CALLED our local Rural King in Elyria to verify that they still did perform this service. While on the phone I specifically asked if they had a limit as we had about 7 or 8 batteries to recycle. The young man said no, no limits. Loaded up our batteries, drove 20 miles to the store where I called, unloaded the batteries, went to the customer service desk where we were promptly told that Rural King no longer recycles batteries. Wasted over an hour of our time plus gas for our vehicle. I would think all the employees should know the policies of the store where they work. Aggravated and disappointed with Rural King today. On the first use, the bagger detached during operation and was damaged. It was replaced under warranty. However, during the second use, the same issue occurred--the retaining pin worked itself loose, causing the bagger to fall off again. I contacted State Sharpening and spoke with Dominic, who indicated he was unable to find a solution and said that the manager, Drew, would follow up with me. To date, I have not received a return call. Based on the lack of follow-up and resolution, I cannot recommend this company.

I was in the back of the store with two men filling out paperwork and getting the process started. Final check out was at the front of the store. I come up and explain I'm buying the mower and need to sign up for the credit card offering. The young man working the counter asked me if I would like 5% back on the credit card. I said sure why not. not realizing the offerings were either 5% back or promotional period of 48 months interest free. The young man signed me up for 5% back on a 4,000$ purchase that now has an interest rate of 27%. I paid 3 payments and owe more than I did when I initially purchased it!!!! I called once I noticed and got in touch with them and the credit card company. I was told they would honor it and fix the mistake. A month later I get a email stating they cannot approve my request. After paying 600-700$ in interest on my interest free card, I had to pay off the balance of 4,021.99$. I would have never purchased this mower if it wasn't for the interest free promotion they were running. I will never in my life do business again with Family Farm & Garden. It was my first and my last time. I wish I would have gone to Tractor Supply or Royal King. Please save your time and money and do the same thing.

They have paint that is a good quality that is very reasonable. Their clothing is designed for the person who is working outdoors. All of their feeds are from a family owned company. When she was finally ready I started sharing my situation (19 years of commercial mowing experience) and she told me I was wrong about everything I shared. She then proceeded to call me stupid three different times and unsafe. Unsafe was fair, stupid was not. I even demonstrated the problem in the shop and said that I was doing something the mower would never encounter if operated right when I stepped on the front wheel to show suspension compression. She then told me all my problems were my fault and that she's all about safety and would yell at someone on the side of the road if their bucket is too high. They have a bucket at full extension outside the front door. I then asked if the Stihl mower deal was just them or all dealers. She said all dealers so I thanked her for her time, told her I'll be buying this anywhere but here and spending the next fire years having it maintained there. I then drove 45 minutes to the next dealer and found out there were two extra packages on the deal that she either didn't know or didn't share. This was my first and last visit to this store and I recommend you avoid it for sales as well. The service department was kind and knowledgeable as well as trying to cover for her behavior. If you want Hustler or Stihl products I recommend going to Wellington Implement in Wellington. If you want Mahindra products I recommend Craig Smith Mahindra Tractors in Galion or American Equipment Service in Shreve. If you are looking for Stihl mowers and honestly great 2 stroke service I recommend M and M in Ashland. If those places are too far away I can recommend Wellington Implement in Medina for Walker, Ferris, and Scag as well as The Mower Shop in Medina. 15 year olds in fast food will treat you better than what I received from Mrs. Kiefer.

After 50 years as a customer, I feel completely betrayed by this company…read more Belts Lawn & Garden told me my Simplicity riding mower was essentially worthless because of supposed transmission problems and unavailable parts. They wanted to keep the mower and even charge me a disposal fee. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion. Another repair shop carefully inspected the mower, drove it extensively, and even mowed grass with it. They confirmed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission. The mower only needed an electrical charging repair and a few minor parts, and now it runs great with plenty of life left in it. Instead of properly fixing my mower, it felt like they were trying to convince me to give up a perfectly good machine. After being a loyal customer for decades, that was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, the final cost was higher than what I was originally told over the phone. They also wanted to charge me for pickup and delivery even though they had a clearly advertised tune-up special offering free pickup and delivery.
