I have been going to her for over 10years and have always had such a lovely experience. She has always answered my questions and concerns, even if I come back saying my prescription doesn't feel right. And I have only had to do that once when I was pregnant. Growing a human is not for the weak! Dr. Tran is direct and efficient. I appreciate how she has always validated concerns I may be having and does her best to educate me on those issues. I've seen some comments stating that she is more concerned about receiving payment than patient care... I'm also concerned about her receiving payment. How else is she supposed to stay in business? Insurance companies do their best to not pay and I don't doubt she hasn't been burned before. Good on her! The negative reviews for Doctor Tran are nothing less than shocking. Rude, rushed, pushy. She recommended me for cataract surgery to what has become into Key-Whitman Eye Center in Grapevine. They were OK to work with, but now that I have had the surgery and need a regular glasses prescription, she is no where to be found. When calling her Costco phone, it goes directly back to the main Costco loop. Can't reach or locate her. Appears she is MIA and no longer seeing patients. I was genuinely excited to learn that Costco offered eye exams, but that excitement quickly faded after my experience with Ms. Tran in the optometry department. I will never use Costco for eye care again. My first encounter with Ms. Tran was around December or January when I came in for a routine eye exam. She was rushed, dismissive, and completely lacking in basic customer service. I brushed it off at the time, thinking maybe she was just having a rough day. But after returning recently, it's clear that her rude and unprofessional behavior is a consistent pattern--not a one-time slip. Last week, I stopped in before shopping to request a copy of my prescription since my glasses had broken. The receptionist was kind and began looking it up--until Ms. Tran yelled from inside her office, "We tell you to take a picture of it!" I calmly explained that I didn't have a copy and needed it. Instead of assisting, Ms. Tran told the receptionist, "You don't have time to look for it--you can just email it to her later." As the receptionist was taking down my email, another woman walked in and greeted Ms. Tran. Her response? "Sit down and wait until she's done." No courtesy, no professionalism--just another example of her daily attitude. I've never encountered a medical professional who carries themselves with such a blatant lack of respect--not just toward patients but even toward her own staff. Based on other reviews I've seen since, I know I'm not alone. Costco, do better you've lost a customer because of this experience. I strongly urge upper management to address Ms. Tran's behavior. LOOK AT THE REVIEWS ON GOOGLE FOR COSTCO OPTICAL AND FOR TRAN OPTOMETRIST. I have reported her to the Texas Board of Optometry, Texas Attorney General, BBB, and Costco since there is pattern of fraudulant billing. My experience with Dr. Tran's office was concerning. I was there for a basic contact lens fitting but was repeatedly and aggressively asked for my medical insurance. Despite my declining and explaining that it wasn't necessary since they had my VISION insurance already, the staff insisted on "just having it on file." I regret giving in. My medical insurance was subsequently billed for imaging services I did not consent to, and the claim was denied. My insurance company is now in a dispute with the office over this fraudulent billing. This has never happened to me in over a decade of visiting optometrists and feels like a scam. read more

While I know they are not Costco employees, Costco needs to be more careful regarding who they allow to service their customers. I initially saw a Dr Rivera who gave me a prescription that was way off, giving me glasses that were impossible for me to use. This caused me to go back to the office--but this time seeing Dr Tran. Once again, the prescription I was given left me with blurry vision that made me dizzy. I went to another optometrist and it was like day and night. I have endured a constant hostile work environment for the last 6 weeks working for Dr. Tara Tran. The way she speaks to you in a condescending way. Continually speaking down on me and on her patients. It is one of the worst experiences in 20 years that I have experienced. I also experienced sexual harassment where she placed her hand on my thigh and demand that I stop shaking my leg. On my last day where I had enough of this treatment. Dr. Rivera had a patient from Colombia and he and Dr. Tran are talking about how "These Colombians feel entitled" that patient left almost crying from the worst experience she has had at that office. I would not recommend coming here. The way she talks to her employees and her patients is terrible. I called to book an eye exam and was told I'd have a 10$ copay so I decided to book the appointment. The receptionist was nice and checked me in. When it came to checking out I was told I'd be paying out of pocket for my exam by Dr. Tran. I told her no my insurance is valid. She blamed me for giving her the wrong info but it was her computer that wasn't working with the network. The fact that she was blaming me for the issue just felt terrible. I ended up having to pay 50$ out of pocket because my insurance didn't cover the pictures they take of your eyes. Had I been informed before hand instead of being told 10$ I would have went elsewhere. Experience here was terrible. Also, as I was waiting there was an elderly woman getting an exam done and she was yelling at her for reading the wrong line. Stay away from here. If I could zero stars I would. read more

My wife and I use Costco for eyeglasses, and eye testing because we trusted the Costco brand, and are full time rv travelers. We have used 4 different Costco locations over the years with great results. We arrived a few minutes early for our appointments with Dr, Tran at Costco Fort Worth Texas, and she was already in a hurry to process us. The entire testing and consultation was done in 15 minutes , She was barking orders to her receptionist in a manor that should never be used to talk to another person. Dr. Tran rushed me through the testing process . I was never given enough time to pick the clearest line on the test machine. After testing, I was told that I had dry macular degeneration. Dr, Tran showed me the photos of my eye with the macular degeneration. She was most intent on getting my Medicare number from me even though i am a cash paying customer. At the end of the test, Dr Tran tried to up charge me an additional 80 dollars from the posted price, because she was using a machine that eliminates the need for eye dilation. After my wife and I left, we both decided to see another optometrist for a second opinion. Our new doctor found no macular degeneration, and that both are prescriptions were wrong, and would have resulted in eyeglasses that were not suitable for us. Looking through the reviews, I see that I am not the only person that this doctor has incorrectly diagnosed macular degeneration, rushed patients through testing, and given incorrect prescriptions. I am shocked that she has been a Costco optometrist for more than ten years. Costco, you need to do better! read more

I've been going here for more than 5 years. One time I went to another provider and boy did I regret it. The prescription was wrong and I made an appointment here for Dr. Tara to fix it. Dr Tran was impatient and could not determine my eye prescription. She then dilated my eyes and I had no one to drive me home. Furthermore she said I had macular degeneration which an ophthalmologist said I did not have. The prescription she gave me was incorrect and I had another optometrist examination. First time my 3 year old wouldn't keep his mask on and she made my husband take him outside, I decided to try her again because he will now keep his mask on.. we had another Very bad experience! Horrible bedside manners, very impatient, very rude! Doesn't explain anything rushes you in and out. Don't let it be your first time trying contacts because she will rush you and make you feel stupid and small because you can't put them in in a timely manner. Also my daughter is special education and she made her cry. She said my daughters eyes were corrected and she didn't need glasses anymore when she can't see across the street. She didn't wait for my daughter to fully answer her questions and it made my daughter calm up. I sent my husband back in and tell them to re test her and she refused . If you go to her , you are setting yourself to be upset not worth it! She does not take the time to get it right. She kept asking me to read letters right after putting the light in my eye and then seemed frustrated while I was waiting for my eyes to adjust. My prescription is still not correct after going back to see her. Such a waste of time and money. She's impatient and rushes through. This Dr. Tran runs her business like a fast food drive through. So quickly tested and not thorough mostly because her VERY SMALL WAITING area demands to to be lighting fast! This is the first time in my 35 years of wearing glasses that a prescription was off! When I called to tell her she blamed everything and everyone, including the progressive lens that she said I have to have with their Costco type of order placing!!!!! I've been seeing Dr Tran for a decade. She's efficient, helpful, and has been very easy to work with. I can vouch for her professionalism. I don't recommend her for people who need a lot of time being explained to. I do recommend her for those who understand that being quick is to the benefit of the patient. Dr's need you to respond with your first reaction to which is better, 1 or 2, the longer you think about it the more you strain your eyes. As someone who's been over corrected before I completely appreciate how she works. Dr. Tran is VERY professional!! My husband and I have been going there for years! A couple of years ago my husband (is a truck driver) and began having issues with his eyes. I made an appt with an eye specialist on Hulen. The woman who saw him said it was due to "old age" and did nothing for him. Two weeks later the problem was worse, so he went back to Dr Tran thinking he just needed prescription sunglasses. As soon as she checked him, I got a call at work to find out which doctor had seen him for the other check up. Turned out he had a detached retina and needed surgery asap. The woman who saw him at the other place was not even a specialist!! She was only a "glasses" doctor!! Ms Tran called them so they could schedule him for surgery right away. Figured since associated somewhat I guess with Costco that it would be a good place. I wish I would have read the reviews before I went there. Like someone said if you have no issues and your prescription doesn't change much and you're ready to be in and out in less than 10 min then this is the place for you. She is very gruff, comes off very cold and rude. Maybe she's stressed seeing so many people in such a short amount of time, I don't know. I went to her and had to go back 3 times, such a waste of my time and money. She basically told me that was as good as it was going to be and maybe u should just wear glasses. I ended up calling my previous eye doctor and went there. I was trying to avoid driving 40 min since I moved, but I was not happy with Dr Tran. Dr. Tran was efficient, professional and friendly. She fitted me for contact lenses. I liked my current prescription; but, she was able to improve my vision even over those, and correct a weakness that they didn't correct. She listens well. I told her that it was important to me to avoid having to wear reading glasses, even if I had to sacrifice a little sharpness of far vision. Horrible experience. She checked my son's temperature multiple times before taking him back (his temp was below 98). During his exam, she yelled at him for pulling his mask down for a second because it was fogging up the lenses and preventing him from being able to see the letters. She proceeded to tell him that it is his responsibility to keep wiping the lenses and she started spraying disinfectant towards his face. If my son hadn't already waited a month for the appointment and really needed the prescription for contacts, we would have walked out. The front desk girl was also very rude and unprofessional. I understand that covid has brought challenges to the medical professionals, but a little customer service and kindness goes a long way. We will never go back! read more

On the first visit she was being pleasant but after getting my eye exam and contact lens fitting, I came back because it cause uncomfort. She started to be impatient and rude and started being aggressive and told me that I cannot keep coming back for the problem with eye contacts. Dr. Tran is one of the rudest doctors I have ever seen. I saw her last year and thought I would give her another chance since she seemed very busy that day. Yesterday was no different. She did half of my exam and then "realized" I had a cloth mask on (like the other people in the waiting area) and cornered herself in the other side of the room and began yelling at me to get out and not come back unless I had a "paper mask". Her sign says "must wear a face covering" but nothing about the exact type of mask she is wanting her patients to wear. She then began asking me personal medical questions not pertaining to the eye exam itself and I left. She told the people in the waiting area that they needed to go to Costco and get a different mask. If a business wants their customers to wear a certain type of mask they need to provide it or refuse service upon entry. I will be going to Pearl Vision on S Hulen where I used to go.
