This year we decided to try out the swim lessons. They are Red Cross Certified and the same ones we take through Cardel Place, just less time. This was initially a concern for me and in the end my son didn't do so well (but then again he didn't do so well at Cardel either). My daughter on the other hand excelled in her lessons. For those kids that might be slower on the uptake of learning (like my son in swimming) I'm not so sure missing out on 2 hours of learning time (Highwood 2.5 hours vs Cardel 4 hours) is to their (or his) advantage. I know of another 4 yr/old who has had to repeat his lessons a couple of times at Highwood so again the amount of learning time raises a question. I certainly like the facility, it's clean, everyone who works there is friendly and clearly loves their job, the instructors really good, but I think less instructional time is not good for kids who are having challenges. One of my doctors has been coming here for years for lessons and has also expressed the same concerns regarding time constraints (I ran into her this week). Great place for an afternoon with the kids and they offer summer camps here - how fun!

This place is also crammed with as much stuff as could possibly fit in the place. Which means they have a decent selection of useful things and stuff that doesn't matter.... The back end offers high quality office items at slightly higher prices than some places, but it is quality.

Cobbs Adventure Park in Calgary AB was definitely a great and fun place to visit !!!…read moreIt is a mix of zoo, activities, games and rides for the kids and family, a little restaurant and sweets stand :) The zoo is a bit of an animal farm with two capybaras, kangaroos and wallabies, sheep, goats, pigs, porcupines, emus, chickens / roosters and a turkey, and a sloth. Part of the experience is that, with the purchase of tickets, you can go into the capybara enclosure and meet the capys, feed and pet them. We are big fans of capybaras, we saw them in person at the Edmonton zoo, and follow many accounts on Instagram, but this was our first time meeting and petting them. They are super relaxed and super friendly. We had the opportunity to feed them fruits and greens, which was so funny!! We then visited the kangaroos and wallabies. Both were friendly, soft and used to humans. We visited with them, and fed them foods. We visited and interacted with the sheep and alpacas, which were also nice to see and pet. The staff of the park were very friendly and professional, and answered any questions visitors would have about animals. The ambiance was very nice - visiting with the animals, having a snack or busy with the games, it was a great day to enjoy the outdoors and animals!!

Then just recently Pinnovate celebrated their first birthday party. At their birthday their was complimentary goodies from cobs bakery, complimentary ice cream or gelato from Fiasco gelato, pizza from coco brooks and coffee from rosso coffee roasters.
