Shopping in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, California... After meeting up with Sam, Nikki, and Hannah, I saw Trader Joe's on my way to my next destination. I stopped, made a U-turn, and parked in the free parking lot! We don't have this store in Hawaii and probably never will because of shipping costs. That's why so many Hawaii residents visit Trader Joe's on the mainland. The prices are reasonable and the products are interesting! After using the convenient, clean restroom, I browsed the cozy store. I like to look at the colorful, un-tropical flowers, quality greeting cards, and practical tote bags. I sampled the seasonal, spicy popcorn and got some to bring back home! This was a great experience at a local, calm, grocery store. We'll be back when we're in the area!

Trader Joe's will outlive us all. this beautiful chapel of flavors and nourishment is responsible for every ounce of happiness felt, every smile shared, every breath breathed into my humble life. I felt lost. A boat without a life house. But trader joe's cast light when J was about to crash into rocks. Thank you Joe. I owe you my life. A haiku about TJs- Trader Joe's I Love A light that forever glows yummy pizza doughs one star taken away for the crazyyyy parking lot i saw an accident there once ppl there r nice though and the occasional free samples are bus #blessed #ilivefortraderjoes #thankyoujoeforgivingmemifeback

Might have the worst designed Trade Joe's parking lot I've ever seen... And that's saying a lot. Seriously, is it a requirement that Trader Joe's has a terrible parking lot at every one of its locations? This parking lot is a horseshoe. There's one way in, and one way out, and there aren't enough parking spots for the people that want to get in, and it takes so long to get into the lot, and then even longer to find a spot, and it just leads to a huge backup. And unfortunately, inside the store doesn't get any better. This location is small and cramped, and there are too many people inside for the size. So your grocery shopping trip turns into a game of bumper cars. I would definitely avoid this Trader Joe's location if I was you. If there is another location even close to the same distance, go to that one.

I'm not happy with TJ's this time around. I painstakingly made a grilled vegetable salad and added some Trader Joe's boiled and supposedly peeled eggs for protein. The latter description was not accurate. The eggs had numerous shell fragments, ruining the salad, and causing me to race to the sink. I hate egg shells in anything. This negative experience was surpassed only by the time I found a centipede in my Chex.

In the World of Food, subgroup Sweets and sub of that Ice Creams, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Ice Cream stands among the other flavors from all the thousands of Ice Cream producers on the Pantheon of all Ice Creams and for sure at the top of the Mount Olympus of Pumpkin Ice Creams. It took TJ's a few years to get it right but about 3 years ago: they hit Nirvana with the current blend. The Kiddoes in my family have still not been pried from the Chocolate rut but of course Chocolate is perennial but just not as complicated to get right as is Pumpkin. My biggest beef with TJ's is that they always run out of product way, way to early in the season. I mean no Pumpkin Ice Cream for Thanksgiving! It's an Infamy. (a check out dude informed me that some customers by 10 at a time so as not to run out at home!) So: Tj's why do you not take the hint and order more so that we Pumpkin Ice Cream addicts can get their fix all the way through at least Thanksgiving? In any event i was prepped to touch and feel and taste this zenith of Ice Cream flavors: spicy, nutmeggy, cinnamonish, creamy almost to a fault. So what about this unit? As i have written before it was the only Tj's near where i grew up and each Saturday, after Breakfast at the Pacific Dining Car (sadly it has now closed after almost 100 years), the Pops and i would check out what was new here. Also: they had a Live Butcher Shop here then and the Pops liked his Beef. So i have history with this store. Yes it is small-ish, Yes it finally got a refurbishing that increased the aisle widths. And as always the crew is jovial, personable and the place looks as good physically as it can. Bear in mind that Tj's goes wayyyy out for Pumpkin. I even saw a Pumpkin Rub Balm. So if you want to go around smelling of Pumpkin: check it out! Cheers!

This was my go-to Trader Joe's location when I lived in the Atwater Village area when I was in college. 3 stars!!! Haven't gone much to this location lately unless I'm in the area needing to pick up goodies from Trader Joe's. Seems that this TJs is so much busier now than what I remember so go during off peak shopping hours if possible. The store can seem really small, making it really hard to maneuver a cart when it's busy. The parking can also be challenging since it's definitely not meant to handle the traffic the store gets when it's really busy. There's often cars lined up on Colorado waiting to park. If you're lucky, just take the available street parking one to two blocks from the store.

I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!

Tonight, I was using the self-checkout and had already scanned and paid for all my items. Out of nowhere, a female staff member approached me and aggressively demanded to re-scan everything I had just purchased. There was absolutely no reason for this. She treated me with extreme suspicion in front of other customers who stood there watching, making me feel publicly humiliated and treated like a thief. What made it even more obvious and deeply unsettling was that I was the only Asian customer in the store at the time. I could not help but feel targeted and racially discriminated against. As a decade-long customer, I am completely appalled by this unprofessional and hostile behavior. I will be Escalating this to corporate management. This store desperately needs proper customer service and anti-bias training.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, around 6pm, I was waiting in line to purchase a few things at Cookbook. The customer in front of me put her basket on the register and then went to grab a few more items. No worries. I moved toward the register to pay for my purchase while that customer grabbed her other items, but I was intercepted by another customer, a man (who apparently didn't see me waiting?) who cut in front of me to buy a loaf of bread. The cashier let him do so, cashing him out and answering his questions about some other items while I continued to wait. Once his transaction was done, he noticed me and apologized for cutting in front of me in line. Again, no worries. As I went to move up to purchase my items again, the first customer hopped in front of me, back to purchase her items. Or so I thought! She actually put more items on the counter and turned to me saying "I'm going to grab one more thing", before taking off to, assumedly, grab one more thing. I waited for a bit longer, while the cashier simply waited on the woman to come back to her items instead of letting me purchase my items. Annoyed, I turned to the friend who I was shopping with and mentioned 'I kinda just wanna put this back and take off'. This apparently enraged the woman who had all of her items on the counter, who was shopping behind me for her additional item, because she remarked "Really? You have that much rage in your body?". Of course, she hadn't witnessed that I had already been cut in line and had been waiting to cash out for nearly 5 minutes. However, as a Black woman, I knew exactly where her comment was coming from and that she would've absolutely never made a comment like that to me if I didn't have the color skin that I have. At no point in the whole saga did the cashier, nor any of the other employees, take any steps to intervene on my behalf, letting either of the customers who were so rude to me know that I should be next in line. It probably seems petty or minor, but the whole situation did ruin the rest of my day. And it think it was hurtful enough to warrant a conversation with whoever was working at that time. With customer service jobs, the core of your responsibilities are kind of self-explanatory. They're in the title!
