First TJ's in the western burbs, and everyone was crazy about it for years. It carried trendy new foods and gourmet-ish showy stuff so it was the soccer mom's version of the old organic co-ops and hippie health food stores. People used to read the Joe cartoons and think it was novel, lol. Soon, alternative-type grocery stores were en vogue, and that trend lives today. Staff is professional, not smartarse like Media TJ's. They work hard, and products are thoughtfully made, with consideration for food politics, and TJ's always comes in at an attractive price. This store is always clean, organized, and promptly being stocked. It's always insanely busy and customers are selfish and pushy. I've seen stock put out and grabbed from the hands of employees, until nothing's left. People are d!cks in line, too. No courtesy to others ahead of you if a new line opens. Acme customers have better manners. But this happens at the Media and Concord TJ's stores too. In decades of TJ's experience, most TJ's customers in the Philly area are pretentious a-holes and for this reason, I go as seldom as possible. Then again, WF customers overlap and pretty much suck too. Something about alternative supermarkets brings out the worst in people (or locals are just the worst people). Gateway is a NIGHTMARE with parking pretty much all the time. The weird exit where you snake through the end of the center and wait in line for 10minutes to make any left, my God! Could they not have figured out any other way to merge with the 202 off ramp? Even a 5 points down there by the exit would make better sense. Off ramp drivers are already dangerous and stupid there, and there is NEVER any shortage of selfish local men in designer cars cutting off EVERYONE. Yes, it's normally men here... it's women on 30. The parking lot is a dumpster fire! read more

I popped in for one thing- ice cream on a 99 degree day- and left with a bagful. Their store is spacious and spread out. The three team members I interacted with were super helpful and friendly. They have a size able organized selection of 99 cent greeting cards for a variety of occasions. I picked up a couple to start. I picked up a quart of mint chocolate chip ice cream and also opted for their tres leches cake. They had a good plant selection- got a pink flowered kolanchoe for a family member I'm visiting in the area. Their organic bananas called my name on the way to the register. Way too busy. It was impossible to get around the store without someone ramming their cart into you and knocking you over. I was very overwhelmed and had to leave without buying anything. I wouldn't have been able to see what they had anyway it was too hectic. read more

I came here looking for some snacks because my husband and I are going on a road trip. I picked up just a few things because I did not want to spend too much money and this was my first time in the store since my husband and I just moved to the area last week. The employees seemed very hard-working and were kind from the conversations I heard around me. The woman at the cash register was super sweet too. Loved it! Only the second time I've ever been to one because there aren't any in my area. Which is really too bad! There needs to be more places like this close to the Harrisburg/Carlisle PA area. We shouldn't have to drive to Philly or State College to find this sort of greatness! They have so many things - you find yourself wandering around over and over again hoping you don't miss something. Cheese, bread, chocolates! OMG! I found things that I can never find elsewhere and the prices....AMAZING! Will go back - but wish it was much closer!!!! It's hard to get all the great things you really want without lugging a cooler/ice chest along....and it's not something you can really do on a regular basis when you have to go at least two hours to get there. read more

For price gouging, Trader Joe's tops the list. Increases during Covid have remained on products and they continue to increase prices 25%-30% each time. The Gateway store is dirty, crowded, narrow aisles, dead flowers, poor produce. I am now going to Walmart and Target where the prices are better, the produce is better, and the stores are cleaner. read more

Pretty standard Trader Joe's. Crowded. Can't believe one paper bag is 15 cents. Other stores it's either free, 5 cents or maybe 10 cents. I've never had to pay for a paper bag at Trader Joe's before. Idk if it depends on location or it's a new thing. read more

Great store on any day but Sunday afternoons. Not their fault about Sundays. Just SUPER busy. Fun selections of fruit, produce, cheese and many other items. Pineapple Juice, soy ice cream, frozen risotto, pancake syrup and beef are staples for me here. They take food back you don't like. Bonus. People are super helpful and friendly. The kids get to find a stuffed animal and win a Lollipop. I wish they still carried cane sugar sodas still. Cashiers quick and correct and the paper bags are awesome! We have shopped the Trader Joe's-Wayne, PA store many times over the years and enjoyed the selections. A month ago our 4 year old daughter took a bite of a Gluten Free Pancake and pulled out a hard plastic piece. We notified Trader Joe's a few times but never received a response. It is disheartening Trader Joe's does not respond to customer inquiries or concerns regardless their products, especially one where toddlers/young children may choke. Also, just heard on the radio a few days ago where they recalled another product for plastic pieces from a broken vat. Apparently there is an issue with Trader Joe's machinery. For all those that continue to shop at any Trader Joe's stores, keep a close eye on the products for any hard plastic pieces embedded in the food, especially before your children take a bite. We will seek another method of communication to Trader Joe's so they are aware of this dangerous piece of plastic in their product. read more

Something wrong with service this time. It was around 5 pm, change of shift I think. Cashier not really friendly nor person who took over in the middle of checking out. Both said really nothing. No chit chat. No how are you. Not even a hello. Funny vibe. Don't mind bagging myself but typically cashier has offered or made an effort to move things along. Very different from prior experience. I love this Trader Joe's! There is always a line outside but all the employees always have a good attitude and smile even when it is freezing outside. Everyone is friendly inside. Items are organized and they stock quickly when product is out. They also ask if they can help you with anything when you are looking around. Just an all around positive environment. read more

This is a smallish store and wow can it get crowded! But everybody who works there is friendly and helpful. And if the rest of the country was doing as much to prevent the spread of Covid 19 I'll bet there would be fewer cases. They're doing a fantastic job. Great cheese case... This place is conveniently located near King of Prussia. It's right off 202 next to the Valley Forge NPS rear entrance. So, you can pick up some water and dried fruit/GORP before your hike. There are clean bathrooms in the back as well as a sampling station. Also, there are usually small Dixie cups to sample either juice/tea or fresh brewed coffee. Rather decent layout with selection of the following: * Produce * Bakery * Meat * Frozen foods and seafood * Dairy and eggs * Cereal and dry foods * Pet food * Health and beauty products * Bottle water, juice, etc Also note that there is no alcoholic beverages here. This is a great TJs. Parking is easy, and it is a decent sized store. The staff is extra friendly and always willing to check on if they have something/when it will be coming back. Recently, their cauliflower gnocci was featured on the Today Show and now they can't keep it on the shelves! I strongly recommend the sweet potato gnocci as a strong second to the cauliflower one! Other awesome things to try: baked okra, savory plantain chips, chicken gyoza, all of their flatbread pizzas, chicken fried rice! read more

I love Trader Joe's! Lots of great snacks and goodies, great food for tasting, and just a fun environment overall! This store is a pretty good size, and although it doesn't sell alcohol like those in NJ, it's a nice store. They have some signature items that are great and can't be found elsewhere, such as green dragon sauce and chili spiced mangoes. Will be back in the future! read more

Although this location is small and could use to be expanded, I love it here. The staff is friendly and the store is always clean and organized. This is the closest TJ to me and I always make a point to stop here when I can. My only wish is that they would be able to carry alcohol! read more

We don't buy all our groceries here, but we do get a bunch of delicious things! Prices can tend to be a little high on some things, but it's a great specialty store with lots of healthy and tasty food. It's a fun place to shop. My kids love going because they have a "find the animal" challenge where they can earn a lollipop each time they come. They also have a tasting corner in the back of the shop. read more

Yeah this was a typical Trader Joe's experience , except for COVID so there's a sense of frantic mindedness with everything. Employees were hard at work restocking and being very helpful overall. My only critique is not having paper bags. I understand the plastic reusable is still somewhat environmentally friendly but I just like paper to use for recycling ... although who knows how much of that even gets recycled smh read more

I gotta say that I LOVE this Trader Joe's. The staff is always nice and they do have a wide selection of stuff. However, while for the most part they do a good job of handling COVID restrictions, it is still way too crowded in there. Whenever I walk in that store, it can barely move due to the overcrowding. Great place to stop and shop. Staff is super friendly and peppy and you can get all the good trader joe's goodies you want. Recent faves were the apple cider (sadly seasonal), hummus w. hot peppers (YUM) and blue diamond almond milk (surprisingly good, the chocolate one is tasty). Plus they always have a demo station w. free samples to entice you into buying MORE goodies. Bring your own bag cuz you know you wanna save mother earth! I love this Trader Joe's. Everyone who works there is always very nice. It's generally well-stocked. I like seeing the same faces, it lets me know that the employees are happy with their jobs. They have done an outstanding job making me believe the store is exceptionally clean and safe during the Covid 19 pandemic. Special thanks to employee Zach, who kindly rewarded us with a gift of flowers for a polite exchange he had witnessed in the parking lot. While I shop here just about every week, I might not have thought to leave a great review had he not gone above and beyond to make me feel appreciated and valued as a customer. Love this store! It has very original foods. Price is very moderate. Our favorites are the reduced guilt Mac and cheese, cauliflower gnocchi, everything but the bagel seasoning, everything put the bagel salmon, truffle dip. I prefer not to get meats here because I find them a little more on the expensive side, however if I want a one stop shopping trip I'll get the meat. read more

Love this Trader Joe's, mostly because it's basically the only one anywhere near where I live. Typically, the employees are super nice and awesome, but the last time I was there, it was cold outside, and a lady walked in behind me and coughed. A 20-something, brunette, female employee with bangs loudly said, " why doesn't everyone come in and cough on everything. That's great." And she glared at the customer, who had only coughed just the once and was also wearing a facemask. I was so taken back by the audacity and rudeness of that Trader Joe's employee. I get that we're in a pandemic, but it's cold outside and it's not like the lady coughed all over food or the people around her. To whoever that employee is, I'm sure you've never coughed indoors anywhere before in your life, right? Because otherwise that would make you a hypocrite to think you can be rude to people who have normal bodily functions. read more

Within the last year I've become a Trader Joe's fanatic and this is my go to location! The staff is always super friendly and I enjoy that they have fun at their job. Last night I arrived around 8pm thinking I wouldn't find much since it was the end of the day, but their shipment just arrived so fresh food was getting stocked as I walked in. Generally I'm not one to ask for them to check on items for me, but on this visit I didn't ask once, but TWICE and they were more than willing to accommodate! This experience stood out to me in particular because they didn't just go grab backstock off the shelf, but actually checked stacked and unopened boxes for the products I needed! Now that's great customer service!!!! I recommend going early morning or an hour before closing for the least amount of foot traffic, but it's Trader Joe's so any trip, busy or not, is worth the trip! read more

I dropped into this Trader Joe's on a weeknight when I was closer to it and it was a hour before close. This one seemed to have quite bit more variety that a couple of other ones that I have visited. Parking here is a bit easier due to its location in a shopping center with plenty of parking unlike the nightmares in a couple of the other Philadelphia based TJs. read more
