This is the worst company I have ever interacted with. They called me and told me that they were going to pick up my car the day before it was scheduled, and then told me I had to drive the car to meet them somewhere instead of picking it up at my house, as I had arranged. When I tried to explain that this was never communicated to me, they hung up on me. We have a vehicle need to be ship from East Coast to west Coast. I went online and search around and found roadrunnerautotransport_com. Got the quote very quickly and they will have exact time your vehicle will be pickup and drop off. Transauto Logistics is the company that pickup and drop off vehicle. It came with a hung 2 level auto transport truck. Our vehicle was loaded on upper deck. Pickup driver was on time and nice. We got messages and call a day before pickup. On the arriving side they deliver straight to my home. I was contacted day before drop off and provided a time frame for it. They were right on time dropping off my car. Our car was same condition as it was loaded on to the transport trucks. Our total time takes about 8 days from pickup. It really depends on the next shipping out date. We got lucky that they still have spot on transport for this trip. Again drivers are nice and professional. We'll definitely use Transauto Logistics next time we going to relocate our vehicles again. read more

Absolutely do not use this carrier. They transported my car to Los Angeles, and scratched the right side doors. These were deep scratches running the length of both right side doors. Their drop-off driver even SIGNED OFF the Bill Of Lading as this being a new scratch. I provided them pictures with their pickup driver that showed no scratches during pickup. And yet they refuse to accept responsibility. They are unscrupulous ... stay away from them. I am in the middle of a move from Virginia to Southern California. This is the company that picked up my vehicle in Virginia for the long haul across the country. I was first alerted to pickup a few days prior by the dispatcher Tyler, who informed me my vehicles would be picked up between 2-4pm, with a 30 minute warning. At 315pm, I texted the driver and Tyler, and Tyler replied stating he would be available at 340pm at the location discussed. No 30 minute warning, not a big deal since I carved this time out of my schedule to have the cars picked up, but it was within the window and location discussed. Many others have run into issues of missing the pickup window and even the location, so good job so far! I linked up with the driver, who was quite friendly, Mr. Kim. I watched Mr. Kim drive one of my two vehicles up the bed of the truck. The truck is a two layer truck for transporting vehicles, and he decided to load my rear wheeled vehicle on the top bed in reverse. No problem with that, but the fact that basic physics should say more weight should be put on the wheels that tied to the transmission, otherwise this will cause the tires to slip a bit. And it did. And cheese grated my brand new $800 set of run flats to oblivion. Outstanding job. Once loaded, the car was fine, except for the fact that the driver also decided to top this off by manually closing my power mirrors. Like I said, I am still in the middle of the move, they are still on the road as I write this, so I have not had time to inspect. The second car was loaded on the lower bed just fine, no grating of the tires or hitting the roof. I have uploaded pictures of the rubber reminisce on the truck. I do have to say that the driver was careful getting in and out of the vehicles and ratcheting down the tires to the bed to ensure he would not scratch the body. I will update this when my cars are delivered. Update: 5/10/2018: In the middle of my move, both cars did arrive. The gentleman who coordinated the move was excellent, friendly, and seemed to know what he was talking about. He unloaded the cars, and I immediately noticed damage to my car. It appears the latches for the tire straps hit both rocker panels, and left decent sized scrapes. I submitted a claim the same day with the driver, who also noticed it when he loaded it up on his truck. I also emailed in to report the issue, same day (Saturday). And it took them over a week to pick my car from CA. Meanwhile, I've been in my new residence for over a week having to get a rental to go to work. Very disappointed. As you can see from other reviews, this company is really inconsistent in service. My car wasn't damaged, so I guess I'm luckier than a lot other reviewers. And I put a lot of stuff in it (you just have to pay $100 fee), and none of it was missing or damaged, so thank you for that. The reason I'm giving such a bad review is that the car arrived SIX AND A HALF HOURS past the estimated delivery time and the door-to-door service thing is a total lie. So, I was first told that he would be arriving between 3 and 5, and he called me at 2:30 to let me know he'd be there in an hour (3:30). So I left work early to head home. Halfway home on an hour long commute, he called to say that he "had a schedule change" and would be there between 7 and 9 PM. I told him to please try to arrive before sundown. I did not want to have to unload my car after dark. He finally arrived at 10 PM!!! But not to my house. He told me he couldn't come to my house because the street was too steep. Other excuses included: can't fit the truck in narrow roads or if there are cars parked on the road. I told him to go down one more block and he could access the neighborhood with a much more gradual hill. He said okay and hung up. Then he called me back to say that HE WASN'T ALLOWED TO GO INTO RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS and his boss told him they would pay for me to take an uber or lyft... I finally got my car at 10:15. The driver was nice, and it was quick and easy. The car is very dirty on the outside and dusty inside... Which, fine, I can get it cleaned. I'm just pissed that it wasn't actually door to door either direction, and that I left work early for a car that arrived SIX AND A HALF HOURS LATE. Also they insisted upon cash or cashier's check, which is like... are you lying to the IRS? What's happening here? Whatever - just something for you to be aware of. read more

I had an awful experience with this company. The pick up of my car was several days late. The delivery of my car was approximately 2 weeks late. I received my car with the spare tire, which was broken off my car in transit, thrown in the back seat - damaging my upholstery. I was assured by Transauto Logistics upon delivery over the telephone that I would be reimbursed in the claims process AND . .. . my claim was just conveniently denied. I asked the owner, "Harry Cho" to call me back because I assumed there must have been a mistake in the denial of my claim. After all, my spare tire had NOT been broken off when the car was picked up from my home prior to transit and I sent in numerous pictures demonstrating undeniable damage to my upholstery. No such luck!! Mr. Cho denied my claim after my car had been damaged while in his company's hands and the driver admitted to having put the tire INSIDE my car. The way this company took NO ownership of damaging my property is absolutely absurd. The fact that the owner argued with me about the damages instead of taking care of his customers is disgraceful. I would not recommend this company. I am, however, filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Department of Transportation. read more

The driver of one of their 18 wheeler trucks full of vehicles nearly through my 10 year old and I off highway i5 today in California while heading to Disneyland. We were on the left lane nearly half way into passing this truck when he decided to change lanes into us. The freeway was empty so I can only attribute this to irresponsible or distracted driving, neither quality which you'd want on someone you put in charge of a massive vehicle that harm others. Absolutely terrible experience. I agreed to the price. They picked up the car from my young daughter, bullied her into paying $1250 after price agreed to by me, her father, was $1,000. They never called me to let me know even though I was the contact on the job. I paid for the car to be delivered to a specific address and they told me if I wanted the car I had to drive to their truck, which took me over an hour of my time in the middle of my work day. Their driver didn't speak or understand English. I was told they accepted Cash App and they wouldn't, and then the driver insulted me by driving my car back on the truck (like I was going to run off with it) while I got my company to send a PayPal. If you use a broker, be very careful who they are contracting with and do not use Transauto. read more

I used Transauto to transport my son's 2003 Subaru across country from Mt. Airy, MD to Flagstaff, AZ. The driver, Mr Kim, arrived on the promised date and within the 2-hr. time window we had agreed upon. He carefully inspected our car and loaded it onto the transport with great care. He was very courteous, thorough and professional. The car was loaded and on its way by 2:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 8 To my surprise, Mr Kim told me the car would be delivered in Flagstaff late Thursday night, February 11, between 7:00-9:00pm. If it was after dark, he would deliver it early Friday morning and willing to accommodate our schedule. The Transauto dispatcher in California, and his manager kept in contact with us throughout the trip, and giving us updates. Great communication and responsiveness. The car was actually delivered early, just after 5:00pm Flagstaff time on Thursday. Transauto was always very courteous and gave us accurate updated information all along the way. Gave us plenty of notice of when they would arrive. Unbelievable he could travel 2200 miles in just over 3 days! The car arrived covered in fine dust, but that was to be expected in an open transport of this distance. It was inspected and released and without any damage. The interior was pristine as when it was first loaded . Mr Kim was extremely helpful and professional in every way and was given a $100.00 tip in gratitude. I want to thank the most competent staff at TransAuto Logistics for making this a very easy and painless accomplishment. Transauto Logistics is unqualified, unaccountable and unprofessional. They were contracted by AutoGo (who was contracted by Paxton, who was hired my my company to manage our move) to move our Corolla from Alexandria, VA to San Diego, CA. When we brought the car to be loaded, the driver demanded $200 cash, reportedly for the 2 boarding bag sized suitcases in the trunk. He reduced the demanded tip/backsheesh to $100, and pointed at each of the other cars on the load saying "$100, $200, $200.). As it seemed he was refusing to load the car as we stood there in the rain he climbed in his cab and ignored us, only yelling $100 out his window), we called AutoGo (who had said we could put suitcases in the car) twice before it seemingly was resolved. And we gave the driver a $50 "tip" worried about our car. Well, it arrived damaged. Martin at Transauto called when I sent in a video of the side view mirror whose housing seemed ripped off (screws were shredded) and mirror casing shakes. Martin asked if we had seen how the car was loaded and concluded that because it was on top of the cab facing backwards, the pressure of the wind at high speed going across the country against the mirrors, the position on the truck has caused this. Apparently the driver had not folded back the mirrors (as we have seen on every single auto hauling truck since). We assume their driver did this deliberately since we had refused his demand for more cash. then proceeded to say they had no liability because "it is the nature of the beast" and that he could not blame the driver! Crazily, when I said "you are admitting the manner in which the car was loaded caused the damage, but not accepting responsibility", he replied that if we had explicitly asked it be loaded properly it would be different (the customer is supposed to know more than the company whose business it is to haul cars). NO ONE should be moving their car with Transauto Logistics. read more

From start to finish they were horrible. They continually gave me wrong information, called the wrong phone number and were going to pick up at a location different than agreed upon. Every time i asked why the changes i was told that the last person i talked to shouldn't have told me that. It took 11 days to get my cars from Ct. to Ca., and when I complained about the late delivery, the dispatcher hung up on me. The next day he said he didn't want to deliver my cars at all but the broker had convinced them to deliver. The cars were filthy when finally delivered. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING TRANS AUTO. Transported 2 of our cars and one sustained significant water damage in transit... TransAuto would not take responsibility for the damage that cost us as much as the transport of the vehicle. Had to pay out-of-pocket because they would not cover damages... had no choice in who transported cars because of relo through CROWN... if given a choice, choose wisely! UPDATE: Discovered that our car was placed with trunk facing forward, above the cab of the semi-trailer transport truck... no wonder the trunk leaked, at 80 mph into whatever weather was happening for 3000 miles cross-country. What kind of logic suggests that you place a car backwards on a transport? I doubt that wind-tunnel tests are ever conducted on vehicles facing backwards, since that is not the direction you drive at highway speeds... DUH!!!! FOLLOWUP: After just reading the response posted here from Transauto Logistics, I feel that I need to set the record straight. They did not cover the full cost of the damage to the vehicle, which was over $2,000...we received a check for $1,000. I agree that it was unfair for us to have covered ANY of the cost of damage to our car...it is disingenuous of them to suggest that they made us whole! read more

Friends gave the keys to the driver in San Diego after I departed. Another friend received my car in Newport before I arrived. All in one piece beautiful and no damages.Driver delivered in front of my house on time. The price was exactly what was on my receipt nothing more. I recommend this to everyone. On day number 10 I contacted there Ca office to locate my car only to be finally told then that it would be late due to mechanical problems and would be there/contacted by following day. I was also told that they are still within that time because its only been 5 days which was not true. I do not hear until 2 more days later that my car can only be delivered late this after noon. By far my worst experience with a company yet. All in all, being late was not the huge issue for me but the lack of customer service. I booked Trans Auto through a broker, and if I needed to ship a car again, I would contact them and request to work with them directly. My car was picked up a day late, but I presume it was because the broker wasn't being honest. Juan, the driver, was on time to the pick up location that he told me when I finially got ahold of TAL directly. He was friendly and thorough with his inspection. He also offered me a lot of insight on cross country shipping and answered all my questions. The car was delivered at record speed (9 days from Boston to LA). It arrived before I did, so they held it for a few days without any additional charge. When they delivered to my door step they were clear about timing. The car was dirty (as expected) but scratch free. Not even a mile was put on the odometer. I would definitely use these guys again if I can bypass the uncommunicative broker (Sun Auto Transport). read more

So far..I couldn't be happier. The reason I say so far is because I haven't actually used them..yet. For the last month I have been researching Auto transport companies and it has been a nightmare! First I put on my facebook for friends to give me any companies that they had personally used. Only a few got back to me and once the ones that did found out I had a lifted jeep they tried to tack on another $800...ya bye! About a week ago I was leaving work-stressed to the max (did I mention I'm moving back to the East Coast from San Diego and planning my wedding ) -thank god for tequila...anyways back to my story- A week ago I was driving home and happened to see a Trans Auto truck actually hooking up a jeep right in front of my house. IT WAS A SIGN:) I jumped out of my car and ran over to talk to the driver. The driver ended up being this incredibly nice, real,and funny guy named Nelson. I think he thought I was running over to yell at him so he was a little taken back at first. I talked his ear off for a little bit and told him the trouble I was having and how my phone will not stop ringing with crazy expensive offers because I had put my contact info on a search to get a quote. He was so informative and REAL about the broker prices other companies charge you. Long story short he gave me a business card and told me to call and ask for his brother Martin the very next day. I did, he emailed me a WONDERFUL price and I am now waiting for my pick up date at the end of the month :) So with that said-so far my experience with these guys has been the least stressful thing going on in my life! We just had our daughters car transported from Los Angles to North Carolina, we had never been through this process before. I did use a broker who set us up with Transauto Logistics. After we were given the contact number for Transauto I started my research. I was a little put-off after reading some negative reviews but we were in a time crunch so I gave the go ahead. Transauto did pick the car up a day later than the day we had arranged but we were notified in advance. The driver that came to the house for pick up was professional and courteous. He did load the car and take it back to the yard in Downey, we were told the transport truck would be leaving Thursday evening. The car we were transporting has a locating device on it, this was both good and bad. I could see that the car had not left the yard, so I put in a call and the dispatcher was kind and gave me the up date. The transport truck would not be leaving until Saturday morning. We needed the car there by Thursday, I started to stress. I tracked the car across the country, I thought there was no way the car would make it to NC on time. Our destination contact person received a call Tuesday asking if he would be available for delivery later that day. The car arrived a day early in the condition we sent it in. I only gave 4 stars because the car was not delivered to the location we had agreed upon. Our delivery contact in NC had to travel about 12 miles to meet the driver for delivery. read more

Then when I got to the location (which incidentally was miles from where I lived and in a remote industrial area with no cabs or public transportation......they expected a "friend or family member" to pick you up, yeah at 1 in the afternoon on a weekday) they said they needed to take another car off their transport truck to make room for mine and charged me for the vehicle that was removed. I had to pay an extra $600 on top of the extra $100. $700 more than the original quote!!! I had no choice as I was moving the next day. I have never written a review before but felt that the service I received from TransAuto Logistics deserved it! My dad was there for the vehicle pick-up and said the driver inspected my car thoroughly and was very nice and professional. My car was was then transported from Delaware to California in just 7 days! I received a phone call the day before from two different people - I think one was the driver who transported the car across the country and the other was a local delivery driver (Edy Ortiz). Edy phoned me both the day before to give me an estimated time of delivery and again the morning of delivery to confirm. He was willing to change the location of delivery (within a couple miles of the original destination) with no problem at all. Edy arrived promptly and was so friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and professional! Thank you, Edy! Great service all around by Transauto Logistics.
