The tuna was cooked a tad over and the skin on the amberJack could have been crisper ( the flesh was moist and well-seasoned) but overall we enjoyed the food very much. Our first waiter recommended a nice white wine from Etna - we ordered two bottles for the 3 of us. The lovely woman who then brought our food was delightful and charming. The evening we dined there, Canadian Amazon Prime was shooting a food network show on site and we ended up being a part of it (we consented to be interviewed and to do multiple takes and signed releases). They open at 7pm which is when I arrived to find myself alone in the restaurant. But by the time I left at 9, the place was full. We were directed to pick out any table by the two guys at the door. Clearly this is a family run operation as was proven to me when the two wives and their kids showed up around 8:30. The wives began to run the host stand and check people out while the men took orders and ran the food. As I often do, I left it up to the owners to suggest items from the menu. For the appetizers we went with a variety plate of panelle and some eggplant type relish. This was very good. The other appetizer of "sardine balls" must be an acquired taste as I didn't care for it but my dining companion enjoyed them. For our main course I had the spaghetti and clams which was delicious and my friend went with the lobster filled ravioli. Know if you order this last dish that you must like curry as it uses a lot of it for seasoning. All of that plus a few glasses of house wine and a couple of beers came to about 75 EU which seemed reasonable for the amount of food. They take reservations so if you want to go later than I did, you may want to call ahead cuz this place gets busy as the night goes on!

I think it's part of the experience, and I thankfully haven't had any issues (I have a sensitive stomach)! Good number of stands with pantry items (jarred items and bagged spices), some souvenir vendors, and other stalls for food and drinks. I traveled solo and felt safe the whole time but I also tend to have my belongings directly on my person in front of me and keep zipped pouches for other items. My aunt, being the kind soul she is, called out a pickpocketer in the act and he harassed her. Be sure to keep your belongings in a safe place. (Man pickpocketed had his wallet in his back pocket.) Try to order food in Italian, you'll get a better, friendlier response, even if it's not good Italian. The food is very affordable so step out of your comfort zone and try something new!
