I signed up for personal training sessions with Roy on Tuesday, 7/2/19. My first day of training…read morewas on Wednesday, 7/3/19. I purchased a silver package for 2 trainings sessions a week at the rate of $445.00 a month. As a commitment to myself, I signed up for AUTOPAY on my credit card with payment due on the first of the month. On Thursday, 8/8/19, I notified Roy that the monthly payment wasn't showing on my credit card. He said it must have been a glitch in his system, and he thanked me for my honesty. It was the right and respectful thing to do. Too bad he doesn't want to return that same level of respect to me. I signed the contract understanding I could "terminate the relationship at any time and for any reason with no obligation due to the client" (myself) "beyond a freeze or transfer of any unused sessions." From 7/2/19-10/28/19, I had 5 unused sessions: Monday, 9/30/19 (cancelled by Roy for his own personal reasons), Wednesday, 10/2/19, Wednesday, 10/9/19 (cancelled by Roy for his own personal reasons), Wednesday, 10/16/19, and Wednesday, 10/30/19. On Monday, 10/28/19, I advised Roy that I would be in Florida for 2 weeks in November and would only be able to attend possibly 3 classes for the month. I also advised that I would be back in Florida for 2 weeks in December and for personal reasons, I would not be coming at all in December. I requested the AUTOPAY to be suspended. He suggested (not demanded as he accused me of saying) that I continue my workouts in December and to get "a head start on the New Year." I explained to him, that wouldn't make sense to me as I already had 5 unused days, and I would never be able to use these extra days. I left my session on 10/28/19 very disappointed with his response. My next scheduled appointment was Monday 11/4/19. On Friday, 11/1/19, I texted him to say I would not be coming in for training for the month of November and December and to remove me from AUTOPAY. I was billed through AUTOPAY on 11/1/19 for $445.00. Roy stated that his credit card company requires 30 day notice to suspend AUTOPAY, which is NOT indicated in the contract. Bottom line, DON'T DO AUTOPAY. I'm out the $445.00 for the month of November and $278.00 for the 5 unused days. I understand the no refund policy of the $278.00 for the unused sessions, but to keep the $445.00 for November, I feel, is wrong. I will never return to Fitness 4 You or recommend this facility to anyone else.

I've seen a drastic boost of confidence in my son and he actually enjoys going to Kickboxing now. I truly appreciate the smaller classes and the fact that they pay close attention to every child there regardless of their skill level / age. Jason (the owner) is extremely accommodating and understanding. He did an amazing job with the coaches that he selected to work at Funk! The first deal of 3 for 30 was a good intro package, and just like other fitness places, they want to make sure that they get you to sign up, and make sure you pay, and sometimes it can feel a bit pushy. But that is their job, to bring money to the place, and the expansion with the company means that people are signing up, staying and paying for memberships. Personally I like the credit system. You pay the fee. Get the credits. Book your classes. When you run out of credits you can reup if you choose. No membership and monthly fee Depends on what system you want to do. Otherwise, I'll keep coming back because I enjoy the place!

NYSC in Nesconset has a gym bully who goes by the name of Andrew or "Andy" for short. He is a white…read moremale about 5'10" who usually wears a black tshirt, gray sweatpants, a black Yankee hat, and over ear wireless headphones (photo attached). "Andy" does not work at NYSC, but you wouldn't know that if you saw him at the gym. He hangs out at the "Fitness Help" station and approaches everyone in the middle of their work outs, more often than not to insult, intimidate, or police their behavior. This morning I was in the middle of my squat set, and he chastised me to "put the weights back on the rack." In the middle of my set. I was confused and asked if he worked there. He said no. I watched him circumnavigate the gym floor over the next hour, interrupting and policing others' work outs. When I said something to the man at the front desk, he told me "yeah that's Andy, he's been coming here for years." I was perplexed as to why the staff was allowing this man to masquerade as a NYSC employee and badger their paying customers. NYSC corporate should be aware that this man is harassing their members. I am cancelling my membership to ALL NYSC/BSC/WSC locations and am telling my friends to do the same. I will not return so long as "Andy" is at the gym policing everyone's workouts.
