I've used these guys twice now. Once for old GE refrigerator and once for an LG Combo Washer / Dryer. The latter unit they know like the back of their hand, which apparently not may repair companies do. Repairs were done well and at reasonable cost. Personnel are courteous and professional. It makes me sad to write this review, but I need to warn others. Junior was great when he showed up. However, the last time he came he addressed a broken tray in our freezer, said he'd order the part and come back to finish that and replace our undercounter water filter. That was around May. My husband paid him because I told him we could trust Junior. It's now September and the freezer tray is still in our oven and our water filter is a year old. I try not to give bad feedback unless completely deserved! We rent out an apartment in Manhattan and needed a service to fix a leaking refrigerator. We called Trades Mechanical. Our first contact (Uvalin) was great and they explained their policies and were very eager to help us. I was really impressed. Then we started calling from a cell phone to make an appointment and could never get through. Finally we managed to talk to someone using a land-line and they said they did nor answer numbers that have no ID!!! Junior gave us his cell number and said he would help us, but rarely got back to us and often did not answer. Finally after many calls (and several days of leaking) the appointment was made to have Oscar come to fix the refrigerator. He never showed up! No calls, no warnings. I called to find out what excuses they had. Left several messages. They still have not called back to explain! Need I say more? Do you really want to deal with this company? read more

Called these guys based on yelp reviews around 5pm on a friday about a broken dryer. They said they would squeeze me in and showed up around 8 diagnosed the problem in 15 min quoted me a fair price, said they needed a part and could be back the next day to fix it. unfortunately i was going away for the weekend so they were able to come first thing tuesday when i returned. texted me when they were on the way and did the work quickly. even cleaned up the floor after they finished! nice guys. great service. even gave a warranty for there service. will definitely be using these guys for my next repair! read more

These guys are a scam. They'll tell you things are wrong when they're not and then charge you hilarious amounts of money to fix. $140 charge to fix nothing wrong on my side - 10 minutes of "work" (ha!) for $140. After multiple efforts to schedule with 2 ignored calls and 3 ignored text messages, I had a visit from Junior, the Trades Mechanical repairman, who came to fix my Bosch dishwasher last week. There actually anything wrong with my dishwasher before my renovations, nor was there anything actually wrong after... except that a small switch had got out of place when the machine was moved during my renovations. Junior initially said that the pump was broken and that I'd have to pay $260 to fix it. As soon as I said maybe I didn't want to do that and would consider buying a new DW instead, *suddenly* he realized it was just this little switch that needed to be moved. Literally, it took the flick of a finger to fix it. He "fixed" it in less than 10 seconds when he realized I wasn't buying the new pump diagnosis. Then he took two tiny little screws and, in another 5 minutes, had re-anchored my dishwasher. So a total repair time of 6 minutes plus about 5 minutes to run the washer at the beginning and at the end. 10 minutes of "work" = ... wait for it... an additional $80 charge on top of the $60 repair for a total of $140. When I pointed out that this was unbelievable, he said that Sears or Bosch would have charged me more. I can't compare, so is that really the right comparison? When I reminded him that he had said the "repair" cost would get netted against the $60, he just kept repeating $140 over and over. Then he said I was lucky I didn't get charged for a late night fee. Except that HE was almost an hour late arriving at 9p and not 8p! AND I had given him a morning option, which he refused. Do not use these guys. Totally dishonest. Never again. read more

I live in Texas and contracted Trades Mechanical to repair my tenant's refrigerator in Brooklyn. Initially, Junior handled the job professionally and with no problems, and I was very pleased. About two months later, the refrigerator problem returned and I asked Junior if he could take a look at it again. Here's where the problems began. My tenant and I had a very difficult time contacting Junior as he began ignoring our text and voicemail messages. My tenant wasted an entire day waiting for "his guys" to show up, and when they did arrive, the work they did proved to be a patch job since just last week the problem arose again -- only this time, Junior decided to blow me and my tenant off completely. His final message to me was this: "We will look into it immediately," and then I never heard from him again. read more

This guy Junior is great! Possible diagnoses he gave me a possible diagnosis over the phone and then came prepared with the parts to replace if he was correct. Sure enough he was and 30 minutes later he left with my refrigerator running beautifully. Plus he's a super polite and friendly man who also fixes other appliances except for microwaves he said. I contacted Trades Mechanical Services and explained that my fridge wasn't cooling. He told me to call him when I was home and that he would help me troubleshoot it thru the phone before he came to my house!! Wow!! Who does this? (Most technicians would instantly see money here) I cleaned the bottom of my fridge (the compressor area) as he suggested, hooked it up and within an hour my fridge was up and running and cooling again. I didn't expect to get a response but to my surprise I did!! Not only did junior text me through the problem he also called me to see if I needed any more help. Juniors was a great find! First let me start by noting that it was a Sunday when I called TM appliance repair!, Junior came on a Sunday night and diagnosed the problem on my GE refrigerator. The heating system was broken. I need a new part, however all the shops were closed. First thing Monday morning, he came with a new heater and installed it in minutes. I spoke with junior on the phone and he took the time to give me instructions over the phone to be able to inspect the dishwasher myself to make sure it actually needed repairs. My experience was great, the opposite of what you usually expect with appliance repairs. Dishwasher broke Saturday morning, and two repairman arrived by Saturday afternoon (I live on the UWS). That's compared to P.C. Richards, who couldn't send someone out until the following Thursday. They were able to get everything done in a few hours, except for a missing part, which had to be tracked down on a weekday, but it was easy to schedule a different time during the week for them to come and finish the job. Dishwasher is working fine now, and they have a 90 day warranty on the service. I found them to be friendly and efficient, at a reasonable price. I also don't know of any other repair guys who would come out so quickly. Definitely recommend! read more

we just moved into a new apartment and i was so excited about my bosch dishwasher. i first used it on thanksgiving and noticed something was a little off -- length of cycle didn't match the countdown, dishes didn't seem quite clean, etc. i ran the washer again and realized that the water in the cycle wasn't hot -- lukewarm, maybe. i called TM and described my problem -- the guy (i'm so sorry i forgot your name!!) diagnosed the problem immediately, quoted me, and confirmed that i wanted the work to be done. times didn't work out for saturday, so i suggested monday -- he said he could come in on sunday. i was thrilled. i received a call that he was running late and he showed up, fixed the problem in 30 minutes (less, i think) and the dishwasher works! i understand people complaining about tardiness, but some things are out of our control. and the work that was done was great, for a reasonable price. i hope i won't need to call TM again, but if something breaks, they're my go-to. read more

Alright, so, we have a pretty-new Frigidaire dishwasher that was in our apartment when we moved in. A while back, it just...stopped turning on. No lights, no nothing. I started calling around, checked out the recommendations of our super and a few neighbors, and ended up talking with Junior from Trades Mechanical. He gave me a better quote than most of the other places that I had called, and was able to come out the same day. We had a problem with a Bosch ventless dryer where a pump burned out and needed to be replaced. The technician was professional, explained the issue clearly and actually showed up with the part he needed to fix the dryer. I was impressed as it usually takes 2 or 3 weeks to order the part and get a new appointment scheduled. One thing to note, try and schedule in the morning and they will be on time.
