Probably one of the worst massages I've gotten in a while, staff is very hit or miss. I got a 90 minute lymphatic drainage and honestly it seemed like the masseuse didn't know what she was doing. Weird techniques that made me feel borderline uncomfortable. Also the hallway outside the room I was in was pretty noisy and really messed with the vibe. I had already paid before the service started, and at the end of the massage right before I left, [[HIGHLIGHT]]one of the masseuse's had the AUDACITY to ask me for a tip ???? so unprofessional[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] i've never had that happen before, would not recommend whatsoever save your money. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but this one's worth it. I booked a hydrating facial with Sophia and she did such a great job. The whole appointment felt really calm. She was gentle, paid attention to the details, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. You can tell she takes pride in her work. My skin felt super hydrated afterward, soft and fresh, and it actually looked better too. If you're thinking about getting a facial, I'd recommend booking with Sophia. I visited this establishment while in Walnut Creek visiting my parents, specifically seeking a professional lymphatic massage for post-surgery recovery. I was charged an extra $25 for this 'specialized' service, but it was one of the most disappointing and concerning experiences I have ever had. ​As someone recovering from surgery, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a critical part of my healing process. MLD requires a very specific, light, and directional touch to move toxins and fluid toward the lymph nodes. However, the therapist here was clearly untrained and lacked even a basic understanding of lymphatic pathways. The strokes were completely disorganized, moving up and down in a chaotic manner rather than following the correct anatomical direction. The pressure was also incredibly inconsistent--at times far too heavy--which is the opposite of what a post-op patient needs. ​Most alarmingly, the therapist Jenny incorrect technique and heavy-handedness put a noticeable strain on my heart. As an individual with an existing heart condition, this was not just a poor service; it felt physically dangerous. Proper communication is vital in a clinical massage setting, yet there was a significant language barrier that made it impossible to explain my discomfort or correct the therapist's movements. My concerns were completely ignored because they weren't understood. ​It is unacceptable to charge a $25 premium for a 'specialized' service when the staff is not properly certified or trained to perform it safely. I felt cheated out of my money and, more importantly, I left feeling physically worse than when I arrived. I would have been much better off staying home and listening to music. If you are looking for actual post-surgical care or professional MLD, please avoid this place. They are charging professional prices for unprofessional, disorganized, and potentially hazardous work. read more

The experience at Tranquility was honestly very disappointing from start to finish. When I first arrived, I was told that I needed to pay for the massage upfront. While that's not unheard of, it already felt a bit unusual and set a slightly uncomfortable tone for the visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, what really caught me off guard was that before the massage had even started, they asked me how much I planned to tip. Being asked about the tip amount before receiving any service felt awkward and inappropriate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It made me feel pressured and took away from what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, things didn't improve once the massage began. I was expecting a professional and comfortable session, but instead, I found it difficult to relax. The therapist's belly was frequently pressed against my body, which made me feel uncomfortable and distracted throughout the session. On top of that, the pressure wasn't what I had asked for. It was either inconsistent or just not satisfying, and I didn't feel like the massage met the standard I was hoping for. By the end of the session, I still felt tense rather than refreshed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though I wasn't happy with the experience, I still left a $10 tip out of courtesy. I recently went to Tranquility Spa for a massage and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The massage therapist applied a lot of pressure to my neck using her elbow, causing me a great deal of pain. I kept wincing throughout the session and tried to ask her to be gentler, and when she used a hot towel on my back, she pressed so hard that it felt like I was being burned. I had to ask her to remove the towel. I was disappointed with the service I received at Tranquility Spa and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable massage. The massage therapist was very rough and did not pay attention to my needs and preferences. I specifically asked for a gentle massage, but she used her elbow on my neck with such force that it left me in pain for day. when she used a hot towel on my back, she applied too much pressure, causing me to feel like I was being suffocated.I would not recommend this spa to anyone. I hope they can improve their services and train their staff to listen to their clients' needs and provide a more relaxing massage experience in the future. read more

Booked the 60 minute Signature Massage with Anna. Had a great experience overall. I showed up 15 minutes early to my appointment, once I checked in, I was shown to my room immediately and I didn't have to wait long for my masseuse. Overall, I enjoyed the massage, she checked in about the pressure and firmness once she started. And I was asked about problem areas or areas to focus on before I went in. The only weird thing was that, for the first 15 minutes, she massaged with the sheet in-between, so it was a bit rough. Other than that, it was great. I was hesitant with the strip mall location, but the inside was very clean and the staff was professional. It was really easy to book online and the price was very reasonable - $120 for 90 minutes. I had a short list of things bothering me - low back, neck etc but before I could start talking, Michelle K did a few gentle nudges on my back and neck to evaluate my situation and then went to work without a word and found all the perfect spots. I still felt relaxed and tension free several days later. She is an artist. I am very hard to impress with massage, I need just the right pressure to get it right and usually have to guide the masseuse. She needed no instruction, she did some unusual hard pressure on the bottom of my feet and would apply pressure then stretch, then more pressure, then stretch to get in deep without making me jump off the table. The spa is located in a strip mall between TJMaxx and Footwear Etc. I was able to walk in and get an appointment with Carrie on the spot. Spa is clean and spacious and separated by actual rooms - with doors! I had the 60 minute combo (35 min body massage and 25 min feet). Typically I don't like female massage therapist but Carrie was fantastic! (Thanks for the rec Yelpers!). Her technique is similar to the therapists at the fancy spas-using a combination of flow, forearms and elbow. It was very relaxing. The only con is that the massage table is stationery and not adjustable so she had to climb a little onto the table to reach further. Otherwise everything else was great! There was no consent form or conversation prior to the massage-- the entire process lacked communication. It was a really anxiety inducing experience and the massage itself wasn't good, even with my instructions on what I was looking for. There was no music so the room was just silent and I could hear everything happening outside my room. My masseuse continued to massage my glutes despite me repeatedly telling her to avoid that area. A completely mediocre massage. The facility is large and looks nice and the staff are friendly and all, but they just did an OK job. I got a 1hr deep tissue massage and parts of it were great and parts of it were bone on bone (elbow to base of skull) and just painful. The sheets felt rough and cheap and they didn't use an ankle support for the first part of the massage, which didn't feel great. Also, this is the first time that I've been a new customer at a massage therapist / spa and filled out now paperwork (liability, health history, injury history, etc.) and had basically no discussion or interaction with the therapist before they got to work, which made the whole thing feel impersonal. read more

Second visit to Tranquility spa after a month of traveling for work, sleeping in different beds, airplane seats and cars. My back and body feel rejuvenated after my massage therapy w/ Jenny. The space appears to be completely finished and it feels amazing inside! Though I normally fill out their survey/form whenever I need specific attention, this time, Jenny (per usual) was able to feel exactly where my tightness and knots were and work on those spots with perfection! If ever you do need specific areas of attention, I've always had an amazing experience filling out their form before hand and just taking a moment to discuss with their associate at the front desk exactly where and what pressure. Between here and their sister spa in Pleasant Hill (Serenity Spa) I've always had an amazing experience when I take a second to discuss. But w/ Jenny, I've followed her here and thankfully we have both taken the time to learn exactly what I need done and it's a win win. Take the time and your massage will be more than fine! read more
