Let me start by saying that this is apparently a TSC corporate issue as well as a store issue. I was looking for a good price on hydraulic fluid for my tractor online, and found that TSC carried what I needed. They charged about $17 to deliver in a few days or $19 to deliver on that day. I placed the order online and waited, and waited, and waited. Then I went back to check on the order and the online system said it could not be delivered that day, as promised, but would be there by 3:30pm the next day. I decided I could just pick up what I needed in Escondido, so I canceled the online order, that same day, within a few hours, using the same system I used to order it. The next day, without any communication at all, a guy shows up at my door with the product. I told him I had canceled the order. He verified to me that he was delivering on behalf of the Valley Center TSC and he was a 3rd party contractor. He said this has happened many times before. I told him I didn't need the product and to take it back. He showed me the text he sent to TSC that stated my reasons. The next day, I checked my credit card and saw the "pending" charge still sitting on the account. I waited to see if it would reconcile in the next day or so. The next day, late in the day, someone tried to deliver the pale of fluid AGAIN. This time he dropped it off on my driveway, made no attempt to contact me, and was headed up the driveway on foot when I called to him (three times) and he finally responded. I told him the order had been canceled, and I asked if he worked for TSC. He said he DID work for TSC, the SAME STORE in Valley Center that the other guy tried to deliver from. He took that pale away and I checked my credit card the next day to find that the charge was still pending. I waited for another 24 hours and low and behold the charge went from pending to CHARGED on my account. It then became a phone hassle for me to try to get my money back from a company that refused to take NO for an answer and was bent on shoving their product down my throat, no matter what. I don't know if this is a corporate issue or a store issue, but I DO know that this was no accident or miscommunication. They can't blame the computer for this. I was able to get a "Team Leader" at the store to process a "Return" for a product I never received, on an order I canceled within a couple of hours of placing it, but now I can spend even more time making sure that this happens. I always liked the store and the idea of having their products available for a reasonable price, but I will not do business with shady people, no matter how good the store may appear to be. I'm done with TSC for good, unless I get a corporate person to reach out to me and convince me that this is just the actions of a rogue store manager in Valley Center and not a typical TSC experience. read more

I bought 3/8" chain at Tractor Supply and it breaks very easily. When it breaks, you can see it's made from pot steel, which is usually derived from scrap steel. These chains are very dangerous. They charge us like it's a real US made chain, but instead it's garbage that endangers the public. read more

This company offers one price and then doesn't honor it. I was trying to buy a safe online, and it said 999, but when you clicked on it, the price changed to 1299. The office said it was up to the manager if they wanted to honor it. The manager called me and told me the sale was over Friday, but even though it's wrong, he won't honor it. I post this everywhere. Only came here to buy a safe we found online, but since it was our first time in the store I had to check it out. First, if you have little kids, they have the cutest little baby chicks. And everything you need to raise chickens at a reasonable price. However, much of the store is pretty crowded and some of the aisles are too narrow for two people to walk side by side. Second, there are more things outside that I missed on the first pass. Don't forget to check out the outdoor area. Finally, the best part, the staff is great. We couldn't find the safe we wanted on the floor. The woman helping us gave us specs on the safe we wanted and also mentioned another on sale. Ultimately we decided to purchase the one we found online and they loaded it up (all 500 lbs of it) for us. Have an animal, or penchant for wrangler jeans? This is the place to go! read more

I can only attest to one thing for this store...they have clean restrooms. I was working on the road and needed a pit stop. My GPS told me there was a Chevron gas station on this route. So...I stopped in there only to find out they do not have public restrooms. But, the person behind the counter was nice enough to point out that the Tractor Supply Store would have a public restroom...and she was right! If you need to use it, it's in the back, righthand corner of the store. This is a bigger store than I thought from the outside. It appears to have everything you need for your livestock and other farming needs. I'm definitely going to use it again if I'm in the area. Nice and clean and fun to look around in. I placed an online order from the Valley Center store on Sunday. I chose the order to be delivered the next day (which I had a reward for) - Monday comes around, no delivery. Called customer service, they were great - then called the Valley Center location, they were rude and didn't help me. I was told the items would arrive on Tuesday. Called all of them again on Tuesday. My order was never delivered. I cancelled the order because they still couldn't tell me when it would arrive. Would not recommended this store to anyone. I needed a splitting maul and figured I'd check this place out. They had a great selection of chopping tools and I found the right maul weight that I was looking for. When I got home I split logs like a hot knife through butter.. The rest of the store is interesting. It's a mix of clothing, pet food, gardening tools, and random items. I really like the tractor supply store. It's convenient, has many things I need, decent prices, helpful & good people. However. There are a few things that annoy me. 1. That they don't always enforce the wear a mask rule. 2. That they don't clearly mark that the front double parking spots are for trucks with trailer parking. Not for a single car. Closed early on Labor Day. Me and about 10 other customers were turned away. Guy said he couldn't open the door, it was locked at 5:55pm .

My friend called me and told me they had A duck with a messed up neck. I went and got the duck and treated it for wryneck, which was a simple fix, I used Rooster booster. I then called the store to ask them why they didn't treat it and they said that they're not allowed to. It's sad because there's a short window that wry neck could be healed and they didn't even attempt any treatment. The manager argued with me for 10 minutes instead of hearing me... I ordered a safe for personal belongings on 2/17/24 was told it would be delivered on the 19th then I was told it was missing the keys and that they would sell it to me at a reduced rate "no keys kind of useless " they ordered a new replacement but couldn't deliver due to traffic I live across the street from a school and it was getting out when they were trying to deliver they rescheduled for Saturday morning I called Saturday morning to confirm. I finally called at 4:00 they said they had fired the delivery driver. Bottom line is they have no clue what is going on poor management if they don't fix this they will go under. read more

I like this store but this review is for their vet services (VIP pet care) which I'm sure are contracted. Today they were 20 minutes late for the 4pm start. We had all queued up but when they finally arrived they said just check in online. So much for lining up. Then they told us to go wait outside because of covid, even though we had been waiting inside for 30 minutes by this point. The techs were not good with my dogs, stating a policy of customers can't hold their dogs even though they were unable to and I ended up doing it anyway. Thank you to Christian, the store manager, for making our first of many trips to Tractor Supply enjoyable. We popped in for a large dog kennel, but were quickly distracted by all the neat products. We finally got around to getting the kennel, which Christian helped us with. We started talking and he asked about Bear because he himself has worked with thousands of German Shepherds. He gave us tips on crate training and recommended foods for Bear. You can tell how passionate he is about his customers. I'm so sad that I can't give more than five stars for this place. I wandered into the store today to pick up an item I ordered online, but eventually realized that I was at the wrong location. The staff were so unbelievably kind, particularly the manager on duty (she was the blond lady working the afternoon shift today and sadly I was too flustered to remember her name). This was my first time shopping at TSC and I don't think I have ever encountered a nicer, more helpful group of people at any retail store. I called the Valley Center Tractor Supply to ensure that an item I wanted was available because it was on sale and I did not want to waste my time and gas to drive there if the item was sold out. A woman answered the phone and told me the item was available and it was on sale. I immediately drove all the way there and the shelves were empty. I found the manager lady and told her I called about the item to make sure it was available and it was not. She got a real weird look on her face like "Uh oh---I just told this dude the item he wanted was available and the shelves are empty". She checked some alternate locations and there was none available at all. How can I ever shop at Tractor Supply again or even recommend it when the staff tells you an item is available but it is not??? Bought a pair of boots for my husband and when I got them home they ended up being 2 different sizes in the box. After having to drive back out into valley center I was hoping they would just be able to swap it out for the correct size. Bought a Winchester safe here and the safe failed. Contacted store and store refused a refund or exchange. Avoid buying high ticket items here as they will not refund or exchange. They will only provide you with a help phone number that leads you to multiple dead ends. I was in the market for a gas trimmer, a weed eater. I looked online, saw what I wanted and it looked like tractor supply had it nearby. I drove over to the store to buy one, but they did not have it in stock. There system said that they had one in stock but they did not. I told the guy that I would order one online and left the store. I came home and tried to order it from the tractor supply website. For whatever reason they would not accept my payment. I think it wanted me to drive to the store to pick up the one that wasn't there and pay there. I called up the store to see if I can figure out how to get the $180 trimmer. The lady at the store said that she cannot order it at the store and that I needed to call their 800 number and get it through those guys. I called up the 800 number and it said it had a 10 minute wait before I was able to talk to the customer service person. After about 18 minutes I had found one online at Home Depot and I bought it online while I was waiting. I recommend that you guys get your website fixed so people can buy stuff from you. I had a choice of Apple Pay but I had to change stuff so I didn't wanna use that, I could've used PayPal but I've had problems with PayPal before and the tractor supply option Simply didn't work.
