Pies are excellent. The service was a little iffy- both times we went, both waitresses seemed bothered.

Trappers has been around since I was just little. It has always been good and it still is one place that we love to go to as a family. Their burgers are so awesome and their salads are without match! Breakfast is great and you never leave hungry. The service is decent and easy to over look because of the great food and the warm atmosphere. Always a must stop when you are in the area. read more

I LOVE TRAPPERS! I moved out of Taylor when I was 8, but we still visit all the time since my family is still there. Trappers its ALWAYS the place we go. Great pies! Great cheeseburgers! The authentic, homemade BBQ sauce is to die for! I have traveled to 16 different countries and love to eat at a new restaurant every week. While traveling through AZ, we spotted Trappers Cafe and were surprisingly charmed. The restaurant was clean, food was perfectly cooked and the service was great! Well I really wanted to give 5 stars. My husband and I agreed it was not what it was cracked up to be. Dinner was straight from frozen bags.... Nothing tasted that great. We ordered apple pie, banana cream and chocolate cream. No clue what the hype is. Except the apple was really good. Chocolate and banana are nothing to praise. Maybe we just had an off night. The food is mediocre, as i think most of it (other than the burgers, BBQ sauce and pies) are all purchased and reheated. But, the service is great! Everyone is always so helpful and friendly. If you are a fan of pie, you'll love their's. The burgers are also really good. Try your's with a side of BBQ sauce. The steak special is also pretty good. The fries are frozen, the only veggie they offer is canned green beans, you can tell that the majority of their soups are just reconstituted or reheated and their mashed potatoes are made from flakes. It has potential to be a fabulous joint if they would spend a little more time making homemade food and less time reheating it. read more

Everything you could want in a home style meal. Well prepared food with that warm inviting taste just like you get at grandma's house. Service was polite and timely. The decor and ambience was appropriate to fit a small town diner. Pricing is fair and the menu is simple and easy to follow. Of coarse the pies are the rave at this joint. And it's for good reason too. They have a wide variety for on site handmade pies. They have seasonal pies that could make King Triton's knees buckle. But seriously the pies are really good. Went to Trappers tonite and bought 2 chicken patties, (not the dinner, just 2 grilled chicken patties of about 4-5 ounces each) and two small side salads. No drink,,, NOTHING ELSE.. The bill $21!! While eating lunch recently, my family was treated as if we were a complete nuisance by our waitress. Towards the end of receiving our food and other miscellaneous requests (often the case with small children) our waitress said, "Are we all done here because I do have other tables." We had no idea that we were bothering her by asking for things like a towel to clean up spilled water (which I gladly wiped up myself). After further interactions we found that the waitresses were discussing how demanding we were and our waitress actually said "Every time we walked by you asked for something." I find this attitude completely unprofessional and extremely rude. A customer depends on a waitress to bring things because we cannot get them ourselves. We were further appalled to find that our waitress was the owner of the establishment. If doing your job is so bothersome, I will not be bothered to spend money at your restaurant ever again. I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant and been met with such hostility when expressing my concerns. Poor form Trappers. read more

I have been eating at Trappers for years. The food is always excellent. The pies are the absolute best around. I love the burgers. My favorite thing though is that they make their own salad dressing. I love ranch dressing and Trappers has the best ranch dressing you will find. read more

I love Trappers. They have been around for so long and are famous for their pies and chicken fried steaks. Their prices are very reasonable and the service is good. I generally do like to hammer a place. But Trapper's is an exception. It has a great reputation, but I did not enjoy anything there in my six visits over the past five months. The coffee was awful and the food was always cold. The service is reserved only for regulars, new comers are frequently ignored. They only had powered creamer and the service got all huffy when asked for liquid. She gave us a glass of milk and charged for it. Both my wife and I ordered eggs, they came to the table cold and we were one of two tables occupied at the time. I had hoped this was an exception, but it happened all the time and some of our friends had similar experiences. I would avoid this place like the plague! read more
