Let's start with Rose, she is such a beautiful soul with such positive energy that just radiated throughout the restaurant! Food is amazing and don't forget the service they are definitely an A+! Can't wait to come back!

Fabulous, authentic Italian food in Newport Beach down by the pier. Orange County, CA Indoor and patio seating available.

Was in a couple of nights for a soft reopening. Pastas were great! Lasagna, was the favorite. The fettuccine Alfredo was the most authentic I've had since working at an Italian restaurant in college...superb. Friendly staff, worth a stop. It's tucked away between Rockin' Baja and Stag, but can't miss the sign.

The service was friendly and attentive. Our server knew the menu well. The ambiance was not as great. The front is all open, which makes for a nice ambience, except that it was cold. The food was a disappointment. My husband had lobster ravioli. The pasta was too thick so it was very heavy. he usually has a good appetite, but he couldn't eat half of this dish. I had the seafood Farro, which had really good flavors. My problem with it was it seemed as though the muscles were cooked separately and then laid on top of the dish because they were cold. With all the great restaurants in the area, this one is a definite, no repeat.

They are open late and serve pepperoni pizza for $6. Pizza overall is not the best I've had but it's passable for waiting in line. The service was quick and they were pretty friendly but it was interesting how the guy at the takeout window seemed to really want a tip haha! People as a whole was a nice and the place was pretty chill. Would come to after a night out!

My friends and I stopped by Il Farro to get a drink at the bar before we walked around the area. Our lovely bartender, Shayla, knew her way around the drinks for sure! She recommended popular drinks and guided us towards what we would like based on what we told her. I got a Mango Margarita that was balanced perfectly in terms of tequila and mango flavor. It almost felt like it wasn't a cocktail at all, yet I still got the kick! I also tried one of the Whiskey drinks and might have to open my mind to whiskey now. The staff here are so lovely and make up the restaurants long-time legacy. Loved having conversations with anyone that we came across because that's how natural it felt in here! It's definitely a family felt restaurant and even customers can see that love. I can't wait to come back to try the dishes!

We came to this place on a Saturday night. We came to the takeout window to get some pizza and for $6, the slices are huge! The service was very quick and the people at the window were very nice. This is definitely a great place to go after a long night out, I loved the quick take out style ambiance. I would definitely come again for a late night food run.

Food was amazing, definitely a great spot when at the beach for lunch. Between three people we shared two appetizers & two lobster ravioli dishes & it was the perfect amount of food. Service was great as well & it wasn't too busy for a Monday afternoon.

Incredible service! Fernando was personable, professional, attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible birthday celebration! It was a packed Saturday night and we still received amazing service. Thank you, Fernando! We started off the night with some bread and an eggplant parm appetizer. The eggplant was amazing!! Our table shared a pizza that was delicious. Our group also ordered the ravioli, spaghetti, the monthly pasta special, chicken masala, spinach, and a Cesar salad with chicken. Everything was so good!! You should for sure go go Il Farro! Yummmmm!

Il Farro is and has been my favorite Italian ristorante for many years. I've been coming back with family, friends, work and birthday gatherings. We've been supporting this family-owned establishment back in 2015, but they've been here since 1993 and the food tastes incredibly fresh, authentic, and truly takes you back to southern Italy. Hospitality is always great, welcoming warm smiles and conversations, we always appreciate the ambience after a long day at the beach. Or, a slice of pizza late after closing if you're going around the Newport bars. Nonetheless, Il Farro has been a hidden gem and we can't wait to come back!!

Booked a 12:45 reservation on open table , showed up and the restaurant was closed!! Wasted $10 in parking, not sure why they would allow a reservation to be booked if they are not open

I am drawn to Ospi's Michelin twists where bold flavors are made possible with the least amount of ingredients. Every bite counts. The kale salad to start was the best decision. The finely chopped kale leaves paired beautifully with the well-thought-out dressing and cheese. The crispy provolone was crunchy and had a balanced taste of cheesiness. The copione pizza was paper-thin yet contained a robust flavor profile which I did not expect. The highlight of the already amazing meal was the mandilla pesto pasta. The electric green color of the almond-pine nut pesto sauce was extremely powerful, and it was the best-tasting pesto pasta I've ever had. The Italian meal felt complete, but I didn't feel overwhelmed with the amount of carbs. I love the friendly staff and patio seating!

The extraordinary thing about the Pasta Sisters is that they offer house made pastas, which guarantees a higher price point, but offers unparalleled texture. The spaghetti has a "bite" that you get from a true "al dente" pasta. Their cheese tortellini were incredibly rich and cheesy, but a touch salty. The drawback of this location is that it's a ghost kitchen. You order it online and the order will be ready for you when you come in to pick it up. The location does not have seating, and you eat it at your own convenience. If you live/work locally, then this can be definitely worth checking out. Because I live out of town, I have to enjoy it either in my car, after a long drive home, or at my wife's office; however, I want to enjoy these $20 pastas in a restaurant, with wine and good company. A ghost kitchen is very different than a restaurant experience. I hope they do choose to bring their restaurant to the OC one day.

One of the girls swears by this cute italian spot so we all just had to check it out! The Break Down: Location/Parking: - This restaurant has many locations, but we went to the one in Newport Beach specifically. Parking can be a little on the tricky side so best to get there earlier. They do have a small little parking lot on the side and you'd just have to walk to the restaurant, which isn't even a walk tbh. Alongside that there is a paid parking lot as well, but is free after 6pm. I was lucky since our get together started at 5:30pm. I just waited it out for a bit lol. Also if you are wondering, you make a payment through the app if you were to park in that paid lot. Atmosphere: - Give a rustic Italian homey vibe, with that touch of character. All around the restaurant you see frames of posters, pictures of places and people which I loved. The Food: Appetizers Bread + Oil/Vinegar (COMPLEMENTARY) - Who doesn't love free bread lol I know I love it, A++ for me. The bread is just a regular bread of course with butter on the side and self-serve of the oil & vinegar. I love it when restaurants have snackies as you wait :) Bruschetta ($12.95) 3/5 stars - For me I think it was more so that the tomatoes were larger than what I was used to. Usually bigger is better, yes, but I was looking for smaller chucks and more flavor profile as well. To me it was on the blander side, but to everyone else it was a hit. I think i amm a heavy salt person too. Twas still a good starter. Calamari Fritti ($15.95) 5/5 stars - UGH BOMB! I loved this so much. Then again I love seafood! The batter was not overwhelming at all twas light but still had that flavor that I love! It was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. The sauce matched perfectly. You cant go wrong with calamari or well i have never been wrong lol. Main Entree Lemon Cream Sauce & Shrimp ($22.95) 3/5 stars - So i didn't go with my gut and I ordered something totally different from what I was used to. It's okay though because I want to try new things. This pasta was okay, I think when I was ordering this I wanted something creamy. Beforehand I was sold on choosing between lasagna or sausage pasta with ricotta, I'm more of that girl, but then again at least now i know lol. Next time I'm back I will definitely try the highly recommended Chicken parm! Drinks I love that this place was a BYOB type of restaurant and they DONT CHARGE A CORK FEE! So of course the sweetest coworker of mine (who also recommended this restaurant and the chicken parm that i didn't order), brought endless wines of all types lol. Service: - The staff was very nice! They were so patient with us and I knew we were louder than everyone else, but hey it's the holidays we are happy to be in each other's company! Again Thank you Romano Cucina!!

Massimo Pizza - Costa Mesa Rating: (5/5)…read more Sometimes you want an artisan, wood-fired, ultra-balanced pizza. And sometimes... you just want a massive, unapologetic, cheesy beast of a pie. Massimo nails that second category so perfectly that it feels almost therapeutic. We ordered an XL pepperoni + sausage with extra cheese, and the thing that stood out immediately is that Massimo actually understands what extra cheese is supposed to mean. Most chains toss on maybe 25-50% more, and it barely changes anything. Here, they layer it so thick that the slices almost fuse together into one glorious sheet of bubbling mozzarella. You lift a slice and it stretches -- heavy, gooey, satisfying -- exactly the way you hope it will. Flavor-wise, it hits all the buttons. The pepperoni brings salt and crisp edges, the sausage has that savory punch, and yes -- it's a grease bomb in the best possible way. If greasy pizza isn't your thing, this might not be the spot. But if you embrace a good greasy pizza, whether you're recovering from a long night or just craving comfort food, this place delivers. What really surprised me was how well the sauce balances everything. It has enough acidity to cut through all that cheese, meat, and oil, keeping each bite from feeling heavy. Instead of being overwhelmed, you just want another slice. And another. I also grabbed a side of alfredo sauce for crust dipping, and it was fantastic -- creamy, rich, and basically turned the leftover crust into its own bonus meal. This isn't a dainty pizza. It isn't pretending to be health food. It's bold, salty, cheesy, greasy, and absolutely delicious -- exactly the kind of pie you daydream about when someone says, "Let's just order pizza tonight." Final verdict: Massimo doesn't just do "extra cheese" -- they commit to it. Big flavors, heavy slices, great sauce balance, and total satisfaction. For this style of pizza, it hits the spot every single time. 5/5 -- an easy must-order. If you want clean, delicate pizza... look elsewhere. If you want pizza that tastes like pure comfort -- this is your place.
