All went well today with my visit. Expected a higher price on some granny apples bur surprised to see a bag at $2.99. Checked on the branzino and was happy there too. Checkout People are always nice and fun to talk with. Store is always immaculate.

Finally made it out to the new Trader Joe's out near the Galleria. Pros: the parking is certainly easier than The Summit location, there's more space to navigate the aisles, shelves are shorter so you can see the vastness of the room more (idk what kind of Bond villain comment this is, but go with it), and this store is generally less crowded, I was here on a Saturday afternoon. Cons: the store seems to have a slightly smaller floral and wine selection than its Birmingham counterpart, the produce selection seems a bit smaller too, it's a bit less vibe-y, and the shelves are shorter leaving more opportunity to be spotted by my hypothetical Bond hero. Overall, this is a great store for a quick run-in. By the nature of Trader Joe's, you're not going to find everything you need. The staff was all incredibly friendly. I'm glad to see that we're using up these old, closed box stores with things that will be used, though!

My husband and I decided to stop by this Trader Joe's on yesterday. Y'all... it was absolutely packed with people. I felt like I had missed a memo or something. Of course, they have lots of specialty items. We ended up getting some cheese. I feel like Trader Joe's is hyped up a lot and maybe I'm just not getting it, but a lot of other people are buying into the hype. I would probably want to come back here when there were less people so I could really look around.

This was my first time to this location. It was easy to find and it had ample parking. The lot and outside of the store was nice and clean with their signature red carts nicely contained outside on the sidewalk. I was pleased to see they have more electric carts than the 280 location. I was surprised to see the beautiful array of flowers and plants as I walked in the door and along the wall. I had heard from more than one source that this location did not have a good flower selection and that is just not true. The inside of the store was clean and well organized with isles a bit wider than I'm used to, which is a good thing. There were some of the packages in produce that seemed to slip under the radar and showed signs of age on the produce, the Asian stir-fry in particular. I went through five containers, spotting slimy veg, before giving up. I really hated that because it's one of my favorite items. The store seemed well stocked and employees were friendly and helpful.

For this size store, the flowers, produce, and wine sections are generous. There was a great selection, and everything looked fresh. The meat department was also pretty well stocked. The location is closer to me than their other one, and parking is much better and easier to get in and out. There are a lot of unique items that are fun to add to your routine. They have some cookies called Jo-Jos that are similar to mainstream sandwich-cream cookies, but they have interesting seasonal flavors, too, that taste far better than the name brand. The only down-side is I can't imagine doing my regular weekly shopping there. The items seem to be so unique that I'd consider them add-on or periodic grocery buys instead of staples. However, I will absolutely come here if I'm looking for something different.

Food shopping at its best!! You arrive and see flowers outside. And since we're almost at Thanksgiving, there are natural wreaths, garlands, poinsettias and other Christmas greenery. And, reasonably priced. Then, to your left, great produce! Fresh, appealing, reasonably priced: salad mixes, vital greens, normal fruit and vegetables. But then--artichokes, cooked and fresh beats, endive, multi-colored carrots, huge portobello mushrooms, all kinds of mushrooms; reasonably priced. I'm in Cook's Heaven. Then, head to breads, uncured meats, cheeses and wine. Your holiday party will be the best ever; and you won't have to take out a loan!! On the service, I asked a team member about two cheeses I couldn't find. He took me to their in-store computer that shows current inventory. They are out, but cheeses coming in tomorrow. They had to pull the two French cheeses because of expiration date. "But", I said, "Cheeses don't expire, they continue to age, like wine". "Yes, I agree", he said. " But the grocery-buying public is used to following expiration dates; so we have the pull the products" Quel domage!

Not only is it easy to browse the newest ads, I like that there is overlap in the ads--one day that you can shop two weekly ads at the same time. Because this location is a little farther from me, this perk makes it easier to combine the trip to save both time and money. Of course, our favorite is the bulk shopping items; okay, maybe mostly the gummy bears. They've gone up recently, but when you can get them on a sale, it makes it all worth it!

I know they have made some changes since it first opened, but it did feel sort of less cluttered. I say that because while the aisles felt wider, the produce less crammed, and a back corner reconfigured, I still have never mastered the art of shopping Trader Joe's. The placement of items seems so random to me, and unituitive. Why are there peanut butter cups and harissa above frozen vegetables? Why are cookies over nearly everything frozen from dinner entrees to breakfasts? It can be a little frustrating for 'compartmental shoppers.' If you want fresh flowers, make sure you go early in the day for the best selection. And if you're going for flowers near the end of the week, be also forewarned that a number of church flower guilds use TJ to create and/or supplement their weekly arrangements because TJ gets some unique flowers in smaller bunches at decent prices.

I've learned to love and appreciate the crowds of people picking their selections to make floral arrangements as I'm entering the doors. I, however, had the time of my life browsing the aisles for some of my regular items and new exciting items to give a try.
