I wish we hadn't gotten hungry in Burano! We were looking for lunch and decided to give Trattoria da Primo a chance based on some reviews saying they liked it and that it was a family owned trattoria. It was also one of the highest rated restaurants around the area... I can't even imagine the other ones. This is simply a tourist trap, and unfortunately we fell for it. The lasagna my partner had was awful -- the texture was absolutely horrendous. It was as if it had been left out for days. I had the spaghetti bolognese and it wasn't bad, but it was definitely nothing to write home about. Service was good, thankfully, and so was the bottle of Valpolicello that we ordered. My main tip? Avoid eating in Burano altogether. They don't seem to have many non-tourist traps with good quality food.

Excellent experience! Omg. I don't know where to begin. The service was beyond amazing and the food was impeccable. I had the best experience. From their website, "You will be served directly by our waiters who will make you live a moment that you will remember for your whole life." - 1000% facts The seafood was fresh! Full of flavor and plenty. I ordered the SEA BASS FILLET WITH GRILLED POTATOES, a glass of Prosecco and their traditional desert item, THEY AND BUSSOLAI (TYPICAL BURANELLI BISCUITS). I was told you must have it after your meal. All fantastic and delicious. It was one of the best feelings ever. Burano is beautiful and I highly recommend visiting the island. The locals are so kind and welcoming.

We happened upon da Primo by chance, and were pleasantly surprised. Greeted immediately. We learned it is family owned, pasta and sauce and dessert are all made in house...and fantastico!!!! The fish and prawns were fresh and locally caught. The traditional dessert was phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

Stopped here for lunch while on Burano Island. Food was delicious had Seafood pasta and my niece had the shrimp scampi. Service was good. However we were in rush due to our tour group so make sure to have time to enjoy the meal.

This place was recommended by a boat tour guide during our trip to Venice, so we decided to give it a try. The place was spacious, clean and the service was great. Waiter did great recommending some dishes and another waitress offered a special dessert made by her mother (which we later learned was the owner of the restaurant). Food was fresh and tasty. Location is great. Burano is a very pretty place with colored houses along the water. Totally recommend.

The food was fresh and delicious. This place is family owned and run. They believe in top notch service! I was here 10 years ago and it was everything I remembered and more!

Wow, this was the most delicious meal we had in Italy so far! The squid ink pasta was the best that I have ever had! The texture of the pasta was cooked perfectly, it was al dente. The starter that we got was also great and it gave us a sample of several types of sea food local to the area. My favorite was the shrimp, spread and the tuna. The staff were all super nice and served with cheerful attitudes. Price: a bit expensive, $$. But it was roughly the same price as the other restaurants in the island.

Oh my, a terrific dinner. Great wines. Wonderful fish, soft shell crab, fresh pasta, tiramisu and cakes. Very attentive owner. Our best meal so far in Italy. And s beutiful atmosphere in Burano Italy.

    this was a definite yes!

The tiramisu was fantastic. So good in fact, we ordered a second one immediately after. Food was really good and fresh! (someone who actually really enjoys seafood would probably like it even more than myself.) Nice location and seating. Service was pleasant. I had the thin noodles with shrimp and seasonal vegetables (mushrooms) and my bf had the spaghetti with clams. We both enjoyed our meals. My bf said mine was better (the dish overall) but this was still was one of his top favorites meals we've had here in Italy (so far we've visited Rome, Naples, Positano, Amalfi, Capri and Venice) For me it was really good but I don't love seafood so I wasn't going crazy over it (all of the places in Burano and most of Venice focus on fish so it's been difficult for me to find things I like personally)

Delicious food! The hands-on owners are very hospitable. Ask about local Burano wines and specialties.

The seafood is served in a cracker bowl which is both super sustainable and a fun way to eliminate waste. The service was so nasty toward the tourists that I was really close to stepping away from the venue during the initial interaction. But we were tired from a long day of exploring and were opting for something more casual before heading on the ferry back. Prices for the dishes aren't exactly cheap. For a pile of seafood and a drink I believe the cost was close to 20 euros. Overall, if you can go to another spot that offers fresher fritto misto you might be able to enjoy it and have a better experience than this location.

I bought a water because the kitchen was closed. The man that I spoke to was pretty rude. My mother also needed to use the bathroom. While she was in there and the worker saw her go in there he proceeded to start banging on the door after her being in there for 1 minute. Because of the worker banging on the door my mother peed everywhere. NOT COOL! RUDE PEOPLE WORK HERE! Water bottle was good that's why the 2 stars not 1.

They had AC inside and it was nice considering it was a hot day. Only reason I gave only 3 stars is because the one server was sort of rude. The table next to us didn't want wine and just ordered water. When he turned his back he was rolling his eyes. Maybe they don't drink or want to hydrate with water (which you pay for anyway) since it was hot outside. Then when they didn't order more expensive food items he also seemed disgusted and annoyed Everyone else there was great but it makes me wonder what he did to us since I just ordered spaghetti with butter sauce. (wasn't that hungry and just wanted a simple pasta dish) if he doesn't approve of such inexpensive food items maybe he should suggest them be removed!!! He was the rudest person I have encountered this whole trip to Italy.

Scampi is cut up shrimp added to the standard risotto with fish flavored sauce. I thought it was good. Maybe not authentic enough but I researched the other restaurants and they are about the same. Like all other restaurants they charge for bread as a cover fee. I would avoid the spaghetti with butter sauce. It's what it's called so nothing special about it. The next table ordered the grilled fish. This was quite a show. They present it in a platter then transfer it to the 2 dinner plates. They remove the fish bones and dish out the fillet. The left overs (bones) gets tossed with salt/pepper and they pour the fish juice over the fillet.

A taste of history & tradition…read more Our lunch at #TrattoriadaRomano was unforgettable -- nestled in colorful Burano, this fourth-generation family-run gem has been crafting its iconic risotto the same way since the 1920s, and you can feel that legacy in every bite. The dining room is a living gallery -- walls packed with hundreds of paintings and sketches gifted by patrons over a century. Among them: cartoons of Ernest Hemingway in a hilariously manic duck-hunting scene -- and his signature even adorns their guestbooks. We ordered the legendary "risotto digò" (go‑fish risotto) -- a creamy, umami-packed delight. No cream; just perfectly cooked rice in a deeply flavored fish broth made the texture silky and indulgentTruly, risotto that feels like history on a plate. "A taste of history and tradition" is no exaggeration -- this dish and entire atmosphere are one-of-a-kind. From four generations of love to the art-lined walls, every detail made our meal "unique and awesome."

As a vegetarian, I was afraid I wouldn't get to try any cicchetti as it typically contains meat, or I'm charged the same price for cheese alone. Trattoria de Romano has a variety of cicchetti that ranges in price depending on the ingredients. There was a great variety of vegetable based options, each for only €1.50. I tried the pomodoro, the asparagus cream, the pumpkin cream, and the artichoke cream. The pumpkin cream was my absolute favorite as it was sweet and smooth, but with the pumpkin flavor strong and authentic, not fake or sugary. The artichoke was my second favorite, followed by the asparagus and pomodoro. Pomodoro was delicious and bright, the tomatoes covered in garlic and basil, but it was my own bad for getting a less unique choice, which is why it is listed last. For my beverage, of course, I chose a spritz, a Spritz Bitter, which was a wonderful complement and much larger than others I have ordered, without being watered down either! Service was quick and kind, even giving me recommendations (which has been rare in Italy haha) Stop by and try a few bites!
