Dr Tracy took care of wisdom teeth for both my children. He was fabulous. They were happy and none the less wise for their experience.

This Dr is honest. I went in to get a tooth extracted and he let me know that he thought my tooth could be saved. I can't thank Dr Tracy enough for the money he saved me, the sage advice he dished out and the recommendation for the Dr to perform a root canal that saved my tooth. If you need a first or second opinion, talk to this Dr. He's straight up honest. read more

Referred here by my dentist because I needed a wisdom tooth extracted ASAP. They were so accommodating and I was fortunate enough to get in the very same day - I chose not to be sedated for this procedure . One of the best all around dental experiences yet if there is such a thing.... they went over my X-rays in detail, explained what they revealed and what the recommended procedure would be throughout the procedure - Kept me informed before, during and after the extraction. For a person who truly dislikes needles, the experience was genuinely inspiring....I don't ever remember a time where needles didn't cause me to wince at the mere thought of having it any where near me. ..... all I have to say....best job ever....if only this was the norm..... It was evident they have the Professional expertise, integrity, compassion, consideration and concern for the person in the chair "ME" taking great care along the way to ensure you are as comfortable as can be under the circumstances. I definitely will be keeping his information in the event I may need additional services in the future read more

I cannot say enough words of the service I received today. Simply Superlative. Best I've ever received (70 years). I have a unique difficult situation and promptly got in during this most challenging time we are in right now. Not many options on what to do, all was clearly explained, very professionally, with care and humor, a smile. The process much anxiety on my part, was so smooth I still can't grasp my luck. I don't know how he did it, but I felt no pain whatsoever in the process of shots, removal of a tooth, recovery, just sounds not so fun stuff (how to avoid that?), you can't. Easy at home advice and care. Followup call at home that evening. Wow! I highly recommend Dr. Tracy!!!!! read more

Absolutely the best. The dr. And his staff are fabulous: efficient, kind, calm. The doctor will spend as much time with you, giving you his undivided attention, as you need or want. Extractions are painless, quick, and done with care. I am dental phobic but do not have any anxiety when at Dr David's office, ever. read more

I took my fragile, 95 year old client to Dr. Tracy for a necessary oral extraction and his office proceeds to tell me they can't do the surgery because the patients blood pressure was 206/95...I.e. He was about ready to stroke out. I explained to Dr. Tracy, my client is 95 with typically normal bp but using a (manual) sphygmomanometer (blood pressure apparatus) is necessary in getting a correct or accurate reading. Dr. Tracy proceeds to (attempt) to use a manual pressure cuff and is fumbling and bumbling with it then says, "can you tell it's been a while since I used one of these?" He then stated "nope, it's the same". I was watching him trying to fake like he knew what he was doing, and having extensive training myself in administering a manual bp, watching him fumble this bp apparatus then claim the reading was the same, basically lying to us in order to avoid the embarrassment of admitting he didn't know what he was doing, I knew he was NOT going to touch my client any further. That's unacceptable incompetence for a oral surgeon. We BOTH left there saying WTF?! If he didn't lie to us and just say he only used an electronic sphygmomanometer, I would have gladly done the pressure reading myself, but I was shocked to see this level of unprofessional behavior, and rushed my client out of there. I DO NOT recommend this (Doctor) read more

Dr. Tracy, Brenton, and Cheryl. Thank you for all being amazing from start to finish. I am three and a hours post surgery, and while i have most certainly felt better they made the process as easy as possible. Dr. Tracy entered my 10,000 questions at the consultation, and he and Brenton kept me distracted and entertained during the procedure. Glad its over with- but if I ever had to have my wisdom teeth removed again this would be the place! read more

Dr. Tracy and his staff are phenomenal!!!! I could not suggest a better, more professional group of people to trust with something so important. I have heard nightmare stories of oral surgery and had a horrible wisdom teeth extraction experience myself, but our daughter's surgery was absolutely seamless. Dr. Tracy took as much time as we needed to get our questions answered - he was patient, detailed, and knew exactly what he was doing. The staff was amazing - it was like spending the morning with old friends or family members. We felt so comfortable in their office. I will admit, they are not as cheap as some other offices we called, however they are worth the slightly higher cost by far! We had several general dentists telling us they could do the job, however after we saw the x-rays there was no way for someone who was not an experienced oral surgeon to do this job. I would trust Dr. Tracy with any of my kids' teeth. Our daughter was up and running within 2 days and had 4 impacted wisdom teeth. It took her a few days to work up to solid foods, but it was a remarkably easy recovery considering how much work she had done. I could not recommend a business more highly than this one! read more

Staff and Dr. Tracy are amazing! Im in awe of how great this office is. Took my special needs son and they were amazing with him. Recommend this office! read more

Here I sit, 2 hours after having a wisdom tooth pulled and not only has all numbness worn off, but I feel great for two reasons. First, it always feels satisfying to get something over with after putting it off for so long, and secondly the entire experience was a pleasure from start (setting the appointment) to getting confirmations calls, to meeting with Dr. Tracy and feeling as though I was in the hands of an experienced professional that cares about his patients. Although I'm very early in the healing process, I have no discomfort and am certain I will be fine tonight, tomorrow and beyond. Thank you Dr. Tracy and your compassionate team of pros. read more

I had such a wonderful experience here! One of my wisdom teeth was hurting me so bad that I knew it was time to finally have it removed. I called Dr. Tracy's office and they were able to get me in right away. I was extremely nervous but Dr.Tracy and assistant Brenton did a fantastic job! They took their time and didn't rush, but since they made me feel so comfortable it was over before I knew it! I didn't even need any pain medication afterwards and it stopped bleeding right away. No problems at all and I was shocked at how fast it healed! Since I did not have insurance, I was worried about what the cost would be, but I was very pleased with what they charged me. Also, the ladies at the front desk were amazing. Employees at other offices should take some lessons from them! Not like I'm wishing to have any more teeth pulled but if I ever have to I will definitely be coming back here. read more

Dr. Tracy is awesome! I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled on Thursday, 8/28/14 and I was completely terrified. Dr. Tracy and assist Doris put me at ease and explained everything that was going to occur before, during and after the procedure. I opted to stay awake rather than be put to sleep (cost: extra $500) which again was terrifying, but the surgeon and his assist Doris were so nice and funny I didn't worry so much about the procedure. I'm 33 which is very old for having your wisdom teeth removed and high risk, since my tooth was below the nerve. There was a high risk of my jaw being broken since my jaw line is thin and how my lower wisdom teeth were severely impacted. The surgeon did a phenomenal job and got all my wisdom teeth out with no issues - no permanent sides affects. I'm happy I had my wisdom teeth removed by the best oral surgeon in Carlsbad and the price after insurance was pretty reasonable $351. Dr. Tracy called me the first two days after surgery to see how I was doing and left multiple voicemails when I didn't answer. For such an involved procedure, I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon or experience. Thank you Dr. Tracy! You put the B in BEST! read more

Dr Tracy is awesome. He is professional, knowledgeable and patient. I recently had a tooth extracted recently and was incredibly painless. I ended up only taking one tylenol that day for prevention mostly. Maybe I was fortunate because it was a routine procedure, but MUCH better than any other experience with other oral surgeons. I have had him work on my children as well and I wouldn't consider sending my friends, family or colleagues to anyone else. Do yourself a favor and go see him - no brainer. Staff was great too. Was prepared and ready for my insurance. read more

Dr. Tracy and his staff is wonderful! I was very anxious to get my wisdom teeth pulled! But they were so calming and helpful to me that I didn't need to be sedated! The surgery was so quick and I was comfortable the entire time. Recovery was easy and I was back to my daily routine in no time! Dr. Tracy is very knowledgeable and answered every question I had and even checked up on me the night of my surgery with a phone call. I would give him more, many more stars if I could and recommend him! I will definitely be bringing my daughter in when it's time for her to get her wisdom teeth removed. read more

Dr. Tracy was amazing. I was in lots of pain went to three dentist who were not comfortable removing my upper wisdom tooth. After being told that I was extremely nervous. Dr. Tracy was kind, personable, reassuring ,and made me feel confident that he could do the job with very little pain involved. And that he did, to be honest the tooth from start to finish was out in about 8 min. The price was completely fair and I will go back for my next tooth. Not only was he knowledgeable in his work but we chatted for quit some time on other subjects that really caught my attention as to how intelligent Dr. Tracy is. Very grateful my mom found him and made me an appointment. The office staff was so sweet as well. Thanks Dr. Tracy read more

I can not even begin to say how wonderful Dr. Tracy and his staff are! I had a tooth extraction and was incredibly anxious about this having this procedure done. They did a great job of trying to make me comfortable and put me at ease. I unfortunately did not get the name of the young lady at the front desk, she was so welcoming and friendly! Dr Tracy and Brenton (hopefully I spelt that right!) were so easy going and explained the procedure perfectly. Now let me talk about the procedure...it was PAINLESS! I swear the extraction only took 10 minutes start to finish (I have no idea how long it really took). He also called me the night of the prodcedure to make sure I was doing well. I will highly recommend Dr. Tracy to anyone who is looking for an oral surgeon. read more

I had my wisdom tooth pulled out a couple days ago and it was an amazing experience! I went in to see Dr. Tracy for a consultation about a tooth I already knew had to come out. After 10 minutes of a short exam and straight talk, I had enough information and confidence to have my tooth extracted. His son is his assistant and the two of them put me at ease and worked so well together. While it wasn't pleasant to have a tooth taken from my jaw, it was over in no time, and I never felt one tinge of pain. The Doctor phoned me that evening to make sure I was okay and if I had any concerns or questions. The literature I took home explained everything I was to do after surgery which is a good thing to have since it is hard to pay attention to all the information at the office. I only took two of the pain meds prescribed and have had a great recovery! Luckily I have three months to decide if I want an implant, and if I do, I would not hesitate to return to Dr. Tracy. read more

Dr. David Tracy and his staff are phenomenal! I have had work dine by him off and on for 20 years and I have always had perfect painless results! Today I had and implant and its amazing ! Dr. Tracy removed our daughter's wisdom teeth - something she was not looking forward to. He was great. He is so calm and patient. Explains everything as he's working. Really cares about his patients. I don't know how he does it, but she said it didn't even hurt! He called later in the evening just to check up on her. Really a nice guy. His office staff is wonderful too! So nice, we felt like we had known them all for years. I wish I could give 10 stars!! read more

Wow!!! Just, wow! I can't say enough how happy I am about my unexpected visit to Dr. Tracy's office! I had a tooth break on Thursday evening and on Friday my dentist looked at it and said it needed to come out. My dentist (Dr. Scott Carmichael who is just as awesome!) referred to me Dr. Tracy. I already had experience with another oral surgeon who was great but was a further drive so I thought I'd see if Dr. Tracy's office could get me in. They said they could get me in around 2:15 but that I may have to wait a bit and I told them I didn't mind waiting at all if it meant getting it fixed before the weekend. I arrived at 2:15 and a little while later had an x-ray done and was then told it would still be a little bit and I told them I was fine with that. (I had my book and phone and didn't have my toddler so it was kind of like an impromptu afternoon off!) At just before 4 I was taken back and to my surprise the wonderful front desk lady Cheryl was assisting Dr. Tracy with my extraction. They were both so easy to talk to and explained everything thoroughly and definitely did what they could to make sure I was comfortable and stable through the procedure. Even though their office closes at 4pm they finished me up at about 4:35. The total cost was very reasonable, especially considering they worked me in on a Friday afternoon (which I know can be very busy days for oral surgery) AND they stayed late to get my procedure done and I wasn't charged any type of extra fee such as emergency or after-hour fees. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! read more

Dr Tracy came in on a Saturday to help my daugther. She got hit in the mouth with a softball and her two bottom front teeth were pulled out of socket and pushed back in her mouth. He saved her teeth and was quick about it. Thank you for being there and having a great solution to what we thought was a lost cause. Dr Tracy is awesome! I would recommend him and his staff any time. read more

I had the WORST experience of my life in this office. I will say that the secretary is above and beyond helpful and kind, but the staff, especially the male assistant, abused my son, as far as I'm concerned. My son is 15 and was extremely nervous about being put under (twilight) and we told him... myself, the secretary and doctor... that he nothing to worry about. I feel like we completely betrayed him. Breaks my heart. When he got there, they brought him in the back and he was full of anxiety. They took him to this cold sterile OR type room and left him there for 20 mins so he could stare at the tools and try to calm down. They told him his heart was beating too fast for them to begin. So they leave him in the room??!!!! Makes me sick. The doctor could not get the IV into his arm right away. He jabbed him two times and then when my son said ow, he made the remark, "what? you've never had an IV before?" No, he hadn't and needed reassurance and kindness, not someone who was making fun of him and mean. Then they strapped him down, BEFORE they gave him any medicine. Then once they gave him the medicine he started getting squirmy and panicky and told them that he wasn't under and he needed more. Brenton (the doc's son and assistant) kept throwing his legs back onto the chair and told him repeatedly to shut up. They should have at that point came to tell me what was going on so I could have made the decision whether or not I wanted to proceed. They did not do that. When my son was finished and they took him off the meds, he started sobbing. I asked if I could go in and they said not yet. I found out later that they kept him strapped in during this time instead of comforting him and taking him out of the straps. When my son got into the car, he sobbed and told me that he remembered the whole thing and was NOT under at all and kept telling the doctor and his assistant, but they wouldn't listen to him. and kept telling him to "just shut up." It's like a bad bad nightmare. I'm still so sick about it. I will be reporting them to the medical board. I don't want any other child (or adult for that matter) to be treated this way ever again. I was informed by another patient that was in there at this time that this indeed is what happened, and it made her sick and she regrets not taking immediate action. Please do not take your child to the doctor. He's completely unethical and insensitive, and his assistant son is dispicable. read more

I only have accolades to describe Dr. Tracy's performance as an oral surgeon. He is extremely skilled and competent, an avid listener to all offered information germane to the dental problem, and a pro at demonstrating a soothing "bedside manner." It was necessary for me to have a molar extracted today; the procedure was performed flawlessly, and my initial misgivings concerning the procedure prior to my visit were quickly allayed. If you are in need of any oral surgery, I would recommend him wholeheartedly! read more
