We ate here based on our research online. The area is flooded with restaurant options so it's hard to distinguish where to eat. The family run aspect is what drew us. They were so lovely! Explaining things on the menu and apparently their mom cooks some of the items. We ended up sharing the mixed seafood platter and the risotto of the area but honestly it was mediocre food. We spent an easily over $100 and didn't get very much actual seafood or food. That's what you get for coming on this island is tourist prices! Beautiful and family ran restaurant with a delicious risotto! We ordered the mussels in white sauce as an appetizer and the risotto for lunch. I wish we hadn't gotten hungry in Burano! We were looking for lunch and decided to give Trattoria da Primo a chance based on some reviews saying they liked it and that it was a family owned trattoria. It was also one of the highest rated restaurants around the area... I can't even imagine the other ones. This is simply a tourist trap, and unfortunately we fell for it. The lasagna my partner had was awful -- the texture was absolutely horrendous. It was as if it had been left out for days. I had the spaghetti bolognese and it wasn't bad, but it was definitely nothing to write home about. Service was good, thankfully, and so was the bottle of Valpolicello that we ordered. My main tip? Avoid eating in Burano altogether. They don't seem to have many non-tourist traps with good quality food. read more

Excellent experience! Omg. I don't know where to begin. The service was beyond amazing and the food was impeccable. I had the best experience. The most disgusting fish I have EVER had. For reference I had sea bass. Brown on the inside. My sons pasta with lobster was undercooked pasta and overcooked lobster. I took a few bites as did my son, and about 50 yards later I threw up. Worst meal in Italy read more

This place was recommended by a boat tour guide during our trip to Venice, so we decided to give it a try. The place was spacious, clean and the service was great. Waiter did great recommending some dishes and another waitress offered a special dessert made by her mother (which we later learned was the owner of the restaurant). Food was fresh and tasty. Wow, this was the most delicious meal we had in Italy so far! The squid ink pasta was the best that I have ever had! The texture of the pasta was cooked perfectly, it was al dente. The starter that we got was also great and it gave us a sample of several types of sea food local to the area. My favorite was the shrimp, spread and the tuna. The staff were all super nice and served with cheerful attitudes. Price: a bit expensive, $$. But it was roughly the same price as the other restaurants in the island. read more

Not sure why anyone would rate this lower than 5 stars. Family owned, generational business. Roserro (apologies if I spelled her name wrong), greeted us and gave us a little history during our meal. Perfect place to enjoy. It was so hot out, luckily I had reserved a table inside. The local soft sheeled crab was in season. It was grilled to perfection, and seasoned perfectly. There was also Turbot in season amd caught this morning , and a homemade pasta dish with some shrimp and local artichoke. Overall the service was prompt, friendly, attentive and bordering on elegant. Mom was running around restocking the front, sweeping up crumbs, and bringing linens to set the tables. They have a great system going and the food was extremely well seasoned. All in all. The tiramisu was fantastic. So good in fact, we ordered a second one immediately after. Food was really good and fresh! (someone who actually really enjoys seafood would probably like it even more than myself.) Nice location and seating. Service was pleasant. I had the thin noodles with shrimp and seasonal vegetables (mushrooms) and my bf had the spaghetti with clams. We both enjoyed our meals. Wonderful meal and a perfectly lovely family! We rushed in just before the kitchen closed and they made room for us. We had the lasagne bolognese and the seafood spaghetti with grilled seasonal vegetables. All were absolutely delicious! We came here on the recommendation of the concierge at the Hotel. Paolo, the owner of the shop, was a good friend of his. When we arrived, we sat out on the patio on a charming little street. Paolo came out, asked us if we liked seafood and wine...yes and hell yes. He started us out with fantastic mussels and a beautifully paired, chilled white wine. My Wife and I were in heaven. The next course was a huge platter of two roasted, freshly caught sea bass which the waiter expertly disassembled and plated along with incredible roasted vegetables...and maybe a second bottle of wine...maybe. We finished it off with an incredible custard and raspberry sauce. This meal was the highlight of our entire European trip. Paolo was a wonderful host! I think it's worth the airfare to fly from the US just for this meal. WOW! read more

On a trip to Burano from Venice, we decided to have lunch at Trattoria da Primo. At the end of the meal we left feeling disgusted. The food was decent, but everyone was extremely rude and took advantage of us because we were tourists. We ordered two dishes of the Tagliolini all'Astice in "Bellavista" which was listed as €20,00 on the menu. However when the bill came, we were charged €30,00 for each. We we're then told that they were out of the normal lobster so they gave us the special king lobster- we were unaware of this and they did not tell us at any point that what they served us was extra. They should of checked with us before serving this to us and charging us, we just wanted the regular dish. It wasn't the twenty euros that was a big deal, it was the fact that they tried to take advantage of us because we were vulnerable and unfamiliar with the area. When we tried to speak with them about it they literally told us "you are foreigners here, we will call the police on you". To charge you whatever they want and threaten to call the police if you don't pay it is thievery and entrapment, a really dirty trick because they know as a tourist there's nothing you can do. The waitresses proceeded to point at us and speak about us with the locals eating there, to whom they gave much larger portions. The bottom line is that this place is corrupt and takes advantage of tourists because they know they can get away with it- pretty sad if you ask me. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT, IT'S NOT WORTH IT! read more

He literally said "2 minutes" when we tould him we just need more time to decide for lunch. The service was rude and the food we ordered was extremly greasy.
