It was my first time at this specific Trader Joe's, but they did have quite variety of products to choose from. As I had been asking for help regarding one of the produce I was looking to purchase, the employee wasn't really helpful and a bit rude because I didn't know if the fruit was ripe or not. This Trader Joe's - I have been going for years already. I really like them - some of the stuff is so good - you can't live without it. Like the lamb chops, key lime pie, and the ginger ale. However some of the stuff is really repeat and sometimes it gets tiring in cooking and eating the same thing over and over. They should have more ready heat in the microwave meals. read more

All you NYC folks who flock to the insanely overcrowded TJ's in Union Square. Take the LIRR (preferably on the weekend so you can get the city ticket, which is a much lower fare) to Hewlett, Long Island, and get off. You will see Trader Joe's on your left. Get off the platform and walk towards it. Shop to your hearts content among the smaller, yet less crazymakingly-crowded store, then go on your merry way back home. Note: no wine at this location, but I happen to like the TJ wine shop in Union Square because there's hardly any long lines there. read more

I've been shopping here since 1998. This is my go-to local supermarket for a varied selection of foods and beverages at reasonable prices. Trader Joes offers vegan, gluten-free, dairy free, and kosher cuisine options to it's customers. Just keep me away from the snack and dried fruit and nuts sections, lol. Although the parking lot is small, there is another lot located right across to the street. It's unfair to leave negative reviews online when this Trader Joes has so much to offer and their staff is so cool and helpful (and the free samples of coffee and food at the demo station are pretty awesome, too). read more

I was here to grab one of their brined, all natural turkeys, wasn't that far of a drive. I rarely see fruits and veggies in other TJ locations since I'm usually there at night and the after work crowd basically buys out everything... So I bought some the day before just in case, but they actually had a good selection; I came here around 8:30 in the morning so it was well stocked. I love their fresh shiitake mushrooms. Really delicious in a healthy soup. They sell fresh baked bread and even though I had some, I had to get 2 more baguettes. I made a cute charcuterie plate and at night, we finished one with some delicious pasta. I stocked up on organic chicken broth, but sadly they were completely out of turkey broth at 9am! I love their soups, the refrigerated ones are so good, but the boxed ones are great as well to keep in my pantry for those lazy, cold days. Winter is coming... The only snack items I usually get are the organic tortilla chips. I've tried the sweet potato ones, as well as other flavors, but I don't really care for them. L loves the chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate granolas, those cookies that look like Oreos...anything with sugar and chocolate. It's so easy to fill up those small TJ's carts, like I literally have to be pulled away since I can't stop looking for more random items. Even when we're all waiting on the line, I disappear to look at more stuff. I wanna try everything. With these prices, Im definitely going to try as much as I can... I haven't purchased meat yet (except for the turkey) but the organic meats seem to be somewhat? affordable. I've tried a few vegan products and they were very tasty, not enough to convert us yet... Not everything here is super healthy, but it's better than your local supermarket. They have a wide selection of all natural, organic, and vegan products that won't break the bank, unlike Whole Foods. They do carry less processed foods, so I don't have to read labels as much, so I save a lot of time and what I can't eat, L or someone else will. Since we were here so early, it wasnt crowded, but still a decent amount of customers. It was great, being able to walk around the store and not having to wait for others to move and the lines were not wrapped around the store. This TJ is ok if you are in the area and want to grab some nuts and breads. Keep in mind that dairy/meat/fresh produce options here are limited. Cashiers were friendly and helpful (at least the ones I observed). Docked one star for their terrible parking lot. Entrance and exit are dangerous (especially if it is your first time here). Also, like someone mentioned, people are walking all over so you have to be extra cautious while backing up your car. Now this has nothing to do with TJ but boy oh boy people who shop here are impatient and rude. Might be a coincidence but I'm not the only one who has experienced this. read more

If you can stomach the obnoxious patrons and bad drivers, then this place is for you. I always park in the lot across the street (where Loehmann's is) because I've had many near-death experiences in the TJs parking lot, both being a pedestrian AND driver. The staff is so sweet and helpful. They seem to have a consistent staff too, I've been going to this location for 10 years and see staff members who have been there since I started going. My *only* complaint is how frequently items that I seem to love get DISCONTINUED! This obviously has to do with TJs corporate and not this particular location. I entered the store around 2pm yesterday. The parking lot was filled but I was surprised how quickly spots opened up as shoppers exited the store. Entering is a little tricky...only one sliding door is used for those entering with a cart and exiting. The store was packed with customers. I found the store very clean. Employees were busy stocking the freezer and helping others. I found what I wanted and of course more. The checkout lines were long but I was pleased that they moved pretty quickly. Is Trader Joe's is a little out of my way but it's a very nice store. The staff very friendly and helpful the selection of food is great the prices are amazing. Almond milk ,tofu, veggies, snap peas and everything that I was looking for was in the store. The prices are amazing very affordable. The only real problem that I had was in the parking lot and find a parking space cuz it was a small lot but other than that I enjoyed shopping there very much. Also found an amazing item... Came here when asked to make french toast for someone that had never had french toast the "right way" before. He said just use white bread??? WHAT!?!? I said buddy you need challah bread!!! Smaller then most Trader Joes I am used to. Come early and avoid the parking lot nightmare! The ladies at the check out counter were super personable and sweet! Always a plus when your standing on line with pretty miserable people lol. Needless to say Challah bread was readily available...even found some bourban vanilla that I'm going to have to go back for myself! Very disappointed in this Trader Joe's. I have been coming here for years and the way I was treated today was unbelievable. An employee, Tommy was serving samples of horseradish cheddar and I was very interested in trying it. I stood there for 10 minutes while he made sandwiches for 2 other employees then made a third and walked away with it. I was in utter disbelief watching him walk away from us. Another employee saw this unfold and suggested maybe he didn't see me and offered to call someone else, I was turned off at this point and declined. Ahhhhhh how I LOVE this food store! Not only do they cater to the vegetarians and vegans, but they have some of the most outrageous varieties of foods that you probably didn't know existed, meat eater or not! Well first off I don't eat meat and Trader Joe's selections of imitation meat products are not only abundant, but are impeccable compared to most. I get this spicy beef link which is full off (what tastes like) chili meat. Now I've only been a pescetarian for about a year so I obviously remember what meat tastes like, and this would fool ANY carnivore seriously. My bf eats it with rice alone. We also buy these mini mint ice cream sandwiches that are really tiny, organic bon bons, crab egg rolls, vegetable pancakes, trail mix, soups, sushi; this list goes on... all TDF! Pricy and pretentious, vegan-friendly, but tasty enough food to convert even the most health-unconscious, you can't really go too far wrong with a Trader Joe's. This one is small, obviously so small that it draws the ire of city-dwellers who have the grave misfortune of finding themselves on Long Island. But for locals, it's one of the only places the Birkenstock-footed can go to stock up on all things organic, soy-based or otherwise off the beaten path. I'm not vegetarian at present and can't afford to make a habit of shopping there, but I'm a big fan of their artichoke spreads, dips and other occasional treats. The militant customers can be a bit ... weird. Honestly, 1 star is much move than they deserve. Love Trader Joe's but this location, thanks to Michael and Antonio, is trash. Usually travel here after work to grab some vegan options. Ever since my first visit, they've always sold out of Beefless Beef. No problem since work ends late. Noticed from all my visits while standing in line that some people get the privilege of speaking to an employee and picking up their order. Even when I've asked for certain items I was told that I could call in advance and ask to have the item on hold. If I was unable to pick it up close to end of day, they'll restock the item. Makes sense. After traveling there many times I finally decided to use their pick-up service. While making my way I called their location. The first person, Michael, declined my request. The odd thing about the decline was when he initially mentioned that they don't hold the item. Just confirmed that the item is here and if I wasn't there to pick it up within the next 20-30 min it would be restocked. His response changed to "I can't actually hold the item" after telling me he could if it was done in the timely manner which was specified. Called again and Antonio picked up. I asked if I'm only interested in grabbing some Beefless Beef, could I just tell the person in front to make it an "in and out" experience. He was baffled and responded that they don't do pick up at all. This was very frustrating. Not only was I advised that I could call in advance by multiple employees after waiting on that long line and WITNESSING it done countless times while waiting on that long line, I was given a contradictory piece of information on the first call and the second call. I love Trader Joe's but the experience with both Michael and Antonio was enough for me to write this review. Will be traveling to Oceanside since their services are professional compared to the 2 kids that sound like they don't wanna do their jobs. Don't do pick-ups? Don't pick and choose who to give that option to. Can't hold items? Then don't say "yeah we can only hold for 'x' amount of time" then rephrase to "yeah we can't actually hold an item". I love trader Joe's. But the parking is a horror especially on fridays. The spots are too narrow and cars and people totally unaware when you pull in or out. One needs eyes in front sides and back . Location is a bit small and the parking lot is equally small and congested. I personally prefer to park across the street and walk across. The store is well organized and items are easy to find. Good selection of vegan, organic and local produce. Depending on your budget some items can be pricey, but personally I find the prices reasonable. The near trader's Joe to my is the one in Queens but the parking lot is super tight and I read the reviews about this one, I think I did the right thing. I noticed they were cleaning the shopping cards, it was a line to get in the store with the proper social distance but moved fast, workers were friendly, I found all I need, love their prices as usual, at the time to pay you make a line, they call you, they take your cart, you have to wait at the line, they scan everything, then call you to pay, you pay and go, the girl that was packing was super friendly. Trader Joe's is a nice market that carries health conscious foods. When I think health conscious, I usually think expensive, however, I find Trader Joe's prices to be reasonable. Their fruits and vegetables are fresh. There's a variety of fruit and vegetable drinks. There are also meats, pastas, and even vitamins. Although it's not a place I'll probably be frequenting, I'll definitely stop by from time to time to get some zucchini noodles. There's are much better than what you get at Stop and Shop. read more

I'm a Trader Joe fan but this particular location leaves a lot to be desired. The parking lot is treacherous to maneuver in . It's way overcrowded. They never seem to have sufficient stock of certain items , like quality gluten free flour. Unfortunately the consumers that frequent here are quite racial and unpleasant and is quite a turnoff. I experienced a particular cashier that Always double charged me for at least one item Every time and I'm thankful that she no longer works there. A change of location, to a larger area with a more ample parking lot would be an improvement as far as meeting consumer needs. read more

Employees seem to be nice at most Trader Joe's but I find this location especially helpful.

Make sure that you check expiration dates on products especially cheeses and breads. I've been a couple of times and expired items were on the shelves for sale. Also avoid going on a Sunday, you will be on line to check out for over 30 minutes. This location can and should do better.
