I woke up on a Saturday with a little black spot in my lower left eye. By noon, half my vision was completely obscured by a white cloud. It was a detached retina. I went to local ER (live 45 miles from Ft. Worth), and the dr. there got hold of Dr. Hajovsky who agreed to meet me at his office even though they were closed. Without any nurses, he spent 2 hours with procedures to stop further damage and help start to mend. Wednesday was the surgery, and a follow up the next day. Veterans Beware!! This Doctor's office does not and will not accept VA referrals for their services - PERIOD!!! I am a disabled veteran and I have just recently retired and have moved off my Corporate America insurance policy. So, I now rely on the VA for my medical services. I have tried for over a year to get this Dr.'s group's back office (and so have both of my great Doctors there) to accept VA payments so I can maintain my medical relationship with my 2 doctors. Sadly, during this entire time - the person in charge of the dept. that oversees these types of asks has said they will not accept payment from the VA - EVER! So, they clearly - have "ZERO" respect for Veterans. I am amazed at the run-around I have gotten, no call backs, and complete disrespect I have received from this back office team! Today I tried to reschedule an appointment at the Weatherford office and the service I received was poor and made me feel they couldn't care less whether I used them as my eye care facility.I ended up canceling my appointment and calling back hoping to reach someone who was in a better spirit. I had a cornea cross linking procedure by DR. Lyer in. The procedure was performed by her assistant and it went well to my knowledge. A follow up appointment was set to remove the bandage off and from what I was told it was fine at that point. Then a post op appointment was set for October 2024. Upon arrival I was advised the billing department didn't charge me the correct amount the day of the procedure and I needed to pay about $400.00 more. I asked how that could have happened. I was then sent to speak to the initial lady who gave me the amount I needed to pay and instructions. She told me they didn't have the correct prices for Cigna so that's how she accidently gave me the wrong amount then she apologized. I went back to the front desk and I explained I had accidentally left my whole purse at home and I didn't have my card on me so I wanted to see if I was still being seen today. She told me Yes, I would be seen and in her exact words, "it will need to be paid before the right eye can be done." I said that's fine I could call back later and pay it or bring it when I came back, she said, "Just bring it when you get back." I then waited in the waiting area to be called. About 15 minutes later or so another young lady came and said, "Dr.Lyer said you need to pay the balance before you can be seen today." I replied, reminding her that I was told I could pay it later but before the next procedure (she was standing there directly a part of the conversation as it was happening when I was told this). She then said," the Dr is refusing to see you until you pay. "I said well this is a post op appointment and I told her I had a pain in the corner of my eye that the procedure was done on. She apologized and told me what Dr.Lyer said again. I then asked to make a complaint. I was guided to one of the ladies on the left side in the first office and she took my complaint and stated she would send it for me and someone would be calling. I did receive a phone call apologizing to me about the situation and explained how it should not have happened that way and she was not told by anyone that there was a problem and she was extremely sorry. I refused to see Dr.Lyer again because if she was that type of person I definitely didn't want her in my other eye because she could possibly do something and make it seem like it "just so happened to happen' and I didn't want to take that chance. She told me they didn't have another Dr in the office that could do that procedure but when I go to another Dr. they will gladly send any paperwork needed to them. You can take from it what you want but this is what happened to me and the fact that I was refused a check up for something that was not my fault and I told them I was in pain was very frustrating. I gave exactly what was asked of me and did everything they asked me to do. They hadn't sent out a bill for it nor had they called me to tell me prior to my appointment. I received a bill about a week or so later for the "under-billed" amount. This does not even include that in my first visit they dilated my eyes didn't tell me and I was alone and I walked out outside and was blinded darn near. I had to sit in the parking lot till I could see good enough to at least take service roads home. read more

I have spent far more time in their waiting room than is reasonable for a doctors office. Even waiting in the room I can hear the staff laughing and joking in the hallway, it's clear that patient time is not their priority. If you have the whole day to wait for an eye appointment go ahead and schedule here, but if you want to be seen within an hour of your appointment please go somewhere else. read more

This office does not consider their patients time important. I had an appointment at 3:00pm. I arrived at 2:50pm. My patient forms were already completed online. At 3:45 I still had not been called back to a room. At 3:30 I asked the front desk how much longer it would be she said she didn't know. I said my appointment was at 3:00. She said she understood but didn't know how much longer I would be waiting to see the doctor. I decided to wait 15 more minutes then reschedule for the next earliest appointment they had available. They had an opening for 8am so I booked it for next week. In the meantime I'll be searching for a different doctor. Please DO NOT schedule an appointment here if your time is valuable. You will need to clear your entire day just to see the doctor. read more

My PCP's office says this place is very popular with my doctor's patients. Maybe so, but not with me. 1 The support staff, unless you're away from the doctor, is not particularly friendly and the person who performed the majority of the testing on my eyes, didn't want to hear that I was there with double vision. It seems that that complaint usually requires additionally testing, although it didn't the day I was there. The doctor was hesitant to answer any questions for fear of getting off schedule, but he did want to talk about lasik and contact lenses. He finally told me that I will need surgery for some growths on both eyes. read more

The Doctor's are all FIVE Star. However. the Insurance Verification staff, namely, Kelly, is greatly lacking in Customer Service skills and Insurance Benefits Verification. On August 30th, I had an appointment with Dr Hajovsky for my AMD. I learned I would require injections. As I checked out, I was asked to sign up for an "assistance program." I have Tricare Prime, but filled out the forms. I later learned I was approved with a $10 copay. I had also received a message from Kelly, saying my coverage was changing effective 8/31. (I have had Tricare Prime since 2000. Nothing has changed.) I was seen on 9/2 for my first injection. When I checked out, I should have been charged $33, but the front desk support was confused by the program assistance that required a $10 copay so charged me $43 instead. I then called Tricare, I verified benefits for the Eylea Injections which ARE a covered service and my only responsibility is the $33 office visit copay. I then calledI Opthamology Associates and spoke to Kelly who was defensive, abrupt and outright rude, when I addressed the copay discrepancy. I highly urge Opthamology Associates to find Kelly a position NOT working with the patient as her people skills are greatly lacking in my honest opinion. read more

Sudden vision issues were a very scary experience for me. Former ophthalmologist kept saying "let's wait and see", as my vision continued to deteriorate. I decided it was time for a second opinion,, so I made an appointment with Dr. Tina Chen at Ophthalmology Associates (Summit Avenue location). What a difference....she was very professional and extremely compassionate. Dr. Chen performed cataract removal on both eyes (3 weeks apart). My vision is no longer cloudy and distorted, I can see to drive without glasses for the first time in more than 40 years. Dr. Chen explained everything that was going on with my eyes and what to expect from the surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Chen. read more

Their physicians are excellent,but their support personnel is not satisfactory. They over book.Wait time on an appointment is often over an hour in the waiting room, then you wait in a treatment room. A 30-45 minute appointment often is 2+ hours. A call is a good 7-10 minutes on hold and then they can't help you and you wait for another hour for the right person to call you back, if you are lucky! My 76 yr old husband was sent home with instructions for drops in his eyes after surgery. No drops, no prescription." It was explained to him in October when his surgery was booked. It's all in that folder" no reminders... this is December! 3 phone calls from the billing office to make sure they are paid.2 calls from the surgery center and an on line form to fill out. No mention of drops. They use a mail order pharmacy to save money, and you are supposed to call them IT'S The PAIENTS' fault. And the dog ate my homework. read more

Just moved to Texas and had an emergency eye issue so we researched ophthalmologists. Got lucky when we chose Ophthalmology associates. Dr Myers went above and beyond!!! Lauren was sweet and helpful too. Definitely would recommend this office to o anyone. read more

Having had eye surgery in my right eye two years ago, I was deeply concerned on a Friday afternoon when I was seeing a pattern of geometric shapes on the visual field of my left eye. My husband called my doctor at 1:45 and was told that my doctor was gone for the day but assured him that I would be able to see a doctor at 2:45. Since I was being worked in, they said I might have a long wait. When we arrived, we were sent to Dr. Hendricks on the second floor. We were immediately called into the office where we were greeted by a very friendly professional staff. My husband and I were both extremely impressed by the friendliness, professionalism and intelligence of Dr. Hendrix. In a very short time he had diagnosed my condition, assured me that all was well, and we were left facing a delightful weekend instead of one filled with concern. Thank you, Dr. Hendricks! read more

The doctors are very good at what they do. The staff are usually courteous - there are always the occasional exceptions at all businesses - and help patients get situated. As one might imagine, a majority of their patients are seniors. I've seen many elderly patients who require the use of a wheel chair or walker. I'd like to encourage OA to consider having automatic doors installed at their Summit office. Their doors currently have push buttons that will open the doors and I suspect that makes them ADA compliant, but auto sensing doors would be a marked improvement. If Walmart can do it, how hard can it be? If the building is leased, they certainly could ask the owners and negotiate this needed upgrade. In 2020, OA is taking precautions to limit any possible COVID-19 exposures by wiping the seats in the waiting room. The might want to think about doing the same in the area they "banish" non-patients in the enclosed entrance area. Wiping done the seats and sanitizing the exam rooms may be a false sense of security, but it's nice to see the extra effort. I mention this to other medical facilities and at this point none seem interested in the practice of going above and beyond. read more

Thanks to Dr. Warren, the 22 years I spent wearing contacts and glasses is a thing of the past. He and his staff made the process so easy, and I love that they are affordable and don't have any hidden fees. My procedure cost over $1,000 less than some of my friends who had it done elsewhere. I just went yesterday for my one month check-up and was hoping for 20/20 or possibly 20/15 vision. Instead I was released with 20/12.5 vision. To say I'm thrilled would be an understatement. I enjoy traveling, especially to the beach, and I cannot wait to take my next trip free of the hassle of hauling around my contact supplies and seeing the world through lenses. Went for an appointment in the Weatherford office and was not called back for 40 min, had a technician/nurse determine my prescription, put in a room and waited for the doctor to see me. It took 2 hours from start to finish to receive my prescription and check out without any explanation for the delay. To make matters worse when I got home and looked at the paperwork given to me I not only received my receipt for my co-pay, my prescription but also another patient's prescription with all their personal information information - is that not a HIPPA violation?............... poor customer service in not letting me know there would be a delay or reason for delay and offering me the option to reschedule. They were clear & upfront on all details and got me scheduled as soon as we found out I was a good candidate. On surgery day I showed up at 12:30 & was walking out with the surgery done before 1. I couldn't believe how fast, painless, & easy it would be and wish I would have done it years ago. I now have better than 20/15 vision and love everything about my new eyes. Because of my great experience with Dr. Warren several years ago, I felt confident in returning with a new issue. I saw Dr. Han for what I thought was an ocular migraine that turned out to be Shingles on the left side of my head. I was prescribed an antiviral and something to help calm the nerve pain and told the next few days would be difficult. Difficult does not describe the pain! I was not precribed anything for the excrutiating pain and when the office was contacted, I was informed he didn't order pain medication. Had I known how really painful the next few days would be without analgesics, I would have chosen another practice where compassion is considered a part of the treatment. A few nights later, I called the emergency number only to wait 45 minutes and then have to repeat the call. When I explained the severe burning and itching of the eye, I was given a lecture on Shingles but no suggestions as to how to alleviate it. I have nothing but the highest regards for the office staff. I only wish the medical staff was as responsive. read more

I was scheduled to have cataract surgery with a doctor at Opthamology Associates next week. When I entered the office for my pre-op dr visit, I was wearing my "mask" over my mouth, not my nose. I was also wearing a heart monitor because I'm having breathing problems. I have asthma. The receptionist kept telling me to put the mask over my nose, not just my mouth. I explained I have asthma and cannot breath that way. I put it on my nose anyway to stop the altercation and sat down in the waiting area. Then, because I took it off my nose to breath ( I was at least 10 feet from anyone else) I was told to go to the large outside waiting room. I did and was confronted again by the Office Manager to cover my nose. Now I'm at least 10 feet from anyone and the room only had two other people in it. When I refused to cover my nose once again, I was asked to go outside to wait. I waited outside for a few minutes and finally left because I was so upset. Even the Office Manager agreed it was petty and ridiculous but would not leave me alone or let up. My Internist would not give me a surgery referral so I was there to see their dr. who would supposedly do so. He never arrived while I was there. I loved my opthamologist but their staff is rude and without compassion. I'll never go back there. My surgery was cancelled I'll find another doctor. Please, SHOW ME THE LAW THAT SAYS I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK OVER MY NOSE OR AT ALL FOR THAT MATTER. Peggy Dillard read more

Practice is like going to Walmart on Black Friday to return something. Crowded, the tech's all have the teenage "tude". A few adults were helpful. Did not listen to patient. di dnot listen to allergies. No resnse when problems with surgery or meds. Wanted to charge for things that should have been included. Inflexible in time scheduling. Most insensitive doctor ever. Doctor Anthony Parchue of Opthalmology Associates was in a hurry, clearly did not want to talk to me, barked orders at the nurse like a drill sergeant (I was embarrassed for her), and sent me home with a diagnosis of "can't find anything wrong but come back in a month just in case." That's in spite of the fact that I was seeing flashes of light and a large blurry area in the center of my vision. Unbelievable. Obviously I got a second opinion ASAP, and obviously there was indeed something wrong ... Dr. Jawad Qureshi at the Retina Center of Texas found the problem right away. And Dr. Qureshi seemed happy to provide a detailed explanation and prognosis. So if being treated like an eyeball without a heart or mind attached is your idea of fun, and if you don't mind being told your vision problem isn't actually a problem, then Dr. Parchue is your man. Otherwise, you might want to find a different opthalmologist, like I did. read more
