After spending $22,000 on a brand new tractor. The experience at Frederick's outdoor was something that I still can't wrap my head around. The tractor we bought has been in and out of the shop several times. It's been less than a year and it's gone more than it is here. Very frustrating as you can imagine! After the fourth time, Frederick's outdoor dropped off a brand new tractor to us and we thought they were doing the right thing! We were ecstatic and thought that they were standing by their Customer Service! We were happy until we weren't when the phone call came, they dropped off the wrong tractor. OK, disappointed, but whatever, we set up a date and time to do a tractor swap! Unbelievable, but we are getting the old sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't track her back. The date and time was set up for 930 the following morning. Apparently that wasn't good enough for the Owner Tom Fredericks. He proceeded to call making demands to pick up the tractor sooner. Wanting to know where we were so that he was on his way and could get it immediately. That's not how things work. You don't go demanding to know where we are, we don't work for you. We have our own lives, we work. We have it all set up for a 930 pick up and delivery for the following day. After he continued to yell at us, we hung up. 930 the next morning came and went. The schedule delivery time there was no pick up no drop off. We did receive a phone call that they would be late, our valuable time once again is I guess no big deal to Frederick's outdoor. 40 minutes late, yes, 40 minutes. And we have out of state guests in the home which we had plans for, but we needed to sit around and wait for Fredericks outdoor to show up on their time. A flatbed truck rolls around at 10:10 I say hello to the Driver he mumbled something I couldn't hear. He does the tractor switch, we inspect our tractor and it looks OK, he takes the new one and we noticed that there's only one key on our key ring which we turned in with two. The new tractor that did show up had our name on the key tag so we told the driver that we needed two keys back since we did turn it in with two and we only have one. He said OK and then proceeded to raise the bed of the truck and that's where this video shows I had just jumped off the bed after taking the key out of the new tractor so now we have our two keys back. This did not make him happy. He proceeded to yell at me for taking the key that I own. He can have the new tractor back, but I am taking both of our keys back. The whole experience dealing with Frederick's outdoor was unbelievable. Not only that, but they proceeded to send us a text message saying that we were trespassed from all Frederick's outdoors, service centers, and such. This is unbelievable because we have a warranty with our product that we paid so much money for. This is completely absurd. Wehl, Fredericks, and all of your employees. You are no longer allowed on our property either. I do not feel safe with you or your drivers anywhere near us after seeing the display from your Driver as he gave us the middle finger driving away from our home. He is unstable and I am threatened by him. read more

Buying a tractor from Fredrick's last year was a huge mistake. The tractor I bought has had issues and gone in for the same issue 3 times and the last time it was returned still broken. I sent it back again and last week a new tractor was delivered to my house. Today they called wanting it back because it was a mistake. This seems to a pretty big mistake. When I've turned my tractor in for repairs I've called to get updates because it will go in for repairs and you don't get any calls and when you call someone is always out to lunch or not in seems they are buying time to find an answer then call you back. Now they are returning the tractor they can't seem to fix. Poor service poor product save yourself and go somewhere else. read more

I cannot speak to every customer's experience, but I can speak to what I witnessed publicly. The owner chose to use the R-word, a term that has long been recognized as offensive and hurtful to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the parent of a child with special needs, that alone is enough for me to take my business elsewhere. What was even more disappointing was seeing him also refer to someone as "Mr. PTSD" in a dismissive way. PTSD is a very real condition that affects many veterans and others who have experienced trauma. Using it as an insult reflects a lack of compassion and professionalism. Businesses are free to respond to criticism, but how an owner chooses to communicate publicly says a great deal about their character and how they represent their company. I believe words matter, and respect matters. Because of what I witnessed, I cannot recommend supporting this business. read more

After talking with Tom Fredricks about a bill that I was not real happy with, I was surprised to get a refund on some work that HE thought that I didn't need. You don't find that kind of integrity in business much anymore. I highly recommend this business for all of your outdoor needs. read more

I purchased premier access tickets for a special event held twice a year here at Fredricks Outdoor (starting at $50 rising to $100 nearer the day of show). General admission is provided free to anyone wearing a $20 Fredricks Tshirt, which is a great deal for a lifetime of free admission to their twice yearly musical concerts. This event was an outdoor performance by Alabama native Jamey Johnson. This concert event was held on Saturday night, April 28th, 2018. The back of this outdoor equipment store has a covered loading dock which serves as a stage facing a large grassy pasture area where concert goers park and then pass through a security check area to arrange their own chairs to enjoy the music. A large screen TV above the stage provides a good view of the performers even to people as far away as the parking lot. This was probably the best organized and orderly event I've ever attended of this size. Just guessing I would say well over 5,000 people. Ample security personnel were on hand and parking attendants handled parking in the open pasture to maximize space and leave plenty of exit aisle space. Handicap parking was not provided which caused some problems. Crowds were long for concessions and bathrooms but everyone seemed to have a really great time and enjoyed the music. Jamey Johnson and a super talented group of musicians put on a stellar show. You can tell the crowd is full of fans when you can hear the crowd singing along with the songs. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Fredricks Outdoors yesterday. While visiting from Minnesota to compete in the Bassmaster Open, our boat trailer started squeaking. Being so far from home this was a very big concern. We called and George said to bring it in. George was very helpful and all the mechanics immediately started inspecting the trailer. They quickly diagnosed the issue and started working on it. Everyone there was so friendly and the place is beautiful. Our Legend boat trailer was rather new and the staff at Fredricks made many calls to see if it was still under warranty. I called Fredricks on Saturday because I had an issue with my Honda outboard and decided to take it down for repairs. The service manager, Jeff Gray, immediately diagnosed the problem so I left it with him. On Monday I received a call from Jeff informing me that my repair was ready for pick-up. We had a very small problem initially with our Mahindra tractor and everyone, from the owner to dispatcher, went above and beyond what we had expected in performing the service. Started out as a great buying experience. Sale staff was great and very helpful with buying a boat from out of state. I received the boat with no problems. Once the boat was in the water it started taking on water into the engine compartment and the other dry storage compartments. After talking to Yamaha, I was told to contact the dealer, that was the biggest waste of my time. They offered zero help with getting the boat fixed. Once they get the check it's no longer their problem. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. They sold me a lemon and they will do the same to you. read more
