I had Lasik Eye Surgey with Dr. Nasser about 25 days prior to writing this review. I had the Contoura Vision Option (I highly recommend if you are able to qualify for it). I was able to see more clearly almost immediately. During my two week follow up my vision has improved to 20/15! I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. Dr. Vo was great before and after the surgery. The surgery was smooth and only took about 15-20 minutes once in the room. The staff was informative and supportive through the whole process. It's taken me a few years to cool down sufficiently to write this review. Part of it is embarrassment at being so duped and part is shame for not doing more to hold these people accountable. If you don't read any of the rest of this, please do yourself the honor of a second opinion before you buy in to any of their diagnoses. I went in for 'free' Lasik exam but was charged because it turned into a cataract exam (even though I never request such an exam nor was I asked if it was OK to change the purpose of the appointment). That really should have been the red flag for me to run the hell out of there. However, I remembered Dr. Tylock and thought the charge must be legitimate (even though it was not the purpose of my exam). I didn't realize he was no longer part of the practice...although I should have from the state of the office alone. They convinced me I needed cataract surgery - in both eyes - and I believed them. After the first surgery, I was left with such poor vision I didn't dare allow them to touch the other eye. At my first post-surgery appointment, the female doctor let it slip, "How did a bandaged eye become so dirty." Great question! The only way is if it was left that way by your partner the surgeon! (NOTE: It was not only bandaged but also had a huge dome securely taped over the bandaged area). I had 2 additional 'tweaks' to try to correct my vision and neither worked. I received quiet sympathy from the assistants - I could tell they knew my vision had been marred. On my final appointment, I was at my wits end. The doctor was trying to 'document' I had 20/20 vision. I saw this and stood my ground - I did NOT have 20/20 vision! We had to do the reading chart 4 times before I got it 'right' and by that point I'd memorized the thing. As the doctor stood there stunned I called her out on this, the assistant looked at me grinned and gave me a nod. I'd considered legal action but realized it would be more expensive for me in the long run. All I can do now is really underscore the importance of getting a second opinion from a reputable ophthalmologist who isn't running a cataract mill. I am grateful to have found one after this ordeal and he and I both wish I would have consulted with him (or someone else) before doing this to my vision. read more

Should have read the reviews. I have had Medicare B and a great Supplemental insurance policy since 2020. This is the first time I have ever had to pay out of pocket. I have had an appendectomy, skin cancer surgery and many doctor visits and have never ever had to pay a dime. This tells me the billing department here is overcharging for claims that both of my policies declined. I do not recommend this Eye Care service. read more

I contacted Tylock-George Eye Care in September 2021. Here is my breakdown. The Good: For the most part, the staff is amicable, and the doctors are attentive and professional. The Not So Good: You know those ads on the radio that say that LASIK surgery starts at $250 per eye? Don't believe them. If you need LASIK surgery, it will cost you nearly $2,000 per eye, even after discounts and with insurance. The "free" consultation has strings attached. A full consultation will cost you $40, plus if you qualify for laser surgery, you will be charged a $175 deposit. I consider both charges fair, but I don't appreciate being lured in by an ad that's is less than transparent. I went in for a consultation to see if I qualified for laser surgery. After a staff member explained the process, I went through all the tests and paid the $175 deposit plus the $40 charge, I was told by the doctor that I had a noticeable pterygium, which needed to be taken care of if I wanted to do the LASIK. This procedure would cost me over $1,000 extra. Don't you think you should've explained that BEFORE having me go through the entire process and charging me the deposit? I called and complained. The person I spoke with told me they would consider refunding me the deposit, which never happened. We had budgeted for the LASIK but, this extra $1,300 may be too much. So, I decided to get the pterygium surgery. The jury is still out on the final results. What Could Be Better: Some of the staff need to work on their people skills. And I recommend being more transparent on the process and costs. Sometimes it's the little things that count. Such as; the doctor asked me what type of anesthetic I wanted for the pterygium procedure. One was more potent, but the doctor warned me that I would have trouble walking to the car. Really? You can't afford a wheelchair to help your patients. So, of course, I chose the mild anesthetic because I didn't want to look like a drunken fool when leaving the office. At the moment of this review, I'm not sure if I even qualify for the LASIK surgery, and it seems like the pterygium procedure cost me $215 more than it should've. read more

It's been a couple of weeks since I decided to make the big move! I was beyond frustrated with my vision and kept hearing nothing but great things about lasik. I did my research, yelped a couple of places till my coworker recommended tylock. It was a long wait, HOWEVER I was notified on the phone that it would be and I can always appreciate a heads up :) The procedure itself was a little nerve racking but they make sure your eyes are numbed all the way. You won't feel a thing, it's all mental. The dr and his assistant talked me through the entire procedure which made me feel more comfortable and safe. It's been about 3 weeks now and I can see pretty good for the most part minus the halos at night but I've been told this is very normal so I'm not too worried. Plus they get better every day. As far as pricing, I googled the average price for lasik now a days and it's about 1600 per eye. I paid about 3500 so I was satisfied.. speaking of pricing so sorry I was annoying with my question about the $175, I truly confused myself lol. Thank you for being patient and explaining to me over and over till I finally got it! My one and only advice would be to go to sleep for the day/ night ASAP like they tell you to!! I didn't take this serious and about 45 mins later my numbing eye drops wore off and the pain was unbearable, I know I could have avoided this had I knocked out as soon as I got home...like they told me to lol. When I woke up 15 hours later, pain was gone. I've recommended this place to everyone that's asked me about my lasik! read more

Hidden Charges I have been going to the Tylock-George office since 2002 = 20 years. I have been routinely satisfied...until recently. I caution on there hidden fees....I believe they called it a procedure. I went for a routine eye exam, and during the exam the doctor removed something from my eye....the conversation went some like like...."oh you have something in your eye; let me remove it. The "procedure" (as they call it) took maybe 10 seconds. I have been billed a little over $80.00. I called and asked if this could be waived...not being aware that this would come with a fee. The "Billing Manager" was well...rude and unprofessional. She curtly denied my request for the amount to be waived. Oh...she was nice enough to offer a payment plan for the $80.00 balance. Perhaps (not sure) because of my last name she thought I couldn't afford to pay the amount in full. Needless to say I will not be returning....if this is the way they treat a long term patient... Came here for Lasik in December 2021. Had to get one eye corrected in June 2022. Overall my experience here has been very poor. Long wait times in the lobby and within the room. Literally have waited hours without any apology. Last minute cancellations due to staff being sick when you schedule your appointments over 6 months in advance. Rude staff to top it off. I don't recommend this office and I would shy away from it for any Lasik surgery or eye exams in general. read more

I've been going for several years. They were recommended by one of my doctors. Today, I had an appointment at 9:40am. I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Their patient portal is a joke. I tried to log in and it told me to register. I tried to register and it told me I already was. But, even with a Tylock employee on the phone to help, it still didn't work. So, I sat there for 40+ minutes after my scheduled appointment. I went to the desk and cancelled my appointment since I didn't have another 2 hours free. That's how long my normal visits last. My PCP's office referred me to Tylock-George Eye Care. When I talked to them to book an appointment, I asked what policies do they have in place for COVID. It's now August 2021 & we're in a spike with the Delta variant. When the reply was no masks were required, I asked to and spoke with the office administrator. He seemed quite proud that the staff had the "freedom" to not wear masks. So I asked if he would check with Dr. George, who had the authority to set and enforce a masking policy. (Dr. Tylock is retired and Dr. George is now the principal.) When the answer came back a few days later, Dr. George specified there was no policy change. I promptly canceled my appointment and booked with a different ophthalmologist who requires masks at his practice. I refuse to go to a doctor who doesn't care about his patients' health and safety! read more

I can see, I can see- Thank the Lord for Dr. George- Better than 20/20 and better than 20/15 vision, I can even see the 20/10 lines. After Lasik it's like seeing in HD! It's just so much better than contacts or glasses and to not have to mess with contacts is an experience that can't be explained. Set up the appointment now, this is totally worth it, and this doctor is the best! He has the best equipment and I'm not talking about your grandmommas lasik machine, this is the new one. The staff is super nice and helpful and they understand what you need the whole time. The "surgery" takes seconds and is totally painless. It's just weird. You have to get past that, because you're awake, and it's weird, but you don't feel anything. Maybe a little pressure. Also, weird. Call today, change your life forever. read more

The reports of long waits are true but I wish that was my only issue. I used this clinic for my annual checkups after lasik. I was told in at one visit that I had mild cataracts that they needed to watch. One year later I was told that the cataracts were level 4 and that I needed surgery in both eyes. I found this puzzling because, although I had experienced a slight difference in my night vision, I could see colors well. Because they are the professionals, I agreed to the surgery. I was offered two options, the "old, simple lense" or the "new miracle lense with multi focus capabilites that would give me 20-20 vision at all distances and I would not need reading glasses for reading." My insurance covered the "old" lense, the "miracle" lense cost $5000 per eye. There was intense pressure to go with the multi focal lense. The tech said "if you were my grandmother, I would not allow you to consider the old style lense" I am embarrassed to say that I did not research the lense or read reviews on Tyluck. I trusted them. I went with the multi focal lense. The surgery itself was quick and easy but my left eye is permanently damaged and I am afraid to have the surgery on my other eye. The glare is so bad at night that I can only drive short distances near my home where I know the roads and it is uncomfortable to even be a passenger on freeways at night. In the day, I can see with my left eye but it is as if through a dirty window, everything is slightly smudged. After 4 years, my right eye vision is still more clear than my left eye with it's "miracle" lense. At follow up visits, they tell me I have 20-20 in my left eye - not true, I need reading glasses to read. They also admitted, after the surgery, that the slight blur is a common characteristic of the multi focal lense. At my second follow up after the surgery, I had a different tech. He was in his 40s or 50s maybe and it was his last week with Tyluck. He sympathized with my situation and told me he was leaving because the practice had become like "a used car racket" and that he didn't want to be a part of it. He said he personally would never consider the new multi focal lense. I had to finance the $5000 and pay it out over 2 years. Wherever you go for eye care, please research the product and, if a staff member pressures you to select expensive products that insurance does not cover, leave and choose another provider. read more

Dr George was great, as well as the ophthalmologists and technicians. I had PRK with Contoura vision done on 1/9/18 This review is 20 days after my procedure. I've been seeing 20/25 since my one week follow up. *PRK is not immediate and the healing process can be frustrating because some days you can see like an eagle and some days it's like you still need glasses. it's gradually getting better. The 5 star rating is for the surgery and consultations. Be specific on your consultation. If you just want to see if you are a candidate, let them know that upfront and there is no cost. If you get the full consultation, it's $175 but that cost goes into your final cost. My advice that I wish was given to me: take over the counter pain meds as soon as you leave the doctors office so you can get ahead of the pain. Before the surgery I asked the front desk if my husband could fill my prescription for whatever pain meds would be given to me.... they said that all pain meds would be provided. False. I even said "are you sure?" And she said yes. With traffic it took us 2 hours to get home, my husband dropped me off, and he went and turned in the prescription that I asked for to begin with. Well pharmacies does tend to give a crap how quick you need meds. So 2 hours later he comes home to me screaming and crying because it took the pharmacy 2 hours to put 8 hydrocodone in a bottle. When I say screaming and crying - I mean screaming and crying like I was on fire with a stick in my eye. Because of that, the first 24 hours were very rough. When I went back for my one week follow up, the technician sent a request in for my steroid eye drops right from the computer in the room - and it was ready when I got home an hour later. Right after that, in my head, I was like "um why wasn't that done after SURGERY?!?!" All in all, I don't regret the surgery at all. I got PRK for two reasons. 1) my vision was too bad and I did not qualify for lasik. 2) I am active. Here is what you can expect for the first week of PRK from my experience. The first day is terrible. Just expect it. Days 2-4 are uncomfortable but bearable. Feels like sand is in your eyes. Day 5 I could drive during the day *buy some good sunglasses BEFORE you get surgery. If you are going to spend 3k on your eyeballs, spend an extra $150 for sunglasses. I opted for Maui Jim's polarized lenses. The best selection (according to a MJ Rep) to try them on is at ClearView Lasik and Eyecare in Southlake. Good luck with your eyeballs! read more

Initially I went to LasikPlus in order to determine if I was a candidate for Lasik, but the entire experience was impersonal and left me feeling like they just wanted to make money. In fact, they asked if I wanted to get the procedure that same day, despite that I had been wearing my contacts regularly. This led me to find Tylock-George. I did my research, and the M.D.'s are registed with the AAO and ABOP. Right off the bat, the representative on the phone told me not to wear my contacts for a week before coming in for a consultation. From there, everything else was above and beyond. Every employee was helpful and fully attentive, and I truly felt like their only intention was to give the best service possible. Dr. George took the time to fully answer all of my questions and put me fully at ease. I got the Contura surgery, which cost more than Lasik, because there's a higher chance you'll get 20/15 vision. Dr. George was honest enough to say that it was truly not necessary, and only to spend the money if I really wanted too. I knew I found the right place. The day of the procedure, I was lucky enough to have Dr. Reddy. She, (like everyone else in the office) was very kind and professional. I had a wonderful experience at Tylock-George Eye Care. From my first consultation call with Brian who answered all of my questions and was very pleasant to talk with to Margo who, at my appointment, took the time to explain to me what all the machines did during my light test. And when I had further questions after Dr. Sanchez's evaluation, Randy was more than happy to spend the time to answer them and give his honest opinion. From the eye exam to the actual Lasik procedure, Jake and Linda's friendly and positive personalities definitely helped ease the stress of it all and if not for them I probably wouldn't have gone through with it. But I'm so glad I did! My prescription in both eyes were nearing -10 and after Lasik I can see clearer than I ever did with glasses or contacts and colors are much more vibrant. It's been a month now and so far so good! My only complaint is trying to get ahold of Rose to answer a billing question I have. I called, was put on hold, then at one point I was put on a line with another patient! Probably an honest mistake, but still frustrating. I finally called back and I got Rose's answering machine. I left a message and after roughly two weeks later I still haven't heard back. UPDATE 10/8/21 - Updating my review to 5 stars! Initially let's discuss how HORRIBLE my vision was. Barely into my 20s and I had a -7.00 vision. VERY VERY nearsighted. Setting up my appointment was quick and easy. First discussed LASIK with Angelica {front desk receptionist} who just got her procedure done the week prior so she helped my nerves calm and actually got me really excited. Set up my first consultation on Wednesday and was approved for LASIK. Literally scheduled my LASIK for the same week on Friday. Such a quick and flexible scheduled they had. The LASIK, doctors, nurses, etc... let's just say everyone in this office made me feel so calm and at ease with this procedure. I mean they are working on your eyes??!?!? So I got into the office they administered all of the exams again to make sure my eyes didn't change (even in a two-day period). I received the calming pill; forgot the name. Was taken back where I received the numbing drops for my eyes and next thing you know I was in the bed. Was the scariest part but literally I got to hold Renee's hands really tight and she was comforting when they finished the procedure in 10 minutes. Dr. George was helpful in any questions I had and when I was finished the stinging did start hurting when I was on my way home from the surgery. Took the two sleeping pills and I was out!! Next day, post-op was with Danielle and she was awesome!!! Told me I was all good even though my bandage on my eye somehow decided to make it's way out on my way to the visit. OVERALL, NO REGRETS ON THE COST, THE VISIT and THE PROCEDURE. These people are amazing and obviously since they work on Rangers + Starz players!! If I could give more stars then I definitely will. I had LASIK surgery this past month at Tylock. I highly, highly recommend them. When I first called them, Kyle was extremely helpful and offered me a firm price over the phone. This price was honest, and there were zero add-on charges. When I had a scheduling conflict for my follow-up care, William was extraordinary and made me follow-up care arrangements with a doctor local to me -- at Tylock's expense, with no cost to me. My surgery itself was excellent. When I needed a medication refill at one point after my surgery, I telephoned Tylock's office and literally received a phone call from a doctor in under an hour with a refill sent to the pharmacy right afterward. Tylock is a high volume LASIK operation, but I don't think this is a negative. I feel more comfortable doing a surgery when a surgeon has thousands of similar operations under their belt, because their proficiency is likely to be higher and there is a reduced likelihood of mistakes. One of my friends did LASIK elsewhere with another LASIK place and experienced some (minor) complications; I have not observed any complications from my surgery so far. In summary, I highly recommend Tylock for LASIK surgery. They have gone above and beyond in every way toward me. I had my lasik done by Dr. George around Halloween 2017. Before this, I had several consultations done by other lasik surgeons, but I decided on Tyloick and George because of how thorough their consultation was. Dr. George was not the most chatty surgeon, BUT he was extremely detail oriented and knowledgeable which to me is far more important and the ultimate reason I chose to do my surgery with him. Since they require you to be out of contacts for 2 weeks prior to your consultation and surgery, they were able to get me in the morning after my consultation here which was much appreciated. The entire process was nerve wrecking before it began, but they talk you through each step to make you feel comfortable. After the surgery is completed, you will laugh at how easy it is because you freaked out so much. The first night there was some discomfort, but I took the medicine they gave me and woke up with clear eyes and a bit cloudy vision. This is normal and clears up over the next week. I'm not 3 months post surgery and have 20/15 vision and could not be happier with my experience here. I would highly recommend getting your lasik done here. read more

Horrible, this place is a scam. Went in for an eye exam back in January was told it would be $175.00. I agreed to the service, paid and left. Eight months later I get a statement in the mail stating I owe another $35.00. Called and they didn't answer for days. After finally getting a call back they stated that they quoted me wrong and billed me wrong. They are trying to make me pay for something that is there fault. False advertising. Staff is all incredibly polite and thorough. Never had an unanswered question. My wife and I both had Lasik done at the same time. Mine was an enhancement, hers was her first. Day after and I'm already 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other WITH the bandage contacts still in!!! She's close to 20/20 on the day after with the bandage lenses still in and her vision was BAD before. The post OP instructions are advanced from my last time, and seem to help in the recovery. The most discomfort I've felt has been the feeling of dry eyes. No pain. The closest thing to a downside was how busy they are. But, one is reassured knowing that they don't rush through ANY process and make sure every patient receives the evaluation and treatment required. My wife just had her second LASIK here this past week. The first surgery lasted over 15 years and she had to get one of her eyes redone due to some deterioration in that eye over 15 years. Medically we think this Dr is top notch and obviously very good in his field. Also really smart to advertise the Texas Rangers and Mavericks affiliation. To both of us it does the feel of a factory or patient mill to it. They are running a lot of people through here daily for one of the three appointments they require (mapping, actual procedure and follow up) We did end up paying $400 more than original quoted over the phone due to the condition of her eyesight. Who knows if they do this to everyone but a bit of bait and switch the day before. All in all I think they do a good job and recommend but you need to realie thier are a lot of other patients here with you read more

I was not at all pleased with meeting Dr George for the first time. Their office called me to reschedule my appointment from Friday (my convenient time) to Thursday (my really busy day for me time) at 8:30am I asked how long the appointment would take and was told 30-40 mins to an hour tops and I would be his first patient of the day so I agreed and stressed to the appointment taker over the phone that Thursdays are really tight timing for me he reassured me again it would be no more than an hour. I got there at 8:19am and let the staff know that Thursdays are my busiest days and the sooner I get the appt. done the better There were two other people in the waiting room. More people came in and a few of those people along with the ones there when I got there were taken back to be placed in rooms to be seen. I inquired at the desk my concern of this and reiterated my urgency of my day the front desk said the others were there to see other Doctors and for other things/check ups but would check to see how much longer. I was told any minute now they'll be calling me back. 6 mins later and after waiting 45 mins I got in a room. The lady had me sign a few things on their computer and the computer kept messing up so I had to re-sign two more times ok not a big deal these things happen she was apologetic and sincerely sorry, really nice about it. She walked out and again I waited to the point of walking out at 1 hour and 8 mins in now. Finally Dr George walks in takes one look at me does a huge sigh and mumbled something, all I heard was his last name and my last name walked straight to the computer in the room started typing and talking. I then said "Stop, did anyone in your office tell you I was hearing impaired?" He stopped typing turned and faced me and literally glared at me about 5 seconds like how dare I ask him that! He then started YELLING at me in anger of my appointment/surgery details! I then said "Stop!, Now you're yelling at me!" He replied "well apparently I didn't get it right the first time and I'm trying to accommodate you!" I then asked if I was his first appointment, he said "nope we are very very busy office Very Busy!" I said well I was told I would be your first patient and it would take no more than an hour. He said "I can reschedule you! " I said no as I wasn't going to go through this with him all over again and he said then you can ask me questions before surgery. I said No and asked him all the questions I needed answers and also reworded a question and he spitefully and unprofessionally answered like "I just told you that!" Needlessly to say with a very rude and condescending attitude like that I DO NOT NOR WOULD NOT TRUST HIM WITH MY EYES!!! Horrible experience!!! read more

This place is a very shady organization. I was initially quoted $4,800 for Contoura LASIK with a lifetime assurance warranty. The sales consultant I spoke with indicated that they could honor a price match if I could provide a quote from another practice. They did not honor that commitment. After sometime passed they contacted me back and lured me back in with a price reduction. I drove an hour to their location for my scheduled procedure and they tried to pull another one on me. They changed the lifetime warranty to a limited warranty. The rep I was speaking with indicated that they no longer offered a lifetime assurance warranty. I pulled it up on their website and he was at a loss for words. He went to speak with his "manager". He then stated that it would cost me $5,055 if I would like the lifetime assurance warranty, which is more than my initial quote. The Texas Rangers should sever their relationship with this unethical practice. I encourage you not to do business with this company. read more

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A REAL REVIEW HERE YOU HAVE ONE. I found this place on google I had been going to Walmart for years but my health insurance recently covered vision so I thought I'd upgrade. This was not an upgrade though at all. I filled out the paper work upon arrival and the receptionist kept asking me what I did for work I told her self and she kept pressing the issue until I said not your business. It was no where on any forms where it asked that, she was just being nosey. After waiting 30 minutes from my appointment I got in with a nurse and explained to her my general health with my eyes. She had never heard of brown syndrome? While that is not common it's not unheard of and I don't know if she had proper training or what happened but I had to explain it to her. She was nice otherwise, dialed my eyes. I had to wait for 45 minutes in a separate waiting room so this is where I get really mad. I can't see anything I'm not occupied for almost an hour until I finally walk out and ask why I havnt been helped since I've seen so many people come and go. Someone points to the room and said yeah just walk in there ??? There's two woman laughing about something and fucking off at work while I have to wait? I don't have things to do? Okay well I walk in the room and I'm mad. I sit down she asks me the same questions the nurse did like she didn't have a whole hour to read the notes and starts touching my eye without warning I have ptsd you can't just touch my face at random. So the nurse gave me a little stronger prescription than last year but the doctor gave me the same one I had two years- my vision has gotten worse since then. She told me what kind of contacts she was gonna give me she didn't ask I have dry eyes and oasis drys them out and specifically said I can't wear oasis she gives me four oasis (2 days worth) and said this will be good until the shipment comes in right? The only contacts I can wear or total 1s or more expensive she completely disregarded my prescription or what I wanted she just gave it to me and didn't explain. She also asked me when I got brown syndrome this is honestly funny to me cause you can only get it at birth or at a young age. Dr sanchaz was her name. I'm so irritated I wasted hours here and she gives me a day supple until she can "order total 1s" because we " don't have every kind of contact". I go to check out and I pay the Co-pay with 57.10? Whatever no problem but when I called and made the appointment they didn't mention there was a 100 dollar contact fitting fee and they also tried to charge me for glasses ? That I never asked for. I said that's fine but I need the script because this is too much I can't wait weeks with just wearing my glasses I'll go somewhere else. They tried to charge me 200 dollars the receptionist had broken glasses mind you. I said you know what I don't want it I'll go to Walmart tomorrow where I know they'll have total ones and I'll only have to spend an hour there. I left the office in tears because the doctor made me feel uncomfortable and would not cooperate with anything I wanted l. The nurse who was the most helpful lacked and education and your receptionist is unprofessional idk what her name was but she had braces. Unless you want to wait there for hours and not get anything you ask for you should go to Walmart. This place is the reason I am getting lasik! I went to two places prior to and while I was still interested in the procedure I just didn't feel very confident in my decision to choose them. Today, after my consultation, I have decided that this is the place! Check in staff was super friendly. I only waited about 5 minutes past my appointment time where I was then escorted back by Juliette (this spelling could be incorrect) and she was fantastic! She explained everything we would be doing and why we were doing it. Dr Hayes then came in to check me out again and determined I was a good candidate. I paid my consult fee of $175 and then waited for pricing -yes there is a fee if you do the full evaluation but it is taken off the price of the procedure.(I will say that when I made the appointment I was not made aware of this, but Juliette let me know prior to dilation and I agreed to it). She then sat down with me again and went over pricing, any discounts I'd receive, what to expect before/during/after and when I had a question about an eye insurance discount she was quick to confirm with Brian that I did qualify and they got my paperwork modified immediately. I am now scheduled for Lasik and am super thrilled I decided to try out more than one place! read more

Getting your eyes lasered is no joke! I've done a lot of research with pricing and reviews for LASIK centers all over Dallas, and I'm glad I chose Tylock. First of all, while there are plenty of specials and promotions, I don't think finding the cheapest deal is the best when it comes to your eyes. I've got my eyes done for a total of $2900 (I paid the cash discount). Tylock DOES price match other doctors, and has prices that are normal within the national average cost of LASIK per eye. He falls under the 40% range of all doctors to charge $1500-2000 per eye. I think all LASIK procedures are relatively the same across the board and there will always be minor risk involved. However, I went with Tylock based on how comfortable the environment and his staff made me feel. Not once was I ever pushed or pressured to go on with the procedure. I never felt like I was being sold something (and I HATE when people are pushy and say they are the "best in Texas" or some shit like that). I was always treated with respect and courtesy from each of his staff. All questions were answered until I felt right, and I was repeated my post-op eye regime many many times until they felt like I got it right before I was on my own. The optometrist also made me feel at ease because she double-checked the prescription of my eyes to make sure Tylock had accurate numbers before he began. The only reason why I gave Tylock 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish he gave more attention to his patients. Before I went in for the procedure, they wrote my name on a name tag so the doctor can identify me. That wasn't a good feeling because it felt impersonal. Here I am, trusting this man to cut my eyeballs, and he doesn't even know my name until the last minute. And I think I spoke to him for less that 5 minutes. Yeah yeah, you're a busy man and have many procedures to do, but it wouldn't hurt to walk around your office and check up on people. But he did the job and I'm happy. read more

Noticed that Dr. Tylock only had a few reviews, so I thought I'd throw my 2c in. I had my procedure done recently on 06/13/2014 and I'm very happy with the results. Drove around a bit today with my sunglasses on and I could actually spot individual leaves on the trees as I was driving by. My vision has never been this good, even with contacts and glasses. The process goes something like this: First, you call and schedule for a consult. This consists of a few eye tests and lots of lights and gizmos pointed at your eye to make sure you are an ideal candidate. There are 2 phases to the consult. The first phase is free, and requires no commitment. If you feel like proceeding further, they continue and perform more detailed tests, and this requires putting $170 down, which is subtracted from your total due. The entire process is relatively pressure free, and they are very upfront with you on when a down payment would be required. Once they are sure you are a good candidate, you schedule the date for the actual procedure. On the date of the procedure, you do a little paperwork, get some more consultations, and then are guided into the operation room. You lay down in a chair while a technician places what seems like half a dozen different drops in your eyes until the doc is ready for you. While I was waiting, I could overhear someone else having the procedure no more than 10 feet from me. Once he was done, I was next up. I did feel a *bit* like I was on an assembly line, and I didn't meet doctor Tylock until 10 minutes before my procedure (and this was while I had my eyes totally shut). I actually didn't even get a good look at him until AFTER my procedure was done. But frankly, I don't think there was anything the office could have done any better to alleviate this, short of seeing way less patients. Everyone was really friendly and I can't complain about the people or the results. Oh and a quick tip: They will offer you some Valium before the procedure to calm your nerves. Even if you feel comfortable, I would suggest taking the Valium. I felt perfectly calm before the procedure and thought I wouldn't need it, but I really wish I did when it started. There really wasn't much pain, but there was definitely a bit of discomfort/pressure on the eye during the procedure. That + the smell of your own corneas burning off from the lazer can definitely make even the most stoic of us a bit queezy. read more

Nobody's perfect, but they do a great job of making you feel comfortable with a procedure that can be stressing. Went here for my LASIK surgery because they did such a good job of being patient with me and my questions. Never felt pressured or rushed and never felt like I was just a number with them either. read more
