and my dog absolutely loves it. Overall, this place is a 10/10 with 1000/10 service. I have no clue what you are talking about with your "blackmail" comment, but that's a pretty big accusation that has nothing to do with me, so I would be very careful with that. I didn't agree with the service charge or entertainment charge or whatever you want to call it, but paid it and am not disputing anything. 2. Exactly which part of my review is inaccurate? The amount of time we had to wait? I can prove it took that long. The fact that you didn't bring out food for two of the people in our party even after waiting THAT ridiculous amount of time for our food? Um... can prove that too. That you felt this weird need after I already told you that I got your explanation to keep coming at me with your excuses? I have witnesses for that. Nothing "inaccurate" about my review. 3. I gave you that the food was delicious. It was. It was better before and I don't know what happened from that time to now, but regardless it was still delicious. HOWEVER... it was sour and mushy by the next day. My husband ate some and ended up sick from it. I wasn't going to mention that, but I guess I can now. 4. As a business owner, don't be so arrogant to think you are perfect and learn from the feedback your customers give you. As I stated, we loved the experience the first time. LOVED it... enough where we gave glowing and rave reviews of your place to friends and family and anyone that would listen. Enough that we drove all the way from San Diego up to the restaurant for dinner because it was THAT good. Take that feedback and try to figure out what went wrong and make changes to keep your restaurant successful.

We waited about 15 mins for someone to come and offer us menus or beverages but it seemed as though we had been forgotten. It felt like we were an inconvenience. My husband ended up calling over a waiter and asked if we could order as we had looked up the menu's online. Our waiter, George, was phenomenal! Super kind, apologetic and kept us updated throughout the night. He understood that we were not having the best experience, and was trying his best to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had a baby with us so we asked that we be seated away from any hookah, and they really honored that request and made sure nobody near us was smoking. The food was decent, well seasoned and tasty, but nothing mindblowing. Slow to arrive but it seemed like this evening in particular was just a new kind of busy for the restaurant. In any case, I think if you've got time to sit and chat and wait for food and service, you won't feel it as much, but we had a baby, and a group of hungry adults who felt every minute of the waiting. I'd probably come back on a weeknight and try it out again; hoping that we don't get forgotten about by our first waitress.

The pairing of the rich mole sauce and sweet potato puree takes the dish to an entirely different level, complementing each other effortlessly. Baklava Cheesecake: A creative and delicious twist on a classic. It took a minute to locate the restaurant and figure out parking, but once we arrived at the door, the experience was first-class from beginning to end. The hostess was charming and welcoming, the staff kept our waters filled and the table spotless, and our server, Juan, was outstanding. His knowledge of the menu, detailed descriptions, and personal recommendations made ordering easy and built our anticipation for every dish. We started by sharing the beet salad and Chicken Tinga Empanadas with the Gringo Killer Sauce. The beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, while the empanadas were packed with rich, savory flavor. The Gringo Killer Sauce added a bold kick that made them especially memorable. My wife ordered the wedge salad, my daughter chose the Grilled Octopus Al Pastor, and I had the 8 oz Picanha special. Every dish was exceptional. The octopus was a creative and flavorful take on al pastor, and the Picanha special was perfectly cooked, tender and was an absolute standout. Everything was so impressive that I sent my compliments to the chef and was fortunate enough to meet Chef Jackie personally. Then came dessert. Juan described a peach cobbler special that immediately had my mouth watering, while my daughter ordered the Espresso Crème Brûlée. Juan returned to our table with three plates and spoons and informed me that Chef Jackie has recommended her specialty. I did not argue, Chef knows best. She surprised me by sending out something different: a slice of Baklava Cheesecake accompanied by a scoop of house-made peach cobbler ice cream. Now, I have eaten some outstanding cheesecakes all around the world, but this Baklava Cheesecake was on an entirely different level. It was rich, layered, perfectly textured and flaky, and so unbelievably delicious that I nearly licked the plate clean. The house-made peach cobbler ice cream was equally impressive--light and creamy, yet captured the full peach cobbler flavor. The Espresso Crème Brûlée was also beautifully executed, with a crisp caramelized sugar shell and a deep, smooth coffee-flavored custard. My daughter ate half of hers before turning her attention to the cheesecake, and she does not even like cheesecake. That alone should tell you how special it was. I live three hours away, but I will absolutely be making the drive back. Lemon & Thyme delivers exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality, creative dishes, and the kind of personal service that turns a meal into a lasting memory. This is my new favorite restaurant!!! Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Lemon & Thyme. Ask for Juan, trust Chef Jackie, and do not leave without desert. Chef Jackie, Juan and the rest of the staff, thank you for the amazing experience!!!
