Along with a security device, cameras,GPS pretty much the work's. They nodded and said they could do it all. They said they would only put in one kind of car stereo. (That should have been a red flag there) Alas I said that would be fine. I brought the car for the scheduled date. They knew I had planed to have more work done if they the car stereo job went well. When I went to pick up my car, the speakers sounded awful, which they said it was just the area and nothing else. (I later found out that I had a blown speaker which they checked however did not tell me about nor offer to Update along with the stereo) Great business sense on there part. Also when asking them the Basic's about my new stereo they did not have a clue about any of it. Even though this is one they supposedly only ever use in these cars.... One member of the staff was kind during my time there... The other one was extremely rude and argumentative. The last one did not have a Canadian penny's worse of sense. If your thinking of going here don't. Just put the stereo in yourself and burn 12,00. In cash on a cook out. You'll have more fun and the stereo will sound just as good...

Anyways, they weren't able to do the task I had asked and ended up charging me an excessive amount for work they couldn't even. do. If you are not capable of doing something, tell me upfront. I just ended up wasting my money and my time. On top of that, they are also arrogant, patronizing, unethical, and unreliable. They were very rude to my family and acted as if what we were acting was absurd. They could use some work in terms of skills and in terms of customer service.

A sign on the door states "We are temporarily closed". Sorry for the inconvenience". I live 3 hours north so they're not around the corner. I can't be the only slighted customer.

The receiver had a couple of display lights that were out and I wanted to have the unit tuned up. I live in MA but have a place in Maine that is about 30 mins. from Portland so I took it there. I paid the diagnostic fee of $120 at the time I dropped it off and was told it'd be a few weeks which I was fine with. The few weeks had come and gone and I hadn't heard back, so I called and was told it hadn't been looked at yet, not a big deal. Not ready in November, not ready in December, not ready in January . . . every time I called it was like I was an annoyance to them. FINALLY "months" later I called and it was at last ready to be picked up. I got the unit back home, plugged it in and the display lights were STILL out. Are you kidding me ?!?! So I had to bring it back "again" after all that time. Not only that, but at the same time I had realized that they charged me full price for the repair, not taking into account the $120 fee that I had paid up front. Took it back for a second time for repair, this time when I got it home the display lights worked and I was also credited the additional $120 dollars that I was charged in error. Fast forward a month or so after I got it back. Display lights stopped working AGAIN (WTF??). I can tap the glass and make them come back on sometimes but its obvious that the job wasn't performed correctly. I won't be taking it back for a 3rd round, sorry guys. I hear that they're nice people and all but I got the impression that they didn't care that much about my receiver (not high end enough probably) and that they don't care that much about the service end of their business unless its really big bucks for them. Every single time I turn on my receiver and the lights go out it makes me cringe. That's why I'm writing the review now sadly.

I stopped by this shop on the way home from work to get a quote for some 4 gauge power wire. I need…read more20 feet of power wire and 20 feet of ground wire for a stereo system install on a boat. They quoted me $11.20 a foot which would come out to $448 before taxes. I had an assumption that the price they quoted me was very high and chose to do some more research at home before I went back. When I got home, my jaw hit the floor. I found the retail price for a 100 foot roll of 4 gauge Stinger power wire was only $129.99 (the same brand that they carried). That is the retail price, not a wholesale/dealer price that they are getting it for. After some calculating, I discovered their mark-up on the wire is more than 870%. If they are marking up their wire 870%, I can only imagine what else they are marking up that high. Just for kicks, I called a well known shop on the West Coast named Car Toys. I asked them about the wire that Xtreme Audio was carrying (Stinger). They informed me that Stinger Audio power wire is the bottom of the barrel, and they previously used to use Stinger wire until they had customers coming back and found that the wire was corroding within the jacket. They told me that I needed to find somebody who carried Kicker or NVX wire. I asked them how much their Kicker wire was and I was informed that the very high end wire is only $2.99 a foot or $269.95 for 100 foot. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO XTREME AUDIO (Ripoff Audio) because they are marking up low grade power wire over 870% and will be referring everybody I know to go elsewhere.

Don't bother going here for any service.
