They explained both options--cleaning the terminal or doing the more complete repair--and I chose to address it properly and replace the amp. Fortunately, they had the exact replacement in stock. The lead tech took the time to check the grounding connection and answer my questions without brushing me off. They also had me test the system before leaving, which I appreciated. Spending more than planned sucked, but fixing the actual problem was the right decision. Glad they had the amp on hand and took the time to explain what was going on.

All the inexplicable & hacky 2010-vintage aftermarket wiring got removed & all the proper wires got the proper connectors reinstalled. After checking the aftermarket amplifier, he connected the classic radio's amplifier to get excellent 4-speaker sound. His attention to detail was superb... he wasn't going to let any nuisance noise into the installation! While I was in the shop, I saw (and heard!) his crew working on full installations in newer cars. They were taking great care with all aspects -- and it was all loud & clear! There aren't a lot of good autosound shops around anymore. Capital Car Audio will be my go-to!
