This really a review for one sales person at Trail Richmond. Our five year old Igloo 3.5 cu ft chest freeze suddenly died on us. The manufacturer, Curtis, does not nor want to support it. After spending half a day exploring repair and purchase options I reached out to Ryan Paterson at Trail Richmond. Though my wife and I have worked with him on our new home build I did not want to bother him initially, because he specializes on new home construction. I thought a sale of a small freezer would be a bother for Ryan. I was wrong. Ryan was super responsive, quoted a competitive price and helped out with the haul away of our old freezer. I've purchased the washer and dryer and was expecting it to arrive today Nov 25th. I've even took the day off to wait for it to arrive. But when the delivery guy arrived, he said that the dryer was dented and would need to request for a redelivery. This wasted my time waiting for my order to arrive and the amount of work I could of done. This was very unacceptable and when I chat with the store manager named Kyle, he said that there's nothing he could do to help fix this issue. Kyle said "if everyone comes back to us with the same issue then we'll be broke." So you're saying you have quality issue and that it's my fault for being unlucky to have received a defective one. So I was unlucky for having to take a day off work just to wait for my delivery for nothing and thats my own fault for not realizing that you have bad quality of handling products and that this happens often according to Kyle the store manager at Richmond. It should be the manager's responsibility for ensuring the product is in good condition before sending to the customer. why dont you fix your quality control instead by ensuring the product is good at the warehouse before delivering it to the customer and not having to arrive at my place before unboxing and realizing that its dented and then telling me that my product will be delayed. how is this fair for me or any other customers dealing with this? read more

I just bought 3 appliances from them. I find their service very good, a knowledgeable product specialist, and their friendly manager is easy to talk to. Their showroom is clean and organize, staff are giving service with a smile, and even offers coffee and cookies because it happens to be the last day of their anniversary sale yesterday. I had bought my previous refrigerator from them in 2016 and went back to them cause they have people to do the delivery, remove the old appliance and install the new one in with no problem. Unfortunately I cannot recommend trial appliances. My overall experience was awful and a waste of time. I had to ask for my money back due to the fact that they can't price match like they say on their website. Some of the appliances that I ordered was going to take three months and more before I would receive them. Management at the Richmond branch do not get back to you if you have serious concerns, only when you request your money back. When management can't price match their competitors, they slag them off to try and win your favour, hoping that will justifies the sale. Quick to take your money but ever so slow to return it when they can't deliver. Management is definitely the problem with this brunch. read more

Just renovated our place and we got ALL new appliances from Trail, minimum we spent $20k. First, my partner and I went in store to look at some of the appliances. You don't buy these things that often so we wanted to actually see them in person before purchasing. When we got there we were literally ignored. Walked around for a bit and finally asked someone to help us with cooktops. The man showed us where they were and then walked away. Then we ask another lady for help, she kinda shows us the washers/dryers and then when we mention we're working with a designer she says "ohh I work on commission so you should really just talk to the rep your designer works with." Okayyyy but we're here now could you just take like 15mins to give us some info (side note, the store was like empty. Employees were literally standing at the main desk chatting to each other). Now, months later we finally have all our appliances installed except the fridge we got NEVER WORKED. We moved in July 27th. I haven't had a working fridge in about a month. It took them a week to even send someone out to look at the fridge just to confirm that it did not work. So, an order for a replacement goes in, annddddd another week or so goes by. Finally our contractor pushes them into sending us a loaner fridge. *another week later* Oh but wait, our replacement fridge is now at their warehouse but they can't install it until Sept 3rd and spoiler no loaner fridge. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you have a choice, save yourself the frustration, time and money and avoid trail appliances at all cost. The washing machines that they have delivered have ALL had factory/manufacturing/installation defects that rendered the machine unusable after a month or so- this is the second washing machine that has broken due to factory defects in the last 8 weeks, and the 4th or 5th overall. (I've started to lose count) The latest error code no one even knew what it meant! They avoided calling us back for a week, and when we finally got ahold of them we were told that they could not give us a normal 4 hour service window as usual, but we would have to be home all day on a Wednesday to wait for them. Now, for the second time in 2 months I have to miss a full day of work because they cant get it together. I called the manager to complain about this fact, hoping that they would at least care enough about customer service and our bad experiences to arrange a proper service time window so that I wouldnt have to miss a full day. He told me that he would call me back within 2 hours with a time. Surprise, surprise; no call back. We purchased a new fridge last fall, on May 14th it stopped working. We have not had a working refrigerator in our apartment for 27 days. We have had a repairman come 3x, we've missed work for the repairman 3x and we still do not have a working fridge. Trail has been difficult to get on the phone and hasn't called back when they've said they would. We have spent at least as much money on missed work, take out food, and ice than we spent on this fridge. We both have jobs where it is difficult to get to the phone, and we've been dealing with Trail, Samsung and Totem appliance, with all the 'on holds' and 'call backs' (or not call backs as the in the case of Trail Customer Service) as you would expect. We were told when we purchased that repairs were done in house, why are we having to deal with Samsung & Totem? I purchased an LG Washer (WM3500CW) and Dryer 4 months ago from Trail in RICHMOND, BC. I recently noticed puddles of water forming in front of my washer towards the end of a wash cycle. I called Trail and they told me NOT their problem, gave me LG contact information (I paid for extended warranty as well). I called LG, rep said that because I am poor and live in a condo and not a house that they do not service STACKED machines unless I manage to remove the Dryer first, MYSELF, off of the Washing Machine. I live alone, it is not light and it's in a tight spot. The rep said because of covid LG does not send out 2 technicians anymore (it's a brand new machine, covid will be around for 2+ more years, long time to wait for washer to get serviced). I drove to Trail Appliances, spoke with a Manager and asked if I could RETURN the set because the Manufacturer refused to service the set under the 1st year Warranty. I broke down the dilemma I was in. The Manager said "Too bad, ya, we can't help you, until year 2 of your extended warranty coverage". I suggested, "What if I just pay for the repair privately myself, even though the machine is under FULL first year warranty, just so it gets fixed?" Reply - "You could do that, but it will VOID the remaining LG warranty and the extended warranty that i PURCHASED for years 2 and 3). I then said I can't wait another 8 months to have a working Washing Machine, that seems unreasonable, and I asked, "Should I just buy another new washer/dryer set now and have the delivery/installation guys haul out the new LG set and throw them in the garbage?" I don't see an alternative solution? His reply, "Yes, that is an OPTION! But you should consider selling the LG set privately, because THEY ARE NEW, at least you could get some money back!" UNBELIEVABLE! Wow. (Lousy Garbage is what LG stands for, not Life's Good) and Fail Appliances is a better name also, not Trail Appliances, unless it's a trail that leads to utter remorse and disgust!!! It gets BETTER folks! I called LG again a few hours later, spoke with a different employee. This employee didn't care that the machines were stacked and made a service appointment NO PROBLEM, for 5 days later, informed me that a technician would call me the day before to set a service window time, fair enough. I waited, day before, no call. I called LG a third time now, customer care representative quickly confirmed that the previous colleague made detailed notes, even that He told me EXACTLY what he did and to await a call and appointment would be for Wednesday...just one problem, that customer care rep never bothered to "share" this information with the next person, technician or whomever was supposed to be notified next, they Clearly, Intentionally, did not pass on the information knowing that it would result in further issues, new issues that didn't need to be created. So, the employee was VERY quick to apologize and said, "please don't get mad! But if I were YOU I would be pissed! BUT, my colleague in what appears to be Blatant or INTENTIONAL, did not properly process the appointment that HE TOLD YOU he made on Saturday, and I will be forwarding this to my supervisor for Him to be Disciplined!". LOL Wow. I then got another appointment made, again told a technician would call you on Friday (before Saturday time slot for service). I received one call, missed it in the morning as I was working. I called back, left a voicemail, did not get a call back. Not really surprised. So on Saturday morning I called the technician back, he was confused by my call even though he was supposed to service my machine that day and did attempt to call me the day before. He RELUCTANTLY agreed to find the time to service the machine because it sounded like he had a full schedule for the day. So, technician comes in, turns the washing machine on, sees suds and says "Your machine has detergent residue build-up because you are NOT supposed to use PODS with these new LG washing machines!" He even showed me a video on his phone of another recent LG customer with the same problem - the problem, LG decided to place an air vent in the back of the washing machine, unclear why, and he said this is not KNOWN by Trail sales staff or many people, not even LG employees, but basically if anyone uses PODS (i used them half of the time, liquid the other half), he said environmentally friendly detergent and PODS ruin machines, especially new LG's and unless I'm willing to run the wash cycle another 1-2 times after EVERY load OR regularly run wash cycle with vinegar in the machine, then i will consistently have water ooze out the back of the machine, but if i just used Tide normal liquid detergent than I can use the machine however I wish. I would NOT have purchased this set if I knew this machine could not handle pods, nor does it wash well, which is UNREAL because the normal wash setting runs for 2 hours. We visited this trail appliance twice before we settled on a new washer. Now the salesman both times did their best to find us a nice model that we eventually settled on. We were happy, but my only problem was that after spending so much money they still had to sneak in all their little extras by and tell us we needed their hoses to hookup the washer. Yet they knew the whole time Samsung provided the hoses free inside their model. Pretty disappointed that they try to nickle and dime their customers on extra items that they are aware about. If you end up buying from trail make sure you ask to see the model before it's delivered and check to see what comes with it, or you will be paying for extra parts that you don't need. read more

As an interior design, I've attempted to help clients purchase appliances from Trail a few times but ended up purchasing from elsewhere because the price point was friendly, but this experience was for personal use. I went in a few weeks ago to ask about a specific part to go along with an appliance. A sales representative inquired about the part and emailed me back saying this part exists. A month later, we purchased the appliance through another retailer because we had a credit that we wanted to use before it expires, also because the appliance was $100 more expensive at Trail. I contacted the sales representative to purchase the part from him directly since he was so helpful in helping us WITH THE PART but he said because I didn't purchase the appliance from him, he can't help me anymore "because they work on commission". I then asked who else can help me and he said go to whoever you bought the appliance from. I asked for him to transfer me to the parts department and he said he can't do that also, said I had to hang up and call back. Disgusting. We bought a Whirlpool fridge this week from the 6880-11St CALGARY SE store and when we plugged it in the motor was very loud. Not something you want in your kitchen! We called them the next day asking if they could fix it and they had someone come look at it who thought it "might be normal." We wanted to return it but they would only take it back at 60% of what we paid for it!!! We couldn't believe this since we called the very next day after delivery. Trail appliances clearly does not stand behind the products they sell. I haven't heard of it in the store not taking back product the same week you buy it in the last 10 years. They've got a great selection from LG to Samsung to Kitchen Aid and Wolf. There were a few stumbles here and there, but after all was said and done, it was done. Can't recommend them. My Electrolux dryer has been making horrible noise and shaking my whole house. Their technician came and told me it was normal. It's still horrendously loud - it wasn't for the first few months of ownership - and am trying to get them back here. I've phoned them six times now and they keep telling me someone will call to set up a service call. Horrendous customer service as it's now been a week of my washer leaking. I purchased a washer/dryer combination and got an extended warranty, and had a problem with my washer, which was repaired. Then the same problem again. Called and there is a long process where Trail's service comes out, ( which you pay for ) and then they send the request for the parts. Now the service company has decided that it is too expensive to repair ( truly what is the point of extended warranty ? ) and offered to pay me me $ 584.29, plus the cost of the service call from Trail. To replace this machine is $1150.00 and I am sure that there are other costs including tax and delivery, taking the old one away etc. What is the point of an extended warranty if they can just say no, and give you half the cost of the machine. read more

Trail Appliance did nothing except waste time (over 10 days) only to be told by a 3rd party that I would have to pay $159.99 for service as oppose to the $90 that Trail was going to charge. Terrible service, do not purchase from Trail Appliances. We purchased a range hood from Trail because of their relationship with our also terrible property management company (another review for another time) and we have been waiting for the installation with the technician for OVER THREE WEEKS. The whole process has been VERY slow. The first time the technician was supposed to come in the morning, but then he was delayed and told us he'll be here at 6PM. We had to cancel our plans and wait at home for the technician at 6, then guess what - he couldn't make it at 6 either, and said he would come another time. We wasted hours of our time waiting, and he couldn't even show up. Trail also did not try to send another technician, which is infuriating. We have complained to Trail about such unprofessionalism and simply received an apology, no actual effort to try to find a solution. We had to arrange another time for the technician to come - and it ended up being two to three weeks after the initial attempt. Again, for whatever reason Trail did not send another technician. The delay was very unacceptable. Everyone at the household is busy during weekdays and technician could not confirm what time he will arrive at our unit for the installation until the day of the installation - I guess Trail expects its customers to wait at home twiddling their thumbs all day to wait for their technician to show up. Overall very terrible experience with their customer service, their inflexibility, and the speed at which they do things. They do not have customer service in mind and only operates what's best for them. I am very disappointed with the service here and strong advise against coming here. read more

Our office needed a dishwasher ASAP and I used the online chat at the Richmond store. The sales person went over and above to make sure we got the right unit for our office and he was able to get us an installer quickly too. We looked at other competitors but no one could match the price efficient service we got from Trail Appliances.We bought a Bosch dishwasher and so far so good - we like the delayed wash timer so that it turns on after everyone leaves work for the day. read more

Terrible and misleading company. They will come off as friendly and understanding, but that's all just to lure you into buying from them. I had gone to Trail on two separate occasions. The first time we were looking for new dishwasher/washer/dryer. We were met with a sales rep, Vj, who came off seeming like he wants to be your friend. We discussed how we had old appliances that we needed to replace and he confirmed on multiple occasions that Trail does full service and upon delivery of our purchase will HAUL AWAY THE OLD APPLIANCES. We took a couple days to think about it and returned a second time and even WAITED for him so we could give him our business. He remembered us and we again had a discussion about replacing our 3 old appliances. He again confirmed that Trail does full service and will haul away the old appliances when delivering the new ones. Guess what. They didn't. Trail delivered the new appliance and then stated that it was "not in the order" to remove old appliances and that it would cost extra for each piece. Contacting Vj he says, "I don't remember that conversation." You've lost my business and I will advise all family and friends to avoid Trail. My husband Nelson and I were out shopping in the Richmond area for new cupboard doors. We were driving past Trail Appliances and I said jokingly that we needed a new fridge. We usually deal with a different branch but we decided to take a look at the Richmond one as we were there. Walked in and Peter, the rep on the floor approached us. We told him what we were looking for and within 15 minutes had our fridge ordered and everything done. He was positively superb. His knowledge of fridges was excellent and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thank you Peter - looking forward to getting our new fridge on Wednesday. I thoroughly recommend this place. Terrible store! Worst shopping experience ever! We first had to wait for four months after we made full payment for our gas range to arrive! Ok, fine, we understood everything slows down during Covid-19. But after four months wait, Trail Appliance delivered us a broken gas range! The machine makes a weird sound and our certified gas technician said the machine was broken and the store should be responsible for it. We told the sales person immediately and showed him video proof. Sales person said someone will contact us to fix it. But it has been two weeks and we heard no word back! Very poor experience. The sales staff (Paul Wang) was very informative and helpful up until the point of sale. Post sale, they had to do a price adjustment on my order. 3 weeks after they said that they had done the adjustment, it still has not gone through. I have talked to 4 different people (Jessica Xu, Paul Wang, Richard Hsu and Ashley) on the phone and over email; sent various emails and left various messages without getting any response back. On one occasion, one of the employees said he would get back to me and never did. Still waiting to hear back from the Manager that I just got a hold of. Still have not received this price adjustment. I will need to purchase a washer and dryer soon and I will not be going back to Trail Appliance based on my current experience. read more

The Salesperson David Vogelaar from Trail Appliances Branch 14 Richmond store sold me a Whirlpool WHT Stacker made a false statement on my Customer copy invoice saying "Confirm drain hose length and connection location prior to delivery." I remind David couples time that I need a drain hose extension, he keeps saying I don't need it. It ending up when the delivery guys told me I need the drain hose extension in order finish the installation. Then I left a voice message to David Vogelaar in his private voice mailbox and sent him the email , but I never get reply from him. And now, this is my 3rd week I am not able to use the new laundry that I had paid for; contact with onlinecc@trailappliances.com, they never reply my email, sent email to customer care department as well, no one reply my email. I am already stressed out and keep begging them by called different department to find a help but still no hope. As a loyal customer, I am just request a service I had paid for. Then Melissa Akins, one of the staff working in the Richmond store office, she step up and try to offer me a help, she is very nice and always try her best to get the tech team to finish the installation for me including order the parts I need. Unfortunately, according to her words reply to me recently, the tech team never get back to her since Wednesday July 25, 2018 no matter how many time she try. I trust Melissa Akins did her best try to reach out the tech team, but isn't it ridiculous for a tech team takes few days or up to few weeks to reply an internal staff inquiry for the next available appointment? I've had issues throughout my entire purchase when I purchsed the washer, it was with this old guy and he was great, all done, good discount. Then a week later, i came back to buy a fridge adn a younger genetlement helped me out. He said i can pay a extra 60 dollars and they will swap out the wire racks for glass. Ok, sounds good. Then when they called to confirm delivery, they quoted a lower end model w/ glass racks. I was not impressed. The lower end model is cheaper, and yet I got charged a extra 60 dollars on top of the higher end model price for a swap? I immediately called the sales rep to complain. He dodged my calls for a few days and the best he can do is to price match the competitors price (sears) for the lower end model i wanted glass shelves now since I've been researching them, so I had no choice at this point due to the limit I had on fridge height due to cabinets. I purchased mid August, delivery was pushed back to Mid Sept... I was not amused No further discounts were given for the swapping error ...(I was initially able to bargain a extra 50 off the sale price on the original model I wanted but w/ wire shelving....) I should've just gotten the fridge @ Sears... maybe then I wouldn't have the following warranty issue Reps promise saturdays are a serviceable day when I purchased the 300 dollar warranty but when it came time to service.... I was told they were doing me a favor coming on saturday the repair man/technician called day of appointment and there was no choice on booking time. Made a big fuss about how it was his day off and he was doing me a favor to service on a saturday and was quite rude on the whole affair, saying he expected customers to wait the whole day for him and that the 2 hr window was a courtesy. (except the fact the 2 hr window was given day of...) I don't know about others, but I was told they serviced on Saturday, when I booked it w/ their Annis Island service call centre I was told he worked saturday. I just felt being told off for wanting him to try to come an hr later from the quoted window, and to accommodate a little on the booking time (esp since he didn't call the night before that I was told he was suppose to to confirm 2 hr window) read more
