Our favorite restaurant in Florence to date. We enjoyed our meal so much we came back for our last evening. The ambiance inside the restaurant was romantic and incredibly charming don't let the outside fool you. The restaurant has many little rooms and cozy corners for dinning. In addition they have two very large tables for big groups. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the cheese plate each night. My husband had the calzone which was the best of his trip and then the veal scaloppine which was mouthwatering. The tuna Tatar was also fantastic. The salads were fresh and large enough for a meal in my opinion. We can't wait to go back!

Couldn't recommend this place more if you are looking for authentic food not filled with tourists that is reasonably priced. House Chianti is fabulous and 18 euros a bottle. Everything ordered off of the truffle menu was out of this world. Highly recommend starting with a meat and cheese board, they provide an endless assortment of bread. Spaghetti with truffle sauce zucchini flowers & shrimp was 10/10. Gnocchi with truffle butter 10/10. Heads up. 3 euro cover for each person in your party and 2 euro for still water. Total was still completely reasonable for our party for the quality and genuine Italian experience. Would recommend making a reservation.

The best bread basket in all of florence! Yes that's right, I said it. BEST BREAD BASKET! Italy is known for a bread basket at every table (You pay for it) and this one takes the cake. The meat and cheese platter was absolutely delicious as well. We stumbled upon this place in a small plaza off the main plazas in florence. I should say Firenze but we call it Florence in the US. My fiancé had the crab with gnocchi, the sauce was delightfully light and so tasty. I didn't get to taste the crab since it was a full crab that you had to hand crack. Thanks for a wonderful time! Oh everyone needs to get a glass of their house champagne, it was light and crisp!

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food is what truly makes it exceptional. We ordered the ravioli, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, the Florentine steak, a mixed salad, affogato, and fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream. To drink, we shared a small carafe of red wine and a Pinot Grigio. Everything was spectacular. The Florentine steak was easily the best--and largest--I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and remarkably tender, it was the highlight of an already outstanding meal. The pappardelle with boar ragù was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, while the ravioli was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Every dish felt authentic, carefully executed, and memorable. The wine was another pleasant surprise. Both selections were excellent and very reasonably priced, making the meal feel like an even better value. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. He patiently answered questions, explained the menu, and guided us toward some fantastic choices. Although we thought we were too full for dessert, we're very glad we changed our minds. The affogato was fantastic, and the strawberries with mascarpone cream were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of the evening was watching our four-year-old happily clutching two spoons and enthusiastically scooping fresh strawberries and mascarpone into his mouth. It was one of those memorable family travel moments that you don't forget. A terrific meal, a unique historic setting, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Florence, and I highly recommend it.

We spent three days in Florence and ate here twice, and cut our tour of the Acedemia out of our schedule to make sure we could make it for lunch before heading on to Rome, that's how awesome the food was! The people running the restaurant are so amazing, they truly treat you like family while you are there. They were always attentive, but never lingering. Unlike restaurants in the US where you are expected to eat and leave as soon as possible, in Italy food is mean to be enjoyed over conversation and camaraderie, which means unless you wave someone over or your glasses are empty you are left to enjoy yourselves. Osteria Santo Spirito is no exception to this rule. You'll be warmly greeted and well cared for but never hovered over. You will absolutely want to make a reservation, a wait for a table inside can take a bit to get if you just plan to stroll in off the street, but the seating outside is just as beautiful and a bit more plentiful. If you visit Florence and are looking for a place that doesn't take advantage of the tourists, and serves up amazing food, this is your spot for

Both the indoor and outdoor tables are lovely (we tried both after our wives were too cold in the wind), and this was the best service we encountered during a week in Florence. Not only were the staff accommodating and brought us everything we needed, but they also steered us toward so many things we weren't going to get, with insistence and good humor. And they were right. The Albanian sommelier and my wine-obsessed buddy fell in love, talked for ages, and we ordered three very nice bottles (classic) as a result (after our spritzes). We had a steak dinner planned for later, but we still ordered the exceptional Florentine beef, just because we couldn't leave without trying it. They blew my mind with the savory mushroom flan, and the fiochetti di pera (perfect purses of pear pasta in a silky cream sauce) were one of the best bites of the trip, and my life. We honestly weren't expecting much, but it turned out to be one of the best meals of the trip.
