I never had any hiccups in the past but this year when I scheduled my sons appt for his yearly exam they couldn't see me for 4 months. We waited the 4 months and when the day finally comes I do an e check in and I'm told my payment is 80$ which is more than it usually is but it's usually 50$ and that's only a little more and my son is in desperate need of new glasses. So we show up for our appt and the receptionist tells me I owe 242$ from last year and they won't see my son unless I pay it. When I ask what that amount was for I was told it's for a specialty exam...my son has been coming here for 6 years we have never had to pay 242$. I was blindsided and wish when I had made the appt 4 months prior they told me of this crazy amount that was owed. Finally after waiting 30 min, crying, offering 100$ for this visit they told me they would take the 100$ and put me on a payment plan. I felt like it was really unprofessional that they didn't tell me when I scheduled this appt they just expected me to show up and have 242$ like it was nothing. Unfortunately I won't be coming back. I enjoy Dr Hunt my son is comfortable with him and he's been seeing my son since he was a newborn. It's a sad day. read more

The ONLY reason I'm giving a 4/5 stars to this medical group is because of Dr. Prashanthi Giridhar and her tech, Ann. If I was rating the office staff experience, it would be a 1 or less. You can read other reviews to confirm my thoughts on this. I found Dr. Giridhar and scheduled an appointment. We went into the clinic and I noticed they had a movie playing that was for at least 8+ years or older. It was violent, aggressive and my daughter, who is 4 and has some sensory issues, started crying and holding her ears. They have two TV monitors and no one was watching either, so I kindly asked if they could turn one off so we could sit in another section and not have to be blasted by some loud, aggressive Disney movie. The woman greeting people just said, "No. We won't be turning any TV off." So, that was a bit confusing and upsetting, especially since I'm the customer. Anyway, she was rude and wouldn't address me after that. So, we sat in a corner while my daughter cried and held her ears all because we had to have TV's blaring at us with age inappropriate shows. Quick note, just because it says Pixar or Disney does NOT mean it's age appropriate for ALL children. We were quickly taken back, so it was a very short wait and I just loved Ann. She was so very kind to my daughter, patient and accommodating. After dilating my daughter's eyes, we moved into a dark room where guess what - they had yet ANOTHER blaring TV. Another mother in there had an 8 year old and said, why are they playing this? It's really inappropriate. My daughter once again held her ears and cried because of the scary parts of the movie. Thankfully, Ann noticed and moved us to a quiet room. It made all the difference in the world. Finally, Dr. Giridhar came into the room. She was so gentle with my daughter and put her at ease immediately. She was thorough, professional, kind and gave me instructions for home. My daughter loved her, too. I mentioned the movie/blaring TV situation and she asked me to find out what movie was playing from her staff and to let her know. As we were checking out, I asked the woman checking us out about the movie and asked who makes the choices on what is played. She then stopped acknowledging me. It was the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced. She just looked down and stopped talking. I said, I think the movie choice might not fit with all children and she just kept looking down and said, "No further appointment. Thank you." That was it. She literally ignored me completely. I felt like I was in some weird movie. She just stopped talking and interacting. It was very odd. So, will we be back? Yes, because I know what to expect and because of Ann and Dr. Giridhar. Thankfully, interacting with their office staff is short lived, otherwise we wouldn't return. I think the providers at this office need to reevaluate some of their current office staff, especially with all of the complaints they are receiving on several different digital media channels. Oh, I forgot to mention that while my daughter and I were waiting in one of the rooms, I could hear someone in the next room screaming at her landlord (or someone?) talking about plumbing issues and saying, "How am I supposed to wipe my ass if I have no working plumbing." That was an added bonus to the visit! :-| read more

Dr. Hunt and the entire staff are amazing! My daughter had to have surgery (which was successful) but every step from consultations to surgery itself went seamlessly! Me and my family have never experienced such terrible customer service from a "professional specialist" office. We were re-directed to a parking lot and followed instructions given, once we arrived we tried to enter the facility as directed, and the receptionist said "y'all can't read ? Look at the sign. It's in Spanish for you to understand". Mind you my family and I are bilingual but the attitude and customer service that was given before we could even enter the facility was so disappointing that we decided to leave. Definitely not recommending anyone to this office please save your time and money going elsewhere. read more

We love Dr Hunt. This office great with all children of all ages. Our special needs son is treated with respect and given extra time to adjust. They listen to parental concerns and take the time to explain treatments and options. read more

LOVED Dr. Hunt. LOVED him. His staff, not so much. Tried to schedule a surgery for my son and a year later, it still hasn't happened. Surgical coordinator would never return my phone calls. There were times I called the office and phone wouldn't even be picked up during office hours. This is a classic case of the staff running me away, not the doctor. read more

Finance Coordinator is rude and unprofessional, check in and check out staff completely ignore you. Dr. Giridhar took care of my daughters eye issue, however, had I been given the option to research and choose I would've definitely chose another Clinic. Do not bring your children here. They dont seem to really care about any of the parents concerns or the actual well being of the child. They only seem to be here for the pay check. Do your research first and find somewhere else to take your children. read more

We have had nothing but great experiences each and every time my daughter has had an appointment. The visits do take a while, but Dr. Norman takes plenty of time visiting with my daughter, asking about school and sports, addressing our questions. The physicians are kind, caring professionals, and I've never experiences anything but courtesy from office staff. read more

We have seen Dr. Norman since our daughter was born with a cataract in one eye. She has been through 3 surgeries with Dr. Norman and we couldn't be happier with her progress and treatment. She is now 6 years old and even though we have moved east of Dallas we still drive to the Fort Worth office for checkups because the doctors and staff are fantastic. read more

If your an adult Dr Hunt is the one to see if you have any serious eye problems. Husband has been seeing him since his accident of 2005. Treats you with respect, doe not go fast with the exam, and explains everything as simple as he can. read more

Dr Giridhar, Dr Packwood and Dr Norman are amazing physicians. They were all extremely helpful, compassionate and thorough during a very scary time for us. I could not recommend an office more than I could this one. Pediatric eye specialists and their staff are amazing. read more

My son has been going to Dr. Packwood for the last 10 years and we have been nothing but happy with the doctor and staff. My son always feels comfortable and I feel that the steps that the doctors have taken with my son are not overly drastic or ambitious but instead cautious and thorough. I felt my son got adequate care for a 1st time simple eye exam to see if he needed glasses. My main concern we the way the woman introduced herself as "Dr. ....". I did not recognize her as one of the physicians on the website and later looked and saw that she was an OD. I understand ODs are completely competent when examining my child and making appropriate recommendations; however I do not agree with introducing yourself as a "Dr" in a medical setting unless you are a physician. It's a misrepresentation and allows the patient to assume you are a physician. She had a great personality, was good with my son, and again, the treatment was otherwise appropriate. read more

Possibly one of the most unprofessional medical practices I've ever come in contact with. I couldn't even get an appointment scheduled for my daughter because the nurses were either too busy playing Pokemon Go or slurping on ramen noodle while playing Pokemon Go to answer the phone or check their scheduling desk voicemail. Or maybe they checked their voicemail, but decided that the office makes enough money that they don't need to bother return call on a potentially new client. So I sent them an email, but I'm guessing they forgot to pay the internet bill because I didn't get any reply. read more

I was very disappointed in my experience. My child had a very simple issue that was not resolved with drops. When a called back 2 months later to schedule a surgery I was never called back. I called on several different occasions and left messages. I'm not sure why we weren't special enough to receive a call back. Finally a month later my phone call was returned. This was only because I told the referring doctor I hadn't had my phone call returned after 3 weeks. I have since found another pediatric eye specialist who conducts business promptly. There was nothing wrong with the doctor when I went but the office staff needs some work though. read more

I took my three year old here for her first optometry appointment and it was great. They used little toys during the examination to keep her attention and with as busy as they were they got to us as quickly as they could. They have tvs in every room too so it's not too boring while you wait. The nurses and specialists and the doctor were all professional and kept me well informed about what was going on with my kids eyes. Upstairs they also have a store to buy glasses and it carries flexible glasses with straps to keep them on toddlers. read more

I'm writing this review because I have been with this practice for 3 years now. The service is great but the timeframe it takes to get into this office is horrible! Once you receive an appointment, you always have to wait almost 1 hour to see the doctor. And this time, I requested to have my son's contact prescription changed and they told me that I had to bring him in. That took 3 days to get an appointment. I was then told that they didn't have the contacts I requested and so they had to order them. This has taken a total of 2 weeks to come in. This doesn't take that long at Wal-Mart. All of this for a 15 minute appointment. Now to get the contacts fitted, I have to wait another 5 days to get in to see the doctor. All the while, telling the people each time I call that my son can't see and the urgency. The time it is taking to get seen, I could have gone somewhere else, and will next time. This kind of service and inconsiderate treatment of children is unacceptable. I will be finding a new pediatric eye specialist. read more
