I brought in my wheel and they mounted and topped it off with sealant at no charge. I needed a valve stem once and they just gave it to me. Anytime I need anything for my bike I come here first. Attitude was bad and falsely judged from the start. Then they hold it for over 2 months and I call in to get another nasty woman on the phone wanting me to pay a big fee just for looking at it. I can understand the fee to a degree, but the attitude and behavior of this dysfunctional crew who simply are supposed ti be respectful and fix mowers should keep you away from this zero level "service". She still took the time to go look... While she is gone a gentleman asked if I had been helped. Yes sir.. she comes back she has it.. I asked for another part, she goes to retrieve that. Another employee asked if I had been helped.. yes ma'am. Got all I needed within 5 minutes. I have been in stores seen 40 employee no one offers to assist, and definitely not with the effort they did. Personally owned or big box stores employee's should be trained here. Highly recommend checking out peddler in Decatur. Customer service will be enough to bring you back.

We had questions, and they were answered with the bare minimum of a response. The only reason we purchased a bike from there was brand recognition. It is unfortunate that we didn't find Bicycle Cove until later. We visited two other bike shops in the area and were very unimpressed. When we walked in the doors of Bicycle Cove, we felt like we were at home. The owners (a very laid back couple who spend more time listening to your needs than they do trying to sell you something) make you feel like you have been neighbors for years, and even remembered our names the next time we came in for a visit. The store is very spacious and roomy. They offer a large variety of helmets, bike shoes, gloves, men's and women's apparel, hydration options, pumps, on the bike storage, bike computers, lights, locks, handlebars, handlebar accessories, lube, cleaners, saddles, trainers, and of course BIKES! What we absolutely love about Bicycle Cove is that they are comfortable in selling triathlon gear! They offer wet suits, tri kits, literature on triathlons, goggles, tri bikes, tri handlebars, and other fantastic tri gear. They are obviously passionate about bicycle safety, offering clinics on changing a flat tire, giving tips on what to look for when you have a blowout mid-ride, and other such fun. They know the laws for riding in town, and on Redstone Arsenal. They took the time to ensure my children's helmets fit properly and taught each of them how to don it and take it off. Their service department is efficient, and thorough. What really sold me on this store is how one of the owners reacted one day when my husbands eyes were bigger than his wallet. Chris asked my husband what his motivations in triathlons were. My husband said that he isn't competitive yet, and didn't expect to be for a few more years. Chris took the $200 item out of my husband's hands and replaced it with a $70 option. This showed me that the store is more interested in a long term relationship with their customers than they are in making one large sale. Visit this shop. You won't regret it.

If I wanted a "attitude", I would find a shop that carries high end Italian gear like Pinarello, Campy, etc. Two times and I'm out. The first experience I had with this employee was just after I arrived in Alabama, driving here from California and needing a competent wheel guy to true up a wheel that lost is true either through rack vibration or heavy winds or both. I didn't bring my truing stand with me for this trip. The bike was on a rack with the wheel exposed off the side of the van. This employee doubted the cause of the wheel going out of true from what I described. LOOK IT UP ON GOOGLE! The second experience was just last week when I needed a presta adapter. As mentioned, I use local shops as much as possible for small parts. The adapter was 2x that price on Amazon. I asked this same employee whether they "keystoned" the markup or if was tariffs or something like that. I got attitude again and a smarta** response. He said he didn't know what keystone pricing (GOOGLE IT) is and if I can educate him, in a condescending manner. I did purchase the adapter. I ride a KHS Team 29'r and do most of my own work on it. I usually use local shops to pick up high margin accessories and have always had a great relationship with the shops I've used. Mostly because of their commitment to quality customer service. The independent bike shop is a tough business. Believe me, I know by experience. If this shop can afford to be represented by this kind of employee, more power to you and good luck in this market.

Not happy at all…read more After several days of calling the shop I finally reached the co-owner. I gave this shop my motorcycle along with a list of items that needed attention as well as instructions to go over it from top to bottom and repair whatever is needed, plus to clean it. Ended up needing a rear tire, fluids and two switches replaced. Great difficulty reaching the shop, I left VMs on both the shop phone as well as the owners cell phone, none of the calls were returned. They kept the bike two weeks which caused me to have to cancel a business trip out west. I finally got the bike back after two weeks, it was still dirty, still having trouble with one of the switches and all I got was "We're sorry for the delay, see you next time", I think not.
