I was horribly abused by the store manager. I want to be really up front about this. I will happily comply with whatever store rules someone has, but without signage, I have no way of knowing what those rules are if they're not typical rules. In this case, there was no signage of any kind. I know this because I specifically looked for it. Carefully. That said, read on. I was looking at the chicks in the middle of the store and no one was around to help me. So I went in the enclosure, that has no locks or signage (other than cute signs) and picked up a chick. Apparently not allowed. Oops. The store manager saw me, came over and went *berserk.* She loudly yelled at me in front of everyone in the middle of the store. She wouldn't back down. Instead, she doubled down and was loudly yelling at me, scolding me, and using very rude language. Humiliating! I explained that I didn't know it wasn't allowed and apologized for my error, and had there been any indication that it wasn't ok, I wouldn't have. I told her she was really out of line and unprofessional and that she shouldn't treat customers this way and that they need signage to indicate that something isn't ok. Or a lock! It made no difference. She continued to yell at me, and even defended her terrible behavior!! I insisted she apologize for her mistreatment, and she sarcastically gave me a yelling/flimsy apology, stating something like I'm sorry you're offended. Which anyone with half a brain cell knows is not an apology. Then she stalked off in a huff. As I left the store, she was angrily instructing one of the associates to put up signage. To make matters worse, I called corporate offices, waited on hold for a half hour, and when I finally got to speak to someone, I was promised that a district manager would call me. No one ever did. If you enjoy being abused, please visit this store and see the young female manager, about in her 20's, maybe 30's light brown hair. Will literally never be back or shop or any of their stores again. This company doesn't care about its customers, apparently. A problem is an opportunity to shine and earn a lifetime customer. read more

I just have to say, that the Sturbridge, MA Tractor Supply has THEE most HAPPIEST and most polite people working there, hands down. No matter when I have gone there, during the day or evening, every single person I've ever encountered there have been nothing but friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Now that I am walking again, I felt the need to stop in here since I was stopping in at the Shaw's just a few doors down. A few months ago when they first opened this location, they advertised live chicks for sale, which necessitated my need to check this place out. I learned that in addition to tractor supplies, the also sell gardening supplies, car supplies, and pet supplies. The store was clean and easy to navigate. Prices seemed to be OK. There were a few other customers walking around on this Tuesday afternoon but didn't see anyone working there until I was on my way out. Good thing I didn't need any help. read more

Tractor Supply - Department Stores Near Me - Sturbridge, Massachusetts

I've been to all of the Tractor Supply stores in our vicinity (as well as to similar stores that are not part of the Tractor Supply franchise), and the store in Sturbridge is, hands down, the absolute best. The store itself is clean, well laid-out and well provisioned, but what sets this store apart is the PEOPLE. From day one, we received service that went above and beyond. Everything from taking the time to give advice (we are newbie farmers), finding us experts when folks in the store didn't know all the answers, special ordering items for us, and a no-questions-asked return policy has made us regulars here. We are on a first-name basis with the entire staff who are warm and personable. Folks here, who own big trucks, even spent their own personal time to deliver items to our house, free of charge. I'm not the kind of jaded consumer who believes that good service is nonexistent, so I don't feel this is overinflated praise. Love this place - so much to tempt me - from clothes for my grandchildren to great gardening gloves to organic chicken food. Love it!

This place was pretty cool. I'm not much of a farmer but the gardening and hardware selection is pretty amazing. We bought heavy duty rubber boots for the family for $15 and wear them year round whenever we go out on the muddy yard. We but our Nutro brand pet food here for our dogs so the pet food selection is close to what you would find at Petco or Petsmart. read more
