The service was great, the food was awesome but the location is sketchy. All of Palermo sucks but this place is decent. I had the lung and spleen and it was good.

My BFF visited Palermo several months ago and came back raving about their amazing experience at Buatta.  She said that their dining experience was stellar, and that this place is frequented by mostly locals (who usually know where to find good food in their own city). When we decided to go to Palermo on vacation, I made a point of making a reservation to visit Buatta, and I'm VERY glad I did! Tip: All the ingredients for the food served here are sourced from the local market; they use special flour when baking their bread, and all the food tastes exceptional! The house-made pastas we selected were amazing, the Focaccia bread was Heavenly, and the black pork was delicious and incredibly flavorful.  The services was exceptional, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable given the extremely high quality of the food.  There's no question that we'll return the next time we're in Palermo!

The menu is very unique. Special recipes from Sicily. The appetizers were fantastic. Staff was super friendly. Atmosphere is great.

After searching Palermo for a delicious dinner, I chose Buatta for its interesting dishes and it's initially helpful staff. Then I was seated in a sweltering corner and ignored for most of 40 minutes. A couple of waiters were helpful but the female staff seemed overwhelmed and one waitress was rude. It was difficult to order wine. I guess I can stop there?

I will have dreams about my meal at Buatta. From the outside we thought it looked very nice but probably didn't offer authentic food, boy we were wrong. I had the best eggplant parmesan and a spaghetti with fried zucchini. Topped it off with some wine...it was such a good meal. The ambience was lovely and felt the pricing was fair. I would certainly recommend this restaurant. If you would like to hear more about our trip in Palermo and the rest of Italy, please feel free to check out my blog at TheCoreyStory.com :)

Service is rude particularly the sommelier. The food was just so so. Definitely better places in Palmero to dine at.

Tasty food. Service leans relatively good. Artichoke salad was the number one favorite, and the macchiato was my favorite one yet.

While in Palermo, this was one of the stops our food guide took us to in order to have its famous…read morespleen sandwich. The sandwich here is served slightly different than other locations as the meat is sliced very thin and its topped with shredded cheese. At first we were a little nervous about trying the sandwich but after the first bite i was pleasantly surprised that the cheese really cut organ taste of the spleen. In addition the thinly sliced meat gave it a good balance between the meat to fat ratio. I know a lot of people in our food group were apprehensive about trying it but to be honest my wife and I are pretty open to all types of food and our motto is that will always try something once.

The First Restaurant Experience in Sicily Served Food & Some "Godfather History"…read more I ate at the main branch of restaurant that is known for being one of the first and, for many years, an establishment that stood up against the Mafia and Cosa Nostra. Antica Focacceria's two owners stood against the Mob by refusing to pay the 'pizzu', or protection money. According to Michelin Star Chef #giorgiolocatelli , the consequence is even in recent years, the owners were in exile. Now settled in a confidential place in mainland Italy, they fortuitously and successfully managed the expansion of this Sicilian restaurant all over Italy. Proudly supportive, I sat at the very first branch of the restaurant, the gutsy one that courageously said no to mob bullying, the original Antica Focacceria San Francesco . And I went twice, too.
