They allowed me to return it at the end of the day on Monday even though my wedding was on Saturday. They were very easy to deal with & responded a lot quicker than the other places I had contacted. They also had everything available last minute where a lot of other places didn't.

Disappointing experience despite a fresh and new business relationship. We have used this catering…read morecompany for multiple corporate events and have spent considerable money with them. Historically, the food and service have been very good, which makes our experience with our most recent BBQ event particularly disappointing. The weather was questionable the morning of the event, so we understood the decision to precook the burgers and brats. However, the weather ultimately cooperated, and the event proceeded as planned. We specifically requested that we use at least one large gas grill we provided, even if only to keep the grill/char lines going, but that did not happen. The catering team arrived on time, but the setup was not completed as expected. Two chefs who had originally been scheduled to be onsite to cook the food ultimately spent much of the event standing around with very little involvement. More importantly, the food was served lukewarm to cold even though it arrived in hotboxes, and some food was undercooked/raw. The sternos were not lit until well after the food had been set up and less than 10 minutes before mealtime, which did little to address the temperature problem. For the price we paid, the quality of service and temperature of the food were simply not acceptable. I immediately raised my concerns with the event planner after the event. When I didn't receive a follow-up, I emailed to express our disappointment. To the event planner's credit, she responded and said the owner wanted to address the matter personally and would contact me after returning from out of town. That was over a month ago, and we have still received no communication. A coworker who also helps coordinate our company events separately contacted her point of contact at the company, but also received no response. What is most disappointing is not simply that one event did not meet expectations. We have been a significant repeat customer, and we expected our concerns to be acknowledged and addressed professionally. Instead, we received no follow-up at all. We have had good experiences with this caterer in the past, which is why this situation has been frustrating. Unfortunately, the combination of cold food, a lack of attention during the event, and zero follow-up afterward has made us decide to seek catering elsewhere for our corporate events.

It's through him that I heard of the Central Street Busker Festival that took place the next day and his line was loooong! Most recently, we went to his show last week that the Mt. Prospect Public Library held for spring break. That was very very well attended, with a long line of folks waiting to get in (and that's with all of us registered to attend!), but the show was a lot of fun. He did a little magic, a little comedy, and some fun balloon tricks. This guy has been doing this all his adult life--unless that's also a joke and part of his act--but regardless, he's great at his job. I'm looking forward to seeing him again and my little one having the chance to pick her balloon creation on her own.

It was just the two of us so we were able to do each game repeatedly, which made it even more fun because it allowed us to figure out how to solve the puzzles. The day before the event, the owner calls to inform me that the performer that was supposed to come is sick and they have replacement. The replacement may not be able to perform what we have had requested but that's the best they can do on short time. After heated conversation with the owner (which he was very rude over the phone, I still can't believe they are in service providing industry with this kind of attitude), we mutually agreed that it would be best just to cancel the service. Now comes the worst part, I had already put down $75.00 deposit which I was promised that I will get back. No brainer, right? I guess not, after repeated inquires and promises I have yet to receive the deposit back. Now they are not answering my repeated request for return deposit and its been three weeks. If I had time, I would take them to small claim court to get the deposit back but rather I am working with my Credit Card company to recover the deposit. I had hired them to relieve the stress of providing the entertainment to the children at birthday party but ended up causing more stress. Even if they provide the service for FREE, I would suggest not to hire them. You are better off spending that money buying gifts/toys for your guests. Very disappointed.

I just attended the 1920's Murder Mystery Martini Party this past weekend with a few of my friends…read moreand my boyfriend, and we had a BLAST! First, I want to say thank you to TopAct for helping me get 3 additional tickets so I could bring my friends along, I reached out to Oliver after seeing the event was sold out, and he was able to open the ticket sale back up for me so I could grab the additional tickets!! We were absolutely ecstatic!! The planning process is very well put together! We got our character sheets over a week in advance, which made it easy to start planning our outfits and get in character. Along with the character sheet was an overview of the murder as well as a list of suspects. I was very impressed by the detail that TopAct went into for the characters and event! You don't just get a name with a few clues, you get a whole page of information about your character that really helps you give the character depth, and you don't have to create a whole backstory yourself. Walking into the event, I was immediately impressed! The Martini Room was a great venue, and the decorations they placed (along with the dead body) really helped it feel 'on theme'. I could go on about how fun the event was, but I'll keep it relatively brief. The planning was fantastic, the TopAct reps guided us all through the evening and ensured we were mingling, talking, and looking for clues. I played one of the suspects, and it was probably the most fun to be one so if you have the chance, I recommend it :) They wrapped up the evening very well, and the murder was not incredibly easy to solve - which was great! It made you think, and not everyone was able to get the right answer in the end so it wasn't something you could solve in 10 minutes. Overall, a massive 5 stars to TopAct - I highly recommend!!!

My husband and I attended our first murder mystery dinner…read morelast night at a very cool speakeasy in Evanston. It did not disappoint, so much fun! We were given instructions/character sketches prior to the event so that we were ready to assume our characters as soon as we arrived. Most of the guests had wonderful 1920's attire on and were really involved in interacting with one another. The more people played their part, the more fun it became. The storyline was interesting to follow (and be a part of) as we worked to solve the mystery. Would definitely recommend for a fun night out as a date or with a group of friends.
