Ah, another great Tuscan dinner at Trattoria Napoleone. We made reservations online and were confirmed through whatsapp. We were seated right away on a couch in a hallway, lol. It was odd, but actually was romantic to be seated by ourselves right next to the fireplace. Our server was very sweet and brought us a bottle of Chianti Classico. Their house Chianti that is their own brand was one of my favorite Chianti's on the whole trip. OMG so good! Then came a complimentary soup in a cute little pot, with an assorted bread basket. We started with prosciutto and burrata and holy cow, both were the best of the trip. The prosciutto was sliced so thin it just melted in your mouth. The burrata tasted like it was made one hour before. Absolutely amazing. For our entrees I ordered the spaghetti with zucchini, zucchini flowers, truffles, and shrimp. My boyfriend ordered the steak and potatoes. We both loved our entrees and even had some leftovers. We tried the "world's best panna cotta" for dessert. We both love panna cotta and loved the texture. It was so decadent. However, it tasted exactly like caramel popcorn. I didn't love the flavor, but probably would have prefered if it had fresh berries or something on top instead. Our waitress here was very sweet. Great food! We would definitely go back! read more

This hidden gem is on a quiet piazza just a block away from bustling crowds. We are outside on a lovely night. Got free vegetable soup. Huge portions of pasta and gnocchi with truffles. Go inside. The bathroom is worth checking out. Looks like it might be nice in winter too. read more

Our favorite restaurant in Florence to date. We enjoyed our meal so much we came back for our last evening. The ambiance inside the restaurant was romantic and incredibly charming don't let the outside fool you. The restaurant has many little rooms and cozy corners for dinning. In addition they have two very large tables for big groups. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the cheese plate each night. My husband had the calzone which was the best of his trip and then the veal scaloppine which was mouthwatering. The tuna Tatar was also fantastic. The salads were fresh and large enough for a meal in my opinion. We can't wait to go back! read more

Couldn't recommend this place more if you are looking for authentic food not filled with tourists that is reasonably priced. House Chianti is fabulous and 18 euros a bottle. Everything ordered off of the truffle menu was out of this world. Highly recommend starting with a meat and cheese board, they provide an endless assortment of bread. Spaghetti with truffle sauce zucchini flowers & shrimp was 10/10. Gnocchi with truffle butter 10/10. Heads up. 3 euro cover for each person in your party and 2 euro for still water. Total was still completely reasonable for our party for the quality and genuine Italian experience. Would recommend making a reservation. read more

The best bread basket in all of florence! Yes that's right, I said it. BEST BREAD BASKET! Italy is known for a bread basket at every table (You pay for it) and this one takes the cake. The meat and cheese platter was absolutely delicious as well. We stumbled upon this place in a small plaza off the main plazas in florence. I should say Firenze but we call it Florence in the US. My fiancé had the crab with gnocchi, the sauce was delightfully light and so tasty. I didn't get to taste the crab since it was a full crab that you had to hand crack. Thanks for a wonderful time! This is a very charming restaurant with a varied, festive ambiance. The creativity of the physics environment is matched by creative flourish on classic Florentine cuisine. It's a charming square in the very walkable Oltrarno (sp?)neighborhood. It's still friendly and populated by tourists but it's a little more local than across the Arno. read more

We have chosen this restaurant due to a recommendation. I would not recommend it. There are many other restaurants which are better in Florence. The Interieur is nice and they want to be more luxury compared to other restaurants. The quality of the food was absolutely good, but also the delicious Toscany kitchen. Nothing more. And then I prefer a honest down to earth Trattoria. I am only giving three stars, because my water glass head lip stick on it and my filet steak and the side dishes were cold when served. That means my wife ate alone and than later me alone. This is a no go an should not happen, especially when they want to be luxury style. read more

I happened upon this Restaraunt on my first night in Florence. I noticed the twinkly outdoor lights and thought why not! The service was outstanding, the decor is cozy, and my meal was fantastic. I started with the Parma ham and burrata plate and finished with the spinach and ricotta ravioli with truffle sauce. I couldn't have been happier. They serve a complimentary house soup that was lovely and the bread basket has a few choices that do not disappoint for dipping! I will fine here again! read more

I was not totally convinced by this place. I was told that it would be the best pizzas in town, which - I hope - was clearly not the case. The pizzas were not bad, they were OK, but nothing more, no particularly tasty, just a nice, honest pizza doing its basic job but with nothing special. I was not very convinced by the place in itself neither, maybe because we were in a kind of vault underground which was very noisy and not very pleasant. So again, this is not a bad place, but not a place that I particularly recommend either. You can find better pizzas, really. read more

I recently ate here with my fiancé, she has been coming here for a long time and has often ordered the lobster tartar with truffle. She ordered it this time and they brought out the wrong lobster dish after complaining it was the wrong dish they brought it back to the kitchen and just put truffle on top of it and said it was the right one. After talking to 3 waiters and the manager who all assured they would "take care of it" they still charged for the meal. This would usually be a 5 star place but the lack of fixing the mistake is very frustrating. read more

This place my hotel recommended so I decided to try it. It started out promising, very nice decor and ambiance. Then the bad happened. First off this place smelled bad, like bad truffles, and I mean very bad. Then the appetizers came and they went bad. Along with the first course. But the second course was uninspiring and not pasta that is Italy quality. It was not good sauce or pasta, along with the fish others at my table got. A great find off the beaten path! Great for dining inside or outside. The bread basket and complimentary soup were wonderful. Many pasta and steak entrees to choose from. I had a tenderloin that was fantastic, and it gives you a taste of a Florentine steak without having to get the typical two-pound T-Bone. We would have definitely gone back if we had more time in Florence, and will go back to Trattoria Napoleone next time we are in the city! read more

All I can say is wow! The food-amazing. Waitress no English ?! But she worked really hard. We were lucky enough that it rained, so the outdoor concert got cancelled and we got the most amazing entertainment. Food took a while but well worth the wait! read more

Had just an appetizer (cheese plate) with my mom - lovely atmosphere and great waiter

This resto has appearance and presentation down, you feel very chic and trendy just sitting there. The little details such as cutlery, plate design and food arrangement are pleasurable notes. Antipasti were beautifully arranged: truffle omelette, little tiny saucers of dips (fegatino, melanzane, pecorino cream albeit being a somewhat mysterious tasteless cream) and a few slices of salami. I ordered a truffled branzino w roasted veggies. Problem: for €18, the branzino had no truffle (how do you forget that?) and the veggies were way too soft and overcooked and oversalted. A friend had lamb cotolette and they were over salted and accompanying veggies were under-salted. I think this place needs another chance but at 1st glance, it's not the best if you are looking for extraordinary food but instead for a lovely fashionable dining experience. However, I must say the desserts were incredible. I would go back just for dessert after dinner or an antipasto. Please have the panna cotta or cheesecake. The tiramisù however looked not as convincing. read more

Discovered it by accident looking for another place which was closed. Our waiter, a young man from Sicily, was extremely welcoming and friendly. We ordered slices of beef which they described as thinly sliced, but they were not: they were more than a half-inch wide, cooked perfectly to order, and delicious.The meat was al dente, not tough, and extremely flavorful. It was the first time we ate meat in Florence and we were not disappointed. We ordered it with baked vegetables which were cooked just right. That was important, because after flying on airliners for 20 hours we were vegetable-deprived. We also had a restaurant specialty, asparagus baked with eggs on top and a generous portion of shredded truffles, then in season. Truffles like that are unavailable in the States, and we were quite happy with this dish, which only cost $12. We washed down with a $20 bottle of Sicilian Nero d'Avila, from a specific grower known to the restauranteurs. The whole superb meal came to €66. read more

The food and the atmosphere is perfect. I had the beef tartar and was very pleased with it . We also got the polenta with pate and porcini for starter and that was so delicious. It's a well known spot and lots of costumers so be mindful of some waiting before your order is taken. The staff are very nice. read more
