I had a great experience at my bridal trial. Most brides like the natural makeup look, which is what Trang tends to post on her IG. But I wanted to be glammed out -- the whole nine yards. She is so skilled and versatile. I asked her for heavy contour and dramatic eyes, and she definitely delivered! She made my double chin go away and gave my flat nose the illusion I had a nose ridge LOL. She is very meticulous and doesn't skip any steps. I also love love LOVE her custom lashes! Trang is an amazing hair and make up artist, and works miracles on monolid eyes along with volumizing hairstyles. She goes above and beyond to make sure your day is amazing:) I first learned of Trang from my cousin Diana V. who had gotten married in January 2019 (see her 5 star review) and my younger cousin Hannah. From my cousins, I learned and observed of not only how skilled Trang is, but how down to earth and attentive she is. Diana had her wedding and did her trial with Trang, and took my cousin Hannah too. They said not only how skilled she was, but she made sure they were hydrated with fresh soybean milk:) Hearing that warmed my heart. When it came to my own wedding, my cousin told me that Trang was pregnant and not sure if she would be available, but to call to find out. I also had other cousins who had makeup artist suggestions that I tried to explore. Luckily, I spoke with Trang and she was available! After speaking with Trang over the phone and hearing her warm spirit and kind considerations in wedding preparations, I decided to go with her. I skipped the trial knowing how skilled she was, and just had her do my make up for my Đám Hoi (Vietnamese engagement ceremony). I showed a couple of hairstyles that would accommodate the khăn đóng (headpiece) for my Áo dài (traditional Vietnamese dress). And was she able to deliver!! On top of that, I learned about her skill in working with monolid eyes! I had done makeup before as a bridesmaid, but never had I had the delight of having a makeup artist who incorporated eyelid tape into my make up session to open up my eyes. I told her "Where have you been all my life!". I highly recommend Trang for those that have monolids, as she is very skilled with using the tape with the eye make up for it and can completely "trangform" your look. Friends and family loved my makeup and hair, and I was repeatedly told to make sure that my wedding make up was the same. For my wedding, I did two looks with her. The first was an updo and the second was down for a mermaid-like look. Trang suggested hair extensions and places to go to buy them at a good price. However, two weeks before the wedding, I went with a plan that my hairstylist and I had hatched when I was first engaged to highlight my hair. However, I should have consulted with Trang and realized that after going to hair extension shops, that it was hard to match my hair color. Trang went above and beyond to meet me at the shops days before the wedding to help me match the newly highlighted hair, but unfortunately, it was not able to be matched. She reassured me that I had enough hair without the extensions and she would work with it. As for my wedding day, Trang and her make up assistant were awesome. They worked on my bridesmaids and I. One of them has monolids like me, and she loved the "trangformation" of her eyes. Trang did miracles with my hair...as she was able to create a voluminous look for me without the hair extensions. Visitors into my bridal room kept commenting on how much hair I had! Wedding 5/13/23. To say that Trang Do exceeded my wedding stylist expectations is quite the understatement! I had gotten so frustrated looking for a stylist given the ridiculous pricing that is now custom in LA. Trang was exceptionally priced in comparison! We did a hair/makeup trial at her studio to make sure the wedding look was what I wanted. With minimal input from me, she created a masterpiece! Given my hair texture unfortunately, the curls did not stay through the day of the trial, so Trang worked with me on a new plan to ensure the curls lasted through the wedding day. And it worked!
