I seriously cannot rave enough about Trang. She did my engagement photoshoot hair/makeup and I fell in love. Then she did such an incredible job on my wedding hair & makeup. She really took the time to understand my face, my hair, and what I was going for; and not just the vibe, but how to make it actually work with my features. I loved how patient she was with me during the whole process, how open she was to adjusting things and making sure everything felt like "me." My makeup and hair lasted all night -- no smudging, no frizzing, nothing moved. She even got creative and made my first hairstyle easily transformable into my second look, which was such a lifesaver and turned out so pretty. She wasn't just focused on me either, she made sure everyone in my bridal party and both moms were happy, comfortable, and feeling beautiful. It truly took so much stress off the day. On top of all that, she's just someone you instantly click with. She's outgoing, fun, and so easy to talk to, which made the whole getting-ready process feel relaxed and honestly so enjoyable. Truly the best experience. I'm already planning to use her for any and every event in the future. Highly recommend!!
If you're looking for a HMU for your wedding, look no further!! Trang was so amazing from her responsiveness in the initial planning stages all the way until day of. She answered text messages, gave me advice when I had questions about the Vietnamese Khan Dong, and made sure that I felt excited and comfortable leading up to the day of. This was my third time getting my make up done (previously as a bridesmaid and for my city hall wedding) and this was by far my favorite!! She truly understands how to work with asian features which was really important for me. She used air brush foundation which lasted me through 90 degree weather for photos in the park all the way through late into the night. It didn't feel heavy either and didn't transfer which was important to me because I'm not used to wearing a lot of make up. I also loved my eye shadow and lash application, it was my first time having top and bottom lashes!! My hair also lasted all day and night, through many outfit changes and LOTS OF DANCING! The extension installation was great!! She also made great recommendations, analyzing my face shape and what styles would be most flattering. Trang was so sweet and nice, which was just a fun bonus. She was meticulous and really took the time to make sure her work was perfect! Also she was kind enough to lend my friend her curling iron. I am so thankful that I found Trang!! Thank you so much for making me feel beautiful on my big day!
Trang was great! she did a wonderful job on my hair and makeup for my wedding! I felt amazing and so beautiful! She is so sweet and easy to talk to! you wouldn't even feel like the HMU trail and the day of took 3-4hrs each! she's very attentive to details and discusses what works and doesn't work during the trail so day of was a breeze. no surprises. everything went as I'd like. i loved all the products she used and my hair and skin had no issues at all. It was really hot for March in SoCal but the make and hair held up. i didn't even feel like i needed to use the touch up kit- but i loved that Trang gave me one just in case - especially for photos. We needed another make up artist as well to help the day of- Kim from her team was just as amazing and sweet too talk to. My sisters and mom's make up was beautiful as well! We just got our photos and they are absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend her and would definitely use her again for future events :) Thank you so much, Trang!
Trang did my bridal hair and makeup and I loved her work so much! She is so sweet, kind, communicative, and skillful at what she does. I had a hair and makeup trial a couple of weeks before my big day, and she was very accommodating of what I wanted and also helped me decide on things I wasn't so sure about, such as the hairstyle. She introduced me to a cute half-up, half-down hairstyle I didn't know about, that I fell in love with and ended up going with. She also gave me some good advice to help me prep my skin better (like stopping use of Retin-A cream so that my skin isn't so dry for makeup) for the wedding day. On the wedding day itself, my hair and makeup lasted all day, even in windy beach conditions. My photographer was also impressed with how well my hair stayed put and held the curls, and was like "I'll have to remember her [Trang's] contact info" and "she knows what she's doing!" I would wholeheartedly recommend Trang and am so happy I chose her to beautify me on my special day!
Requested last minute service for my wedding and they were so understanding and efficient in responding and accepting my situation. Had a trial done and loved the full service and attentiveness to what I wanted for my big day. Wedding Day: All artists were excellent in service and adapting to my location. Absolutely obsessed over my hair and makeup and got the best compliments. Trang is amazing and made me feel so special on my day definitely recommend!
I got my makeup done by Megan and hair done by Trang. I appreciated Megan not only doing an amazing job with my makeup but also answering all my questions about what products she used and recommended! My makeup stayed on like a dream from 8am-10:30pm - no touch up besides a final lip application at 12pm. I usually can't last with lashes on but they didn't bother me at all. Amazing highly recommend Megan! As for Trang, my hair was done in a waterfall curls and it was stunning! It lasted from 9am-10:30pm despite me definitely sweating. I was MOH so Trang was doing hair and makeup for the bride and she was so helpful in instructing me how to put/switch the veil on the bride and also how to change the hair pins (outfit change). She even packed a really handy emergency kit filled with bobby pins and makeup touchups. Overall super happy with the results and friendliness of Megan and Trang. Highly recommend!
Trang and her team were amazing to work with! She was quick, professional, and made me and my bridesmaids feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. My hair and makeup turned out absolutely gorgeous. Best part is that my hair held up the whole night from first look to ceremony to the after party. I felt so glamorous and confident on my wedding day. Highly recommend her to any bride!
I'm generally very minimal with my hair and make up and consider myself a tom boy. But for my wedding, I wanted to make sure I looked the part and Trang and her colleagues came highly recommended. I never thought I could look so glamorous (or "soft glam" as Trang puts it). I very much felt like a Chinese movie star from another era! If you're thinking about going extra in looks for your wedding, look no further than Trang.
Trang and her team (Cyndi, Megan, and Rosie) are incredibly talented! We had a total of 11 ladies (My mom, mother in law, aunt, 7 bridesmaids, and me) and we all looked and felt so beautiful on my big day. Trang is the best! She understood my vision when I showed her my Pinterest board inspo and my bridal hair & makeup turned out more beautiful than I could ever imagine. I can't stress enough how great Trang and her team are. If you are looking for makeup and hair for a wedding or event, look no further. When I first reached out to her she replied quickly and clearly answered all my questions. I was really anxious about getting my hair done, it has a lot of new growth as a result of cancer treatment. Trang was patient and kind, she eased all my worries and I don't know how she did it but she worked some miracles and gave me the exact look I wanted. As for makeup I have never felt more beautiful in my life. She was such a a joy to have as part of the day. The friendleness and excitement she brings to the day made me feel special and comfortable. We stared as 5:45am and had two makeup artists. Everyone got done with hair and makeup on time or early so we were not rushing around. Trang focused on me while the other artist handled my maid of honor, mom and niece. If I could give more stars I would. I would highly recommend you have her as part of your day.

Trang deserves more than 5 stars!!! As someone who does not wear make up regularly, I didn't know what I was looking for in a hair and make up artist for our big day. Trang set up a phone call with me and relieved some of my worry. I found her on Instagram and saw that she specializes and does make up and hair for Asian and Asian Americans sooo well! And after speaking with her, I knew I had to book her. I ended up having Trang for an engagement trial (yes, I'm a little extra), engagement shoot, wedding trial, and wedding day. I had her team work on my MIL and bridesmaids too. We did two different looks. My engagement was much more romantic and my wedding day was a more natural. I had her come for touch ups on my wedding day after the ceremony and before the reception. Best decision. She added some ompft to my look! I even found out from my bridesmaids that she helped touch them up a little bit too. Thank you, Trang!! Trang is a super good listener. Listened to my needs and concerns. She's also fun to talk to, friendly, super professional. An added plus is that my Vietnamese MIL had a good experience and was able to speak with her in Vietnamese. Trang and her team listen to what style you are going for, and they will make it happen . I wanted something soft and timeless, not trendy. Trang is definitely my fairy god mother! We clicked right away from the moment we spoke over the phone. I told her my vision which she delivered flawlessly. She is the sweetest and super talented! I found Trang through my sister, cousin and friend. She did all their makeup for their wedding day and they all looked amazing. I came to her house to do my bridal trial and she was very knowledgeable about all the different hairstyles and makeup looks. We discussed what I liked and didn't like and she just worked her magic. On the wedding day she was prompt and brought so much gear with her. I broke out on my chin leading up to the wedding due to stress but she was able to cover it up and make it look natural. Overall I am very impressed with her professionalism and skills. I would totally book her again for other life events! read more

Trang is AMAZING! She is so kind, professional, and truly listens to your needs. I never wear makeup, so she explained the entire process to me in detail and was very easy to communicate with. We did a trial earlier in the year and she took great notes to make sure I would be happy for the big day. I wanted a "natural" look and really believe I got it! She came for two days in a row and gave me two makeup and hair looks that matched the Tea Ceremony and Wedding Day occasions perfectly! Everyone knows hair and make up can take a long time, but Trang kept the vibes going and made sure I was relaxed and comfortable the whole time. Trang is the best! She made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day. I had two bridal trials with her and she was so sweet both times. She's so easy to talk to and made me feel so much at ease. I have combo skin where my cheeks are dry but I have an oily t-zone, particularly my nose! Usually makeup on my nose will start to dissolve within a few hours. Trang fixed that issue and I barely had to powder my nose through out the day. My makeup lasted 12 hours and we took outdoor pics during the peak of the day when it was pretty hot out! Trang and her team are absolutely amazing!! Trang worked on my wedding hair and makeup and she made me feel like an absolute princess. She does traditional and airbrush makeup. Because of my oily acne prone skin, Trang did a combination technique of traditional and airbrush for me. My makeup lasted all night and none of my blemishes peaked through!! My wedding hair looked exactly like my Pinterest photo and the curls lasted through the entire night as well. And that is saying a lot because I have straight Asian hair. Trang's team also did an amazing job on hair and makeup for my sister, mom, grandma, and bridesmaids. The makeup and hair lasted all night long for them as well. My mom kept raving about how much she loved her hair and makeup. I've already recommended her to all of my engaged friends. I will continue to recommend her to everyone!! Trang and Linda did such an amazing job beautifying my girls and I. She is so easy to talk to and so friendly. She takes her time throughout the whole process even during the makeup trial!! They were both so patient with us when we wanted to change something or if we weren't sure what we wanted. My MIL probably asked to fix her makeup/hair like 3 times, I felt so bad, but they were so nice and accommodating. Trang did an amazing job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. I felt so beautiful all night and got tons of compliments on both my hair and makeup! She also did some of the hair for my bridesmaids and Cyndi did their hair and makeup as well. They both did a phenomenal job! Everyone felt beautiful and everyone's makeup and hair stayed all night. Trang is one of the nicest MUHA. She consults, offer suggestions and will work with you. She was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule so that I could have the best photo perfect picture. I am so happy I picked Trang and her team to do my wedding hair and makeup! Trang is so sweet and skilled at what she does. I do not wear makeup regularly so I asked for a soft glam look and provided inspiration photos. Trang was able to suggest what makeup would look best for my skin tone and completely nailed it! The way she styled my hair also made me feel like a princess. I had a large wedding party (total of 9 people including me) and needed to finish getting ready by 8:30AM for an early tea ceremony on the wedding day. Trang was able to provide a team of 5 artists for max efficiency and the process went so smoothly! I feel like this is super rare because other vendors I contacted could only provide 2 artists which would have resulted in a much earlier start time. Trang is amazing! I booked her to do bridal hair and makeup for my wedding after looking around Yelp. She was available and I immediately put down a deposit. I showed her inspiration pictures of hair and makeup of what I wanted to look like for my wedding and she killed it! She is very sweet and talented. She even helped me put on my veil and made sure it was secure. Everyone kept giving me compliments on my makeup. My wedding was outside at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach and my hair did not move! My makeup was still flawless after eating and drinking and dancing. It was hot that day and I was sweating but my makeup stayed flawless. She also did my mom's hair and makeup and she delivered. you wanna know how much I love Trang's work? Before I had even was dating my now-husband, years ago, I was in a friend's wedding and she did my make up. I have never look so good so I was so excited to get married one day and hire her. Flash forward to this past year I got to work with her. I feel like I don't need to say much and you could just see her amazing work in the pictures. I specifically chose her because she knows how to do Asian and make up even with eyelid tape if you want it! She did my bridal party (all non-Asian) and family's hair and make up as well with her team. It was just as amazing. Trang is just a doll...so positive and sweet to work with. My friend recommended chi Trang to me. After looking through her insta and profile, I loved her makeup style. I contacted chi Trang and had her as my makeup artist for my wedding day. She was nothing but fabulous. Not only was she professional, respectful, punctual but also kind and thoughtful. She did make up for my mom and I, and we got tons of compliments from friends and family. I also got my hair colored with chi Trang, and it was also great. She made sure to space my appointments out so I could have the desired hair color on my wedding date. She gave me advises on how to maintain my hair color. I hired Trang's team for my bridesmaids' hair and makeup last weekend and all my bridesmaids had a positive experience. Her team arrived on time and was very accommodating to each bridesmaid's style. Where do I even begin? Trang is phenomenal at her craft, has an amazing energy and is unbelievably easy to work with. Most importantly she can troubleshoot and problem solve on non-makeup/hair last minute wedding issues to make your day run smoothly. I was originally booked with another makeup artist, Drea, who wasn't available when I had to change my wedding date due to covid. Drea put me in touch with Trang and to be honest, I was nervous because other than a quick instagram stalk, I didn't see many Indian girls on Trang's page. Knowing that I was going to have a very traditional Indian wedding with bold makeup looks, I hoped I would be in good hands. A few weeks before the wedding, I jumped on a call with Trang. I had screenshots from Pinterest ready but I didn't even need them. In a 30 minute conversation, Trang was able to envision three very different looks for all 3 of my events. I was also worried that since a lot of her brides had gone natural that she wouldn't want to go bolder, but I'll never forget her saying "It's your wedding! We're going big!" Throughout my wedding weekend, Trang was punctual but flexible when it came to scheduling and shuffling between hair, photo/video, and other vendors who needed me. While she did my makeup, we would get lost in deep conversations when we had energy but at one point, I was so tired, I fell asleep and she worked around that. I woke up looking wedding reception ready! I was originally supposed to have someone helping to drape my Indian outfits who didn't come, but Trang stepped right in to help without me or anyone asking her. My makeup lasted so well throughout the events and even after hours of dancing! What is most telling about Trang is that she also did my mother's makeup. Trang never spoke to my mom prior, didn't know what outfits she was wearing, but still delivered three incredible looks that made my mom look and feel so beautiful. It takes a lot to impress my mom, but even she was blown away by Trang's talent! Don't hesitate - book Trang for your big day. You won't regret it!! read more

On your wedding day, you need to look like the best version of yourself and Trang is the perfect makeup and hair artist who can deliver! I found Trang via Instagram @trangformation when I was browsing different wedding makeup looks and came across one of her brides which I had previously saved. Her makeup style is natural but enhances the beauty of the bride at the same time. I had reviewed other wedding makeup artists but wasn't interested with how some of them either put too much makeup or the look didn't showcase the bride's natural beauty. Trang has the artistic eye and talent to be able to see what suits your face for makeup and hair. She is reasonably priced for her services and doesn't charge extra for airbrush services either. I mostly communicated with Trang via text messages since that was her preferred method of communication and was able to keep in touch with her at any time! Two months before our wedding, I had my makeup and hair trial done on a weekday morning since that worked best for her schedule. She made sure to provide instructions beforehand so that I could prep my hair and face and share with her any inspiration photos I had. When we finally met, she was very sweet and excited to learn more about me and to hear our love story. I shared with her my inspiration photos and mentioned about doing the airbrush look since I heard that it was "in style". Since I would need to have a hairstyle that could fit the traditional Vietnamese ao dai as well as my wedding dress, the hairstyle had to be positioned exactly at the right area on my head so that the Vietnamese hat could fit correctly and my tiara once I switched clothes. She was able to figure out exactly which area that was and we did a practice try with shaking my head up and down so that there wouldn't be any budges with my hair. I knew early on that I wanted to have two makeup and hair looks, one for the wedding ceremony and the other for the wedding reception, which I did have to pay extra for but well worth it. When she was analyzing my hair, she noticed that the second look I wanted for the reception would not match my current hair and that I would need some layers as well as extensions. We decided that I should come back to her for a hair appointment (which is also an extra side charge) but she would be able to cut my hair as well as do my second hair look which I didn't mind. I wanted to be able to see both looks and share with my family what they looked like. Wedding day finally arrived, and I was nervous because I was still running around the house getting things prepped but Trang and her team arrived on time to get everyone ready to go. Trang focused solely on me while her team did the rest of my bridesmaids as well as my mother. Her team made my bridesmaids and mother look so beautiful and they were very friendly as well! Trang made sure to remind me to eat and stay hydrated since it would be a long day and I'm glad that she was looking out for me. When we finished my makeup and hair for my first look, I was stunned by how amazing I looked and even asked her what happened with the airbrush since I didn't hear the machine. She told me that when she was reviewing our trial photos that the airbrush look was not for my skin type and that she had to apply the makeup with just her hands. Her hands must have magic because my skin looked flawless even after I was tearing up during the wedding ceremony. When the afternoon arrived and I needed to do my second look, Trang was not worried at all that I had arrived fashionably late, but we still made good time and finished as quickly as possible. At one point, I was concerned that my husband had a small pimple on his face which was turning red and she applied a quick touch up for him out of my request which I was grateful for. We also booked Trang for my mother in law and they had a great time getting to know one another in the afternoon. I'm so glad to know that Trang knew exactly what would work for my face and made a professional decision to change the makeup look. It worked out much better than I anticipated since you don't have to follow the trend like everyone else but use what works for you. A good lesson to learn and now I know that airbrush is not for me. I've never written a review before, but I decided that I needed to thank a person who made me feel so special on the best day of my life! My husband and I had to cancel our destination wedding last year and didn't make any new arrangements because we were unsure about when it would be okay to have a big group gathering. But as things started to look up this year, we decided to have a small backyard ceremony in a relative's backyard in Newport. On very short notice, I contacted Trang and I'm so happy that she was able to fit me into her schedule. I set up a hair and makeup trial and a bridal hair and makeup appointment within a 2-3 week timeline, and have never looked back! Trang really is an artist and a professional. I showed her pictures of my dress and the look I was going for, and she made sure to listen to the way I wanted to feel on my special day. I'm not the best at working with hair and makeup, so I left the rest up to her and she really delivered. After the trial, my worries about not looking good on my wedding day went away! On the actual wedding day, the final look was even better than I remembered. I took Trang's advice and feedback for all of the little details I was unsure about. And my advice to you, is to trust a professional. She captured the exact look that I envisioned for my wedding day and I could not be more thankful! On a side note, during the whole experience, she made sure to calm my nerves and even made sure I ate so that I would be fresh for the wedding! I've only met Trang twice, but I already feel like she's a friend because she was there on such a special day in my life. Trang did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I started hair and make up at 6:30am and at the after party at 3am people were saying how great my hair and makeup still looked! Throughout the whole process Trang was so helpful in answering all my questions and was really flexible in some last minute changes as well. She referred me to where to buy the right extensions and offered to help wash/prep them before, which was great because I've never had extensions and wouldn't know what to do with them.
