My husband and I both ordered the same thing, a cheese burger with a side of fries. We also splurged and got a chili cheese dog and a chocolate milkshake. The burgers were different, loose meat with white American cheese, very simple. The bun was baked to buttery perfection, it was really tasty! The fries were just basic crinkle cut, cooked perfectly though. The chili cheese dog was a little disappointing, there wasn't much chili on there. I probably would stick with the burgers. The milkshake was smooth and creamy. The server was very sweet and helpful despite being really busy! The inside is very small but also very inviting, we loved looking at the pictures of years past that were posted all around. There was an ambiance of nostalgia. Overall for a quick and easy bite to eat I would definitely recommend this place, be sure to have cash handy as it is cash only.

When ordering hamburgers or cheeseburgers don't be shocked when they bring you 'loose meat' burgers. They are very tasty however and I suggest you get one with the works. Tried a chili dog with cheese as well, but found it to be 85% cheese and 15% chili. The fries and onion rings are good. The waitress was helpful and rest of the staff was pleasant. It was a very tiny building with not much room.

I was a little taken back when on the board it stated they had a sloppy Joe and ff special for $17. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were enormous and very good. They were the size of a cue ball. Hubby ordered the steak salad special and loved it. Loaded with large pieces of tender steak and he really enjoyed it. He also had a pinia colada which seemed like it was from a pre-made gallon jug. I tasted it and neither of us enjoyed it. I had the stuffed halibut or haddock I forget which. It was on the dry side. I guess I should've went for the extra charge and got it in garlic butter. The stuffing in it had very thin long straps of imitation crab which was gross. Would have been better w/out it. MUCH better. Nice baked potato and mediocre bagged salad in my opinion. Server was nice and friendly and the portion sizes were large, but overpriced.

Hot, cheesy, classic--and for the price? Can't beat it. But that "chef salad"? Oh. My. God. What I received looked like something you'd win as a consolation prize at a school raffle. I paid $8 for a plastic container of lettuce, one slice of tomato, a green pepper ring, and like... three croutons trying to hold it all together. No meat. No cheese. No egg. Not even a shred of effort. I've seen more toppings on a flight snack. This wasn't a salad made by a chef--it was a salad that called in sick. It looked like it was assembled by someone who whispered, "Good enough," and walked away. AJ's--your food is good. Your pizza? A hit. Your prices? More than fair. But that salad? That salad needs to be exorcised from the menu. For $8, I expected at least a garnish of dignity. That container of sadness was delivered to my hotel and somehow still found a way to disrespect me. Rest in peace to my $8--you were tossed, not dressed.

But after trying a takeout order for the 3rd time, I cannot recommend doing take away from here. SERVERS: The service is swift, it's happy, very friendly actually for typical brisk Asian style service. They handle the buffet efficiently and are always asking if you're doing well. The lady who took my to-go order over the phone was kind, she even called me back to say they were out of something I ordered and offered a substitute. TO-GO ORDER: This is where it all went downhill. I know sometimes if you make to-go orders, they pull stuff directly off the buffet instead of making something new. Which is whatever, honestly, I'd have preferred what was on the line to what I received. a) Black Pepper Chicken: On the line it's crunchy, crispy and caramelized chicken and onions with a hint of black pepper. What I got in my container was bits of soggy chicken literally floating in non-thickened sweet sauce. So much in fact that it leaked out of the containers edges all over the bottom of the bag. Luckily it was double bagged so it didn't get on my seats. b) Buttered Sea Food: On the line it's fake crab and baby shrimp sautéed with garlic, butter and parsley and a little something extra (I think sesame oil myself) and it's awesome over rice. I ordered a small container of this without the shrimp, because sometimes the shrimp aren't clean and I prefer to skip that. It was okay but there wasn't a lot of the butter sauce, so everything on top was very dried out. I only live 10 minutes away, so it shouldn't be like that after such a short time. c) They were out of the smoky, garlicky green beans and offered to sauté some broccoli in the same style. This also came floating in pool of slightly seasoned water. Like it was blanched and tossed in the container without draining before they dumped sauce on, instead of actually sautéing it. I'd have just rather passed on it. d) The egg drop soup came off the buffet line, so it was fine. It's not the best I've had but it's not the worst either. I'd call it passable and it was the most edible thing from the order, after I added some garlic chili paste. Now this is the only the latest to-go order mistakes. The first two times saw issues as well, like missing food, incorrectly made food and food that is usually dryer instead begging for a lifeline from an ocean of sauce. Honestly, for $30 for takeout, I expect better quality and consistency. If you can make it nice and tasty for the buffet line, you should be able to do the same for the take-out option. It's going to be a while before I add this place back into my rotation.
