I went to Outspokin' Bicycles first and the guy I talked to couldn't even give me an actual price to tune-up my bike, just kept saying, "It's going to be very expensive to fix this, I recommend just buying a new bike." Even after explaining that buying a new bike wasn't in my budget and that I simply wanted a tune-up, they continued to tell me how expensive it would be to fix my bike. They listed a long series of repairs, never gave me a clear estimate, and said it would be more than two weeks before I'd get my bike back. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion at Cycle Center--and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, they were friendly, honest, and helpful. They gave me a clear, very reasonable quote, completed the work in just two days, and when I picked up my bike, I could hardly believe it was the same one. It looked and rode like new! I had another trip and had to scramble and rent a bunch of equipment since they shipped it late. When the bike arrived it was packed poorly. No packing materials and zip ties tied directly to the frame which scratched the paint. Missing from the box were both my locking skewers and my front headlight mount. The stem is messed up and won't tighten. In the end I'm out close to $500 thanks to this shop.
