They are professional, well-regarded in the community, and a pleasure to work with. Ben is friendly, energetic, and frank in his approach to home buying. After we realized how quickly the housing market moves in Decatur (especially for homes in our price range), I started compulsively checking various real estate websites and emailing Ben to get him to show us houses that had just gone on the market that day or the day before. Was that a bit over the top? Probably. But Ben was responsive and always accomodated us in his schedule. Ben is laid back in his approach to showing homes- he lets the buyer walk around and answers any questions they may have about a property, or promises to find out the answer if he doesn't already know. Where Ben really shines is in the offer/negotiation and home repair demand process. He gave us great advice, spent tons of time explaining what various boilerplate language in the offer meant, and so forth. Ultimately, Ben helped us secure a fantastic home in our price range, in less than 2 months time. With Ben's help, we got all of the items found in the home inspection process (including some minor mold) fixed by the seller. Ben's knowledge and attention to detail at the end of the buying process during the final walk thru were impressive, and incredibly reassuring for us as first time buyers. The rest of the Keen support team- Barry and Adam in particular- were also great to work with. Adam provided a ton of useful information about setting up utilities, trash collection procedures, etc. They are also great at providing referrals (such as a vet for our cat, reputable locksmiths in the area to rekey the house, etc). Last but not least- at closing, we were given complimentary address return labels w/ a picture of the house on it, and some postcards w/ the same. Just an example of their approach- it is totally comprehensive, and they exceeded our expectations.

She has a lot of great reviews, and I do not mean to detract from that. I wish her the best, but at the same time, I thought that, in all fairness, I need to tell of my experience. My own take is that she was usually a step slower than others to respond. And while everyone else went to look at the condo before getting back to me, she didn't. Both of these may be on account of the fact that she holds down a different day job. Perhaps she has an assistant or two at her disposal, but I'm skeptical that she would be able to provide the attention that I would have needed. The "bad reviews" seem to be one off incidents, but I can tell you that the Keller Knapp agents we have worked with and Weslee Knapp are among the most professional and trustworthy folks out there. With 200+ real estate agents at Keller Knapp, someone is going to get upset with a particular agent once in a while, but at its core the company is run by good people. If you are considering using a Keller Knapp real estate agent, go to their personal reviews since that's really what matters. The same applies to any real estate company... just becuase a real estate agent works at ReMax or Keller Williams or Compass, that doesn't mean they are good or bad. It's all about the indivdual agent and finding the right fit.

0 stars. Unprofessional…read more The Keller Knapp team's lack of communication due to the issue of recovering our security deposit has put my former roommate and I through the ringer. Not to mention I had found black mold, that was making me sick, in the AC unit in my bedroom. How was it handled? I was told to simply wipe the front grates, despite the mold being deep inside the unit beyond any capacity to "wipe". Only after much back and forth over weeks was I allowed a new unit at their, unapologetic, expense. As for more recent disappointments: For nearly two months we have been neglected and ignored by Mitch Greenberg and Tom Mohrbacher. For our move-out procedure, my roommate and I followed all rules and regulations to return our apartment the way we found it (minus the overpowering smell of cigarettes that took two weeks to get rid of when we first moved in) . During our final walkthrough, we were told everything looked great and we'd be receiving our full deposit by the end of the month. Later received a check for several hundred dollars UNDER what we initially payed. When asked for an itemized receipt, we were told there was paint damage, which was not true and neither reported to us beforehand, as well that it was not clean, when my roommate was on hands and knees cleaning for hours. Since then, we have been going back and forth being simply told "I'll have to look over it again" with no follow up. Countless emails, texts, calls and even office visits have been ignored. The lack of human empathy Keller Knapp has for their clients continues to baffle me. We felt undervalued and overlooked our entire time renting and only hope readers take into consideration what I have said before signing with them. I do not recommend Keller Knapp.
