I like the ambiance at Trailhead. The store is really nice and well composed in its limited space. They even have a shop dog - Boudreaux (at least I think that's his name) - who is really cool and further adds to the laid-back feel of the environment. The customer service is pretty good. I don't have the appearance of a serious rider, so some of my questions have been met with some dubious looks. That's something I've come to expect over time. However, I will say that they have always been very courteous and kind at Trailhead. As a big bonus, they're open on Sundays, which is one of my favorite riding days. It's great to be able to go grab something that I might need before I head out for a ride.

If I wanted a "attitude", I would find a shop that carries high end Italian gear like Pinarello, Campy, etc. Two times and I'm out. The first experience I had with this employee was just after I arrived in Alabama, driving here from California and needing a competent wheel guy to true up a wheel that lost is true either through rack vibration or heavy winds or both. I didn't bring my truing stand with me for this trip. The bike was on a rack with the wheel exposed off the side of the van. This employee doubted the cause of the wheel going out of true from what I described. LOOK IT UP ON GOOGLE! The second experience was just last week when I needed a presta adapter. As mentioned, I use local shops as much as possible for small parts. The adapter was 2x that price on Amazon. I asked this same employee whether they "keystoned" the markup or if was tariffs or something like that. I got attitude again and a smarta** response. He said he didn't know what keystone pricing (GOOGLE IT) is and if I can educate him, in a condescending manner. I did purchase the adapter. I ride a KHS Team 29'r and do most of my own work on it. I usually use local shops to pick up high margin accessories and have always had a great relationship with the shops I've used. Mostly because of their commitment to quality customer service. The independent bike shop is a tough business. Believe me, I know by experience. If this shop can afford to be represented by this kind of employee, more power to you and good luck in this market.

Attitude was bad and falsely judged from the start. Then they hold it for over 2 months and I call in to get another nasty woman on the phone wanting me to pay a big fee just for looking at it. I can understand the fee to a degree, but the attitude and behavior of this dysfunctional crew who simply are supposed ti be respectful and fix mowers should keep you away from this zero level "service". Easy to find. I walk in its a small place with LOTS of stuff. Anyway nice lady immediately welcomes me ready to assist. Mind you I'm that person that shows up with parts in hand and pictures with no clue but this is what I need. She's right on it. Her computer says she didn't have it. She still took the time to go look... While she is gone a gentleman asked if I had been helped. Yes sir.. she comes back she has it.. I asked for another part, she goes to retrieve that. Another employee asked if I had been helped.. yes ma'am. Got all I needed within 5 minutes. I have been in stores seen 40 employee no one offers to assist, and definitely not with the effort they did. Personally owned or big box stores employee's should be trained here. Highly recommend checking out peddler in Decatur. Customer service will be enough to bring you back.

When we got there, we found that the guy we spoke with is the owner and sells his stock out of his garage. Which is great, no brick and mortar pricing! Unfortunately, we also found out that he doesn't update the "sales" on the website so the bikes we went to look at weren't actually on sale. The owner is very knowledgeable about his product but is a bit on the narcissistic side. That's fine, I'm not married to him, we're just there to buy a bike. He told us if we ever had any questions, we could shoot him a message and he'd get back to us promptly. Since we are new to the e-bike community we had a question a day after we got home with the bikes of why something wasn't working as it should be. But instead of helping us figure out what the problem was and how to fix it he insisted that "we" must have "touched something" and changed a setting (which we didn't, we just pushed the display button to turn it on) but he never told us how to fix the issue so we ended up googling it instead and got it figured out on our own. In my opinion, if you say you'll be there for your customers if they have questions, then do that. Once the sale was over and he had his money, the relationship was pretty much over. Don't get me wrong, we like the bikes and I guess that's what really matters. However, if we ever need service or have any questions down the road, we're a little concerned about what kind of response well get.

I searched retailers and couldn't find any in stock online or in-store except at REI which is located in Mid City. I don't know if people really like the product or maybe the manufacturer doesn't produce enough for inventory to be on shelves. We committed to helping a friend maintain their pool and I knew I had to buy mosquito repellent. We went to REI which is a camping type of store. I do not camp do the only thing I was interested in was the Ben's. Apparently this store has a membership program that I was not interested in hearing about as I do not camp. I found Ben's by the front entrance. So lucky! The store has a variety of gear at prices higher than other nationally known stores. I went to pay and was asked if I was a card holder and I said I am not and I am not interested in being one. I paid for my Ben's and snd the sales clerk handed me my purchases back. I asked for a printed receipt and a bag. I didn't want my receipt emailed. The lady told me they were going green or are green, I can't remember. I asked her if I am to walk out of the store holding the products and she said yes. I felt eyes on me as we left. I was glad they had the product. Many mosquitoes tried to land on us while we are maintaining the pool but they left. Ben's works very well.
