My friends and girlfriend were super fond of this store. My girlfriend called it the no frills of America but everything organic. They went from aisle to aisle clearing shelves and grabbing things they don't need because Canada didn't have it. But since my girlfriend was already buying a shit ton of stuff, I was the kid who threw random stuff into the cart for myself and hoping she didn't notice. She did but didn't care. My problem isn't with the Chesterbrook Trader Joe's per se, it is with their "home office". They drop items faster than you would drop a hot knife. Over the years, I've loved their Curried Tuna, in pouches, about a buck sixty-nine, in red, yellow and green curries. Add some rice, a splash of coconut milk and fresh cilantro leaves and you have a marvelous casserole. I bought it, the rice and the coconut milk by the bagfuls. How did Trader Joe's reward my fidelity? THEY DISCONTINUED IT...saying it wasn't "cost-effective" to the consumer. WHA?? Over the years, I bought their Greek-style spinach pie with feta cheese. It was a very popular item. Then, one day, they replaced that item with a Trader Joe's pie...spinach and kale with feta. That new pie tasted like grass that had just been cut by a mower. Yuuuck. Their explanation? They wanted a Trader Joe's product so they discontinued the one that was better but wasn't made by Trader Joe's. The list goes, sadly, on and on. Buy a product at Trader Joe's, like the product, buy even more of the product and, yet..."home office" drops that item for no apparent reason...time after time after time. I have to admit: I go to Traders a lot less these days because you can never depend on a product you've supported and bought in abundance actually being there. The people at the customer service desk see me coming and hide because they have run out of explanations as to why seemingly popular items are dropped. So, Trader Joe's...you're running customers off because of the abrupt changes with the availability of products in your stores. C ya... read more

I want to thank the manager and staff member for their kindness and concern for me during my recent trip to their store. I was shopping there around 11:00 am (with a cart full of food which I left there) and developed a migraine. It was very bad. A staff member saw me struggling and she offered me a bottle water and a seat near the customer service counter. While sitting there, a manager came up to me, spoke to me and offered to call someone to pick me up. At that time I felt a bit better and thanked him for his assistance. I left the store a had to run one errand (at another store is the shopping center). When I was walking past the store again he just happened to come outside and saw me and asked me again if I was able to drive and offered to call someone for me. This specific location is neat, organized and friendly. I love the selection here and I really like the fact that they try to not give out bags (though I like bags for my dog's poop). My new found love here is the pizza dough. They have a garlic herb flavor and if you roll it out really thin, throw your toppings on and place it on the grill you get an amazing dinner! Did I mention the dough is only 99 cents! I also enjoy their vegan selection, though I am not vegan but I have a friend who is. The minus one star would be because the produce selection could be a bit better and have more. Parking is plentiful and the cashiers are those fun loving earthy hippies! read more

Decent place, but I don't like places I cant do ALL my shopping in. produce is good. They have a nice selection of cheese. If you're looking for good dips and snacks, this is a place to go. I just got off the phone with their customer service in the Wayne location and was sort of taken aback by the response I received . I purchased a fruit bumble pie and was especially surprised that it was hard as I cut thru it - it was frozen!!! My response from customer service call wasn't apologetic at all - response I received was that they come in that way!!! And I could return it if unhappy . Do be careful if you purchase a pastry product and expect to eat it soon thereafter---- it may just be frozen!!! Surprise!!!!! read more

TJ's on Swedesford is a good store, it's small compared to the one's I experienced in L.A., but it came with the usual great foods, and drinks that I know and love. What a bummer though - In Cali they always had racks and rows of great wines that were perfect for dinner - but PA's stupid alocohol prohibit this. TJ's - please start a petition and I will help gather signatures so everyone in Philly and K of P areas can get Chuck Shaw and his accompanying characters that grace many a TJ store. TJ- Swedesford is always clean and pretty well stocked, so thanks to the team there for working hard, and smiling all the time. read more

Fantastic variety of vegetarian choices. Natural juices and yummy ice creams.

This is okay but I do really miss the stuff they carry in their California stores. If not for Pennsylvania's retarded alcohol laws, we would have a great selection of beer and wine at great prices, and lots more stuff in the refrigerated section, like Pollo Asada, and Tri-Tip Asada: marinated meats for grilling. read more

I have been shopping at Trader Joes for more than 30 years. I used to have my sister send my order from California to NY. Finally, they made their way to the east coast. The selection and quality and price are great. You can find items there, that you can't get anywhere. Their prepared frozen dishes are delicious and the variety is international. The produce is good and fresh, they have a wide selection of cheese, the baked items are good, the frozen deserts are as good as home made, they even have fresh flowers. I wish there were more stores around here but they are so good, I make the 1 hour drive and stock up. read more

This was my favorite trader joes yet! The staff was all friendly and helpful, they even told my son about the hidden hedgehog and he thought that was super fun to search for with dad while I shopped. So many awesome things here- but I discovered a new favorite this time- Parmesan Ranch!!!! So good! Used it in a baked chicken recipe and I will never love another ranch the same!! And per usual we had to pick up some Cookie butter - can't go wrong with that! The store was super clean and everything was stocked. read more

What the heck?!? I can't review products on the website anymore? Fine, I'll put my review here. I spent about $160 at my last visit to TJ's including many prepared foods to make life easier for me and my daughter (bona fide single mom here), and that included a frozen "linguini alfredo" which showed a decadent picture of real alfredo sauce and linguini that I figured would rescue me from a jam when I really messed up on cooking. I heated it up, and it was nothing more than a watered down version of a NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY CREAMY linguini with red peppers, mushrooms and other ingredients not even shown on the package. Talk about the bait and switch - I can cook linguini in garlic pasta water with dried additives anytime I wanted to - but that would be never. So disgusted I put it all back into a plastic baggie and fully intend to pay a visit tomorrow. Gross - and you cost me a makeup dinner as well - how do I recoup from that? read more

I love this store. First off, the people who work there are knowledgeable, helpful and upbeat. I cook from scratch, and they pretty much have everything I need. Because they stock their own brand, there's not a lot of repetition, which saves a lot of time. Their products are as additive-free as possible. (As in, don't expext to find no-salt ham.) Cheese selection is epic. Fresh bakery items fantastic. Nuts and baking supplies, very good. Fresh flowers and seasonal items a bonus. I discovered this chain from their brochure, Fearless Flyer. NB. As a senior citizen with 75 years shopping and grocery bag packing experience, I am always pleased with my TJ selection experiences. Not only are the folks there knowledgeable and friendly, they are community minded as well.That's without mentioning the great choices of foodstuffs to heat and serve or make from scratch. As a 21st century certified sesquipedalian I could rant on indefinitely but, shop there for yourself and enjoy the free coffee and taste testing of something outrageously easy and lip smacking good. However, bring your own cinnamon powder for the coffee, they only have creams and sugars stuff and the 2 ounce cup is enough to wash down the tasted items usually in some worthy combo. Go to the back Left corner for the mini repaste near the baked delicacies too. read more

I've frequented this location for several years. If you want a shopping experience with SUPER friendly, helpful staff, and healthy food at below "Whole Foods" prices, this is your place. The specialty items cost a bit more sometimes, but are coupled with their affordable staples - like organic corn chips for half the cost of Fritos. They don't advertise this fact as much as they should, but their products are pretty much GMO free. One notable downside: Since their products are manufactured by select vendors, to their high standards, your favorite item may disappear or be limited to a season. As a result, long-time customers may share stories about the day their favorite snack disappeared from the shelves, and the ensuing sadness that resulted. It's hard to explain how deep the customers' relationship with this store goes. After a storm flooded this location, customers were greeted with a "closed for a month" sign on the door. From the expressions on their faces, as they shuffled back to their cars, you would have thought that Old Yeller had just died. And, on a related note, the pet store is right next door... read more
