My very thoughtful friend bought me a gift card to Tractor Supply in Orange, MA as a Christmas…read moregift. So I went there and tried to buy something with it. The employee at the register scratched off the back for me to read the number. He scratched so hard that a couple of the numbers weren't readable and so the gift card couldn't be redeemed. None of this was my fault, but the rude manager lady who came up to try and help this kid said I'm out of luck. I said none of this was my fault and they needed to let me have the merchandise after taking the money from my friend who bought me the gift card. She refused. Rudely. Then her manager, Mike came to the register and he said no as well. What a waste of money for my friend who was just trying to do something nice for me. That store sucks. I always have a bad experience there. I'm never shopping there again. If you're the farming type and live near Orange, MA, I highly recommend Greenfield Farmers Cooperative Exchange. Their selection is much bigger and their prices are WAY lower.

Went to the Hinsdale, NH Walmart to have my winter tires switched to my regular tires. Waited 30…read moreminutes to be called by the Attendant who told me that they couldn't switch my tires because my car is AWD and the tires are for a Front Wheel Drive vehicle. I explained my car is not AWD it is FWD and they have switched the exact same tires on the exact same vehicle last year. The Manager said "well, actually one of the treads on one of my tires is worn and I would have to buy a new tire." So I asked are you saying you can't switch my tires because there is a worn tread on one of the tires or because you believe my car is AWD. He said "well it says AWD when I look it up." I got the sense they just didn't want to do the tire switch. I made a complaint to the General Store Manager. She said she was going to be sure the complaint was filed, but I seriously doubt it. Would strongly advise not going to the Hinsdale Walmart for any automotive reasons.

He responded quickly to my texts to set up a pick time and date and answer my questions about cost and payment method. He was not upset when I missed my first pick day and was flexible about time, showing no annoyance when I showed up 30 minutes late, which I greatly appreciate as a busy mom of 4 who works full time. Once my husband and I arrived Jim introduced himself and invited me to select my own bales from the hayloft, then helped deliver them to our truck. The hay is very high quality and my horse immediately gobbled it up. On my way out he showed me the farm's winter produce supply, including winter squash and potatoes. They also had a large selection of maple syrup in different sizes. Jim shared his new website link with me and I discovered more goodies, like buffalo-style pickled eggs, which I promptly ordered to be shipped to my brother-in-law. Overall, it was a great experience and I am looking forward to our next hay pickup :)

The garden/greenhouse area is large with a good selection. Prices area fair on most items. If you're buying name brand stuff, it's often at retail. But, they will have sales and some items are discounted well if your timing is right. If you need to get something from the loading area, they'll load it or help you load it if needed. The loading area was recently paved, which is a nice touch.
