I think when an auto garage's see you pull up in a new car their eye balls roll backwards and…read moredollar signs pop up like a slot machine. As if the car isn't considered a major expense or luxury item. You always ask a customer before doing work to the car if you already see a problem. I came in because I picked up a nail and my tire was leaking pretty badly. I put air in and drove to the closest place. The nail was viable before you even take the tire off. I asked for a quick patch. Now they come get me telling me it can't be patch because they only patch the inner 3" of tread. Well, that's fine if you don't want to do the job. But they pulled the tire off the rim and removed the nail so I could not go else where. They tell me the tire needs replacement because I drove on it flat. No, that's not enough damage. The tire has about 6,500 miles on it. I have seen tires come in where rubber rubbing was a huge problem and actually made groves inside the tire. Mine was nothing like that. Very minimum damage to my tire. Something they may not know about Subaru's is that the drive tran must always be even or the symmetrical all-wheel drive will get damaged. I noticed the issue right away! Also. This is why Subaru has a full size spare tire. Had they told me before removing the nail and my tire from the rim I could have been on my way. But I'm going to loose another 3 hrs of my day dealing with what they don't want to. Geez, take the $30 patch job or up sell to a new tire. Lol unless your new tire has 6,500 miles of wear on it. You will cause serious damage to my car. Then to use scare tactics on me "it's going to blow up" Feels like a training issue, come to the customer first. Now I got a tire YOU removed from the rim which I can not high speed balance myself. You should have let me know before causing further damage to my car and day. This car is something I saved up for, I saved money for 4 years just to put down a down payment. In no way are customers loaded and should you attempt to exploit them. Everyone in the lobby and shop complained about the prices. Of the 5 others I saw not a single one left happy. I left down right angry at this entire state! How does no one here know about Subaru's? Or how to tread the customer. Should I walk into these place's and the first thing I should say is "I use to be a mechanic so don't try to rip me off?" I really don't think so nor do I think it's a relevant fact when I need minor work.

After selecting the 3 lowest proposals I visited each of those three shops to see their operation. Bullets Automotive has the feel of a small town business with big town capabilities. This is a family run business with two additional employees that I witnessed are treated like family. The owner, Bullet, feeds the employees a grilled or smoked lunch every day. He shows them that they are valued. That is important as happy employees tend to care more about their work and helping to grow the reputation of the business. Bullet's spouse handles the office very capably. While visiting the shop I witnessed her negotiating with a warranty company on behalf of another customer. It was easy to tell that she is knowledgeable and skilled at dealing with the warranty companies and the hoops through which they put customers and repair facilities. The job for my vehicle was scheduled for the following week and they accepted my vehicle on time. The maintenance was performed and completed within the promised amount of time and at the cost that was quoted. No Surprises. The total extent of the work was to replace the timing belt, water pump and pullies as well as replace the serpentine belt. Bullet saved the replaced parts and offered them for my review. The job was done well. Having moved to Florida from the north where I was connected and knew where to get the services I needed for anything there was a bit of angst associated with the process of finding a good, honest auto repair facility. I think that this is a trustworthy repair facility that does good work for a fair price. Bullets Automotive has earned my business and I will continue to use them.

We have had to…read moretake our vehicle back several times to have the "fix" fixed, charged $200 on a average more than originally agreed upon, picking up our vehicle just to have pieces dragging on the ground, a control arm and tie rod so poorly installed the shop we took it to after suffering an intense shimmy said "you should buy a lottery ticket, it's a miracle the wheel did not fall off!" The reason for two stars is we are somewhat complicit for continuing to go back. Beware of Bullets; I would steer clear, pun intended. You can trust me, this is our experience with them. ;D

We talked at length about what I needed out of the transmission (longevity and rock-solid dependability) and he came up with a game plan for a fully-rebuilt, lightly modded transmission with an excellent aftermarket billet torque converter. I'm a seasoned gear-head myself, so it was refreshing to have a realistic, no BS discussion on the matter. My truck makes me money every day Sure, I could have done it myself, but time is money, and in this instance, it made a lot more sense to let them do it. They are the professionals, and have all of the equipment and experience to do it in a fraction of the time it would have taken me. The work was stellar, the price was fantastic and that beast has never run better. I am truly blown away at how good that transmission feels regularly hauling 8+ ton loads. He, his wife and staff just run a great business. You can tell by looking at the shop parking lot on any given day. The community trusts them, and so do I. When is the last time you heard anyone say that about a mechanic? They are just old-school, extremely knowledgeable guys who tell you the truth, which might be not necessarily what you want to hear, but definitely not what will make them the most money. Tommy could have tried to up-sell me on a variety of components or complete builds, but did not. I knew I needed the work done for some time and considered many different builds and upgrades. He talked me out of unnecessary upgraded components that I thought might help longevity, stating unequivocally that they were not necessary. Ultimately, they listen to you, work with your budget and what you want, but give you honest advice taking everything into consideration and let you decide what to do. I couldn't be happier, and I wish them all the best!
