Love this place , every time I go it just gets better . We had our first hiccup at Trancas ( someone in our party's steak was over cooked) the waitress was on top of it, got another steak out in under 10 minutes. The service is ALWAYS amazing , thank you again Trancas for always being consistent.

Local spot, casual, random photos off patrons the wall. They get busy. Been here several times off and on since 2021-2025 The french dip & fries never disappoint. Free popcorn machine. Salads are great. The burger is good but usually comes out more well done than i like. Of course, killer local wine list & Cocktails. Good if you have a big group of people or appeal if you wanna lounge hang around. Hit or miss if the staff disappears for long periods or focuses on more deep pocket and/or those bigger tables. French dip or burger is a great value versus the $31-72 steaks. My only gripe is the small portion sizes and long waits for staff. The french dip is fantastic with aujus but over quickly. And not many fries.

We found this local steakhouse/sports bar during our getaway to Napa. My husband loves prime rib and we were so happy that we gave Trancas a chance. The staff was very friendly and reassured us that the prime rib described as world's best was indeed very good. I ordered the 6 oz cut and my husband got the 12 oz cut. It was perfectly cooked to our order of medium rare. The veggies were tender but still had a crunch and had great flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy. Oh! And the bread was brought to us piping hot, crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. We felt really comfortable in the restaurant. It felt like being in a comfortable diner or a friend's place, not at all pretentious.

A true Hidden in Napa. One of my favorite places to go when I'm in the area. Their food is excellent. Their service is exceptional. My favorite is their short rib, which literally falls apart with a touch of your fork. It is amazing. I have brought many friends here to try this place and they also agree how great it is. I took my boyfriend for the first time for his birthday and he loved it. We will be back as usual.

    Prime Rib (12oz. cut)

My husband and I was there last night. It was busy and glad we made reservation. I think they have some tables available for walk-ins. Nice decor and the booth was comfortable and clean. Service and the food were good. I ordered the prime rib, it tasted good but not the world's best prime rib. I have had better somewhere else. Forgot to take picture of the Fruit Crisp dessert but I highly recommend because it was freshly made to order I think.

This was a hidden gem. We are from Southern California and wanted a steak to go with some local wine. This place did not disappoint. We had the calamari appetizer and a ribeye for the main dish. The veggies were cooked to perfection and the masked potatoes were perfect. The steak was top quality with great prices. Definitely coming back.

Excellent old-school steakhouse. The service was exceptional. Not only was the server, informative and knowledgeable, he was pretty funny and entertaining in a non-intrusive way. In addition to the main server, others came as needed without fanfare. The ambience is pretty low-key pretty cool, definitely rural local California, chill and very comfortable

Rigatoni with Italian sausage, red peppers, onion, and zucchini in a marinara sauces was perfectly sublime!

Covered, outdoor patio and nice bar compliments the dining room. Service was great and top notch. Unique corkage fee. Buy a bottle, open your bottle for free. Not bad! French onion soup was excellent along with their chopped salad. Several specials available to include surf and turf (delicious) along with a prix fixe choice. I chose this with my choice being the french onion soup (great on this rainy night), filet mignon, and a dessert. The filet was cooked perfectly and I chose a sauce, not because it needed it, but just to sample one of their sauces. The cracked peppercorn was excellent. Their chocolate cake was just ok. The ambience was genuine French countryside (with a mix of a sports bar inside that didn't really match??), but given everything else was off the charts we didn't mind. The service was 5-star level with their manners, panache, and the knowledge and experience you would only expect at a Michelin-grade chophouse. The food. Spectacular. No words. Presentation was surprisingly impressive even with their side dishes. Their New Zealand Lamb Chops were criminal. Lamb will never be the same after having theirs. It. Was. Perfect. I did not care for any of their side sauces, which were on point, but I just prefer a simpler wine sauce. The wife ordered the Filet Mignon, which was prepared perfectly and was that melt in your mouth tenderness you hope for. Their included sides were asparagus, glazed carrots, AND mashed potatoes which were all fantastic. Appetizer was a jumbo white prawn cocktail which was good (wife birthday choice ;), even though I was eying their Wood Oven Oyster Rockefeller with spinach, bacon, and bearnaise sauce. Next time...sigh. The dessert was so good it was like torture after being so full. Thought I just had the best cheesecake ever that weekend at the Fairmont which was a Pistachio cheesecake with Boscotti crumbles. This blew it away. DARK CHCOLATE OREO CRUSTED WITH A DARK CHEERY COMPOTE. O.M.G. Wife had a banana crème brûlée which was equally amazing. Oh and they forced us to have as many dessert drinks as we liked (her bday came in handy) on a drink cart. (A full bar lol from scotches, sherries, brandies, ports, any style of chocolate liqueur). This will be our new home kitchen away from home. 20/10 rating.

The dish had good flavor with the highlight being how fresh the shrimp tasted. Next level freshness that would resonate through the meal. The one thing I would adjust with this dish is the level of crispiness. I normally order fries extra crispy and I should have done the same with this. Next was the french onion soup and the Caesar salad. The soup was classic style with the onions being on the sweeter side. Good rendition. The salad was something that my friends had raved about and it was quite good. Nothing wrong with it but I have had better. The presentation was cool too. For my entree I had the ribeye steak. It comes with potatoes and vegetables. The steak was good but I would have preferred a higher char level. I ordered medium rare and it was closer to medium. Cooked at a higher temp for a shorter time would have been better, still the steak had good flavor. The potatoes and veggies were uninspired but there was nothing wrong with them. I order fries on the side which like the calamari could have been crispier. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. My wife had one of the specials for her entree, the ahi poke salad. This dish was delicious. Again the freshness of the seafood stood out. A terrific balance of flavors with some wasabi heat. 10 for 10. It was my birthday so the restaurant gave me a free chocolate mousse dessert which was delightful. All in all a good meal. We will likely return but next time focus on the seafood as I believe this is where Cordeiro's excels.

It has open floorplan surrounded by TV's mounted all around the high ceilings. In the center there is a very nice island bar and low lighting above tables and booths surrounding it. Once seated our waiter came fairly quickly and asked if he could get us started on anything. Being that we came on a weekend evening, we were pleasantly surprised at the quick service. We decided to start with the Pickle fries. For our entrée, my husband ordered the Wagyu burger and avocado & onion rings to his burger. I opted for the Napasort burger with fries. After ordering, I decided to use the restroom and found that it was in a very awkward place. You have to walk down a very long hallway, with minimal lighting, passing a glass room with patrons. I definitely did not feel comfortable and decided to not use the restroom again the rest of the visit. Once the food arrived, everything looked great. The pickle fries were okay, but I think would of been better, maybe cut as slices? My burger was very good and I could barely finish that and the fries. My husband like his burger and said he can't wait to come back and try other dishes. He also loved his beer, Lost Coast IPA. We were also undecided on where to stay hotel wise and when we saw it was at the Meritage, which is great for families, it made sense to book both the hotel and the restaurant. Our daughter just turned four months old, so this was our first date night as new parents and it did not disappoint. For us the convenience of an amazing restaurant on site at a family forward resort was great for peace of mind. We didn't have to go far to have an amazing experience. When we entered Ember the vibes were set. The restaurant is truly stunning and everywhere you look feels like you are observing art. The craft cocktail bar as the center focal point and the tables set up the way they were made for great people watching. It seemed like almost every table was a couple on a date and the energy was definitely upscale and romantic. My husband and I love great food and couldn't help but order almost everything that looked appealing to us. The wagyu nigiri with caviar was mind blowing, so fresh. The oysters were unreal. The tomahawk steak with creamed spinach, and truffle fries did not disappoint. Literally the best steak and sides we've enjoyed in a while. The mushrooms were delicious too. My husband enjoyed his craft cocktail, an Old Fashion and I enjoyed champagne with the starters and a wonderful glass of Grgich cab with the steak. We gave our compliments to the chef who made her appearance tableside, and we enjoyed a wonderful conversation with her. She recommended the baked Alaska, which was made after her grandmother's recipe, and my husband still talks about that dessert to this day. We enjoyed great ambience, impeccable food, and tremendous service. I can't wait to go back to Ember, which says so much because the dining scene is unreal in Napa and there is always something new to try. We will be back!

I made rezzies several weeks ahead and choose their patio (staycation with dogs)...but when we arrived, we were told the patio was closed. Overall, maybe it was just a very off night but I'm genuinely mystified by the 4.5 star rating. Ember felt like the typical overpriced hotel resto trying too hard to be trendy and extra with their food. Unfortunately, there were simply too many missteps to overlook - esp given the poor quality of some of the ingredients. We purchased a bottle directly from the market associated with the restaurant and were told by the employee there that the corkage fee would be waived if we bought their wine. When we sat down, our server Sara told us that was not true and that we would still have to pay the fee. I explained what we had been told, and when she asked if I wanted a manager involved, I said yes. Before the manager even arrived or clarified the situation, the server opened our bottle of wine. In the silence and confusion, I reasonably assumed the fee issue had been resolved. Then the manager came over and told us we would still be charged and implied that nobody at the market would have told us otherwise. The way it was handled made my husband and I feel like we were being accused of making the whole thing up, which was especially upsetting on Mother's Day. At that point, the bottle was already opened, so we were essentially stuck paying the fee regardless. Between being seated incorrectly, the poor communication between employees, and how dismissive the situation felt, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a special meal. The rest of the service we felt ignored and there was minimal effort to accommodate. Great food alone is not enough to justify returning when the hospitality experience feels this frustrating and unprofessional.

I had a great dinner here! We went in January. Good service…read more This is located in the Archer Hotel. There's nearby parking garages. We enjoyed everything we got, though the Caesar salad was lacking flavor but we could have just asked for more dressing. I liked the Parker house rolls, I LOVED the tartare, crudo, truffle fries, beet salad. The desserts were good and not too sweet. Elevated menu. The crudo was nuanced, tasted like it had Asian flavor influence. The food isn't basic at all. I would recommend this place and I'll definitely come back again!!

Juan was our server, and even at the tail end of his shift he was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. We grabbed a high-top by the bar, celebrating a spontaneous after-work birthday, and the setting could not have been better. The restaurant is stunning--soft lighting, elegant details, and that effortless date-night atmosphere that makes you want to linger. We went straight for the ribeye, cooked flawlessly to order, with honey-glazed carrots and truffle fries that were downright addictive. The cocktail, bright and lemon-kissed like a perfectly balanced lemon drop, tied the whole meal together. Charlie Palmer's remains one of my top steakhouse favorites--and nights like this are exactly why.
