Smarty Pants is the way to go baby! He came by for our sons 1st birthday party and followed a magician and everyone loved his creations! I believe he was there for an hour or so. As seen by his creations, he was a hit by both adults and kids alike! I hope we may utilize his services again! We can't speak highly enough of SP!! read more

What a fun performer. I came across him at the Park Ridge Kiwanis annual pancake breakfast, where he was doing some entertaining mostly for the kids but definitely for the adults as well. It's through him that I heard of the Central Street Busker Festival that took place the next day and his line was loooong! Most recently, we went to his show last week that the Mt. Prospect Public Library held for spring break. That was very very well attended, with a long line of folks waiting to get in (and that's with all of us registered to attend!), but the show was a lot of fun. He did a little magic, a little comedy, and some fun balloon tricks. This guy has been doing this all his adult life--unless that's also a joke and part of his act--but regardless, he's great at his job. I'm looking forward to seeing him again and my little one having the chance to pick her balloon creation on her own. read more

Smarty Pants was fantastic at our recent event AND each and every time I've seen him perform over the years - which is many times (because many people see how amazing he is)!! It's not just his talent with super fun and surprising balloon characters but his adaptive nature and outstanding personality, engaging everyone at the parties/events. I would absolutely recommend him for all types of occasions : private or big birthday parties, festivals, block parties, - anywhere there will be children!! He is one less thing at your party you need to worry about because he is a sure thing! Truly, he is a whole family favorite!! read more

Smartypants is amazing and so funny! He performed the most fun and entertaining balloon show for our son's 8th birthday party and customized his amazing balloon creations and the show to fit the Star Wars theme for the party. He was so great with interacting with 16 kids at one time and created amazing and unique works of balloon art for each child to take home. We had lots of laughs and smiles all around. He is super friendly, punctual and talented! Highly recommmend!!! read more

We had smarty pants over for our daughter's 4th birthday party. He was such a hit both for the kids and parents. Best family entertainer in the Midwest! Amazing balloon sculptures, and somehow he put himself inside of a really large balloon. Highly recommended! read more

I booked Smarty Pants sight unseen for my child's 4yo birthday party, and it was the best choice. I booked the party at a restaurant whose sound system was inaccessible, but Smarty Pants took care of the vibes with his speaker and playlist. Once the show started, the kids were rapt and seated in his audience while the rest of us adults could watch and eat and mingle from the back. After the show was over, the kids queued up patiently to get a balloon. After receiving their balloons, they ran around playing with their balloons. These steps are all important because it adds up to Smarty Pants being the focal point of the fun for 60 people for 1.5 hours--no small feat. As the host, I was able to fully enjoy myself. A bonus was that numerous of my adult friends knew about him from performing elsewhere throughout Chicago. He's a Chicago treasure. read more

Best magic and Balloon show ! It's the second time we invite him and it's even better!

Found this extremely sexist! I was really disappointed with this balloon artist. He clearly played favorites: when men came up, he spent lots of time making elaborate, detailed balloon designs. But for women, he rushed through and only made basic "girly" things like flowers or bees, even when we didn't ask for them. He kept saying he didn't have enough time, yet somehow had plenty for the guys who were behind us in the line. It felt unfair and honestly uncomfortable to watch. Definitely not an artist I'd recommend. read more

The most talented balloon artist! Everything was stress free. Highly recommend. Will definitely have him back!

Smarty pants deserves 10 stars but Yelp is stingy so 5 will do. Hired him for my son's birthday party and he was a hit. First of all I must say that the booking process was so easy. I emailed, he responded, I paid, he showed up! Bam! I appreciated that he followed up with me prior to the party. Everything was stressful so it was a breath of fresh air having one less thing to follow up on. Anyway, I was amazed at how creative he was. Everything was so elaborate. There were rocket ships, hammers, hulk ballons, wands, fairy wings, bunny ears, fabulous headbands and so much more. He was so engaging with the kiddos and just so efficient. I have been at birthday parties where I struggled to know what the creations were and Smarty pants was on the other end of the spectrum. And to be honest the adults were more amazed at everything than the kiddos were. He will definitely be at my next child's party and you should hire him for yours. read more

Smarty Pants was fantastic. Easy to schedule with, and responds to email questions quickly. We hired him for my son's 6th birthday party, and the balloon creations are far beyond what I've seen others do. He basically can create anything that the kids think up, on the spot. The kids were entertained, and the adults were impressed with all of the amazing balloon creations. Will definitively work with him again! read more

3 weeks later and my son still remembers Mr Smarty Pants and that's how memorable he made our son's 3rd birthday party. Not only were the kids entertained but our adult guests came up to me to say how great Smarty Pants was. He arrived early to set up and was extremely professional and so smooth in his interaction with the kids. Incredibly talented with the balloon twisting. My son got a fireman hat, fire truck with a ladder, airplane (with a pilot!!), and a ball. Other kids got a dinosaur, sword, butterfly wings, soccer headband, monkey, etc. All that was needed was a small corner and he was able to produce so many creative cool items. I'm so glad we were able to have Smarty Pants at our party and I hope we have another opportunity to engage him again. read more

Smarty Pants was a hit at our daughter's 5 year old birthday party! All the kids loved him and absolutely loved their balloon creations including our daughter who took one of her balloon creations to school the day after her party for show and tell. Smarty pants was on time, funny, entertaining, kind and gracious. He was patient with the kids and after his main show he took time with each child individually to create with his magical balloon sculpting skills exactly what they asked for. All the other parents in attendance raved about the show. My wife and I highly recommend him for your child's party! read more

I randomly found smarty pants on Facebook, and after doing my background research and reading reviews I just knew working with him would be a huge hit for my daughters second birthday, baby shark theme. Communication was awesome, and smarty pants was able to bring my baby shark balloon theme to life. I really wish we took more pictures, but my daughter and her friends absolutely loved all the creative balloons. I mean there were about 75 balloons. So colorful, and perfect for my daughters friends who aged between 3-7. Smarty pants is so incredibly talented and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you so much. read more

Smarty Pants is the best I've seen in the business so far! I found him through a family members party years ago and said I would get him for my child's first birthday and I did! Everyone was so impressed by him and kept asking for his info at our daughter's party. I even saw one kid in line and he didn't know what he wanted to ask for and Smarty saw his Tshirt that had Transformers on it and he worked an idea for the kid off of that! He made him an upper-body Bumblebee transformer outfit! He is also personally very prompt when you contact him for anything! Can't recommend this guy enough! Thank you Smarty Pants for making our party memorable! We will definitely be working with you again in the future! read more

We had Smarty Pants come in for our son's bday party and it was amazing! They captivated a group of 3-7yr olds for the entirety of the 45 minutes showtime. The show is magic, comedy, and balloons all rolled up into one that had the kids giggling, gawking, and laughing all the way through. Our son also had so much fun being on stage as the "helper"- the smiles on his face were priceless. All the "take home" balloons we got from some of the props used were icing on the cake. Smarty Pants and Miss Dena were the hit of our 4 year old's birthday party! They were great with the kids and the balloons amazed all ages! Face (and arm) painting was awesome. I was so busy running around during the party and Smarty entertained the ~20 kids easily. They were entranced by the balloon making and then had fun playing with their balloons. I was feeding everyone lunch when Smarty and Miss Dena headed out. I didn't get to gush to them in person so I'm glad to do it on Yelp! I can't wait until the kids are older to get the Big Magic Show!! Looking forward to seeing Smarty again soon! read more
