Went to my local store in Turlock (who are full of very nice helpful people by the way) - but they were out of what I wanted. They've always carried it and they were out a week or so ago, so I thought SURELY it's back in stock by now several days later, since it has a relatively high and steady turnover rate, and I was told it would be there by the next Thursday I believe, and it was Sunday. Inventory said they had 2 (after fresh restock? That should have been my first clue), but they had none. Was told by a helpful employee after checking how many were at each store at the moment. It was closing time so the next day I went to the next closest store a few towns away (Ripon), that was also supposed to have some. Nope, none. When I got to the store a clean cut gentlemen had his eye on me and stepped up to say "Help you find something?", you know, that "I don't trust this guy" style when there's 3 other regular employees standing right there? I found out later he was the regional manager, "Kevin". Guess what? Also not the electronic inventory claiming 2 - in fact, again, none at all. At this point I'd learned my lesson about the alleged inventory that the electronic tracker claims, so I was about to have them call the other stores for me, however, Kevin the Regional Manager said he was just at the Oakdale store and he "knew" that they had some. So I Drive from Ripon to Oakdale (which was awesome due to an emergency road black and detour on HWY 120 that detoured us back to River Rd., causing a 20 minute wait at each overloaded country stop sign from Ripon to Oakdale. lovely ;-) "knowing" at least I'd finally get my product. I bet you know what's coming next, don't ya? Yep, instead of the 4 inventory claimed, Mmm Hmm, none (thank you TSC's electronic inventory tracker! ;-). Even though Regional Manager Kevin said he was "just there doing inventory and knew that they had some". The two employees I was talking to there at the Oakdale store looked at each other with "that" look of "Mmm Hmm, here we go again", the one employee said "I'm sorry, I usually handle that area and I was just back there as well, we don't have any, we've been out of that for about 4 weeks." Wonderful. Moral to the story? No matter WHAT the electronic "inventory", OR, even the "Regional Manager" says - CALL first, if not, hours and over 100 miles of round trip later, you STILL won't have what every store was supposed to have. At $6 per gallon of gas, that call will save your wallet from some serious thinning and weight loss. For the record, in my personal experience anyway, all the regular employees at all the stores were of good stock - polite and helpful - zero complaints with any of them, never have, but clearly the system they rely on needs help and makes them look bad. read more

They went out of their way to take care of my warranty. Very friendly staff.. a little slow on the response but they took care of business.

The lack of communication and vague dialgue confused my 70 year old father. My father's recent purchase of (shipping) a gun safe turned out to be useless and wound up hurting him in the end. He was thinking that paying to have it shipped would include them loading it into the house; the same way when you buy home furniture and have it deceivered. However, that is not what happend. This is a huge misunderstanding that could have been totally negated had it been told to my father correctly. My father already owns a truck and could have saved money had things been communicated better. There was absolutely no need for him to pay shipping and the fact that corporate and the store states policy is not to load a gun safe into a home. This was just an overall bad experience that could have been avoided with better customer service and transparency. read more

It is 1:40 am and their alarm is going off. No one will turn it off until 7am when someone arrives to the store. This is unacceptable! We are unable to sleep. This problem has been reported to district manager and continues to occur. ATWATER CA STORE PLEASE FIX YOUR ALARM SYSTEM! The police dep was called and they stated they get multiple calls at night from different residents! I am encouraging everyone to file a report. This is absolutely detrimental for our health. VIP vet clinic needs to be sued. Discrimination against disabled people. Came up 5/16/21 from Merced with our 4 dogs. Called ahead to be sure they where there and accepting. Got there 10 minutes later (hour and a half before close at 3:30). Vet gal said no more today wouldn't make exceptions. This is our second attempt at this store. Tried prior month and vet group canceled showing at last minute. Will go to county animal services for rabies updates. This store carries a wide variety of garden and outdoor items ranging from live plants to barbecue grills to pet housing. My favorite area of this store is their animal feed section, they stock food for all kinds of livestock, but most importantly they carry the organic food needed for my pet potbelly pig's diet at a price that is always cheaper than competitors. read more

Very disappointed in this store. Third time I've been at this store. The first time I went in and bought some pet food for my dogs. On that time I had to ask a girl a question to get her to talk to me and get off the phone because she was on a personal phone call. The second trip they were out of some of the food we were looking for and the other food we were looking for was damaged. So I talked to the manager Sonny and she assured me that she ordered tons of the blue brand which is what we were looking for. She said it would be fully stocked by Tuesday. Tuesday comes and me and my wife go to get some dog food and not only was it not there the girls up front said that it wasn't even ordered and that there was none on order. The Atwater Tractor Supply is anything but professional. I'm not sure who the store manager is but whom ever it is they really need to get their Team up to date on policies and procedures. Today will have marked the second time I've called the store in less than 6 months and some one answers the phone and says that they are closed, and then they hang up. Problem is, like today they are supposed to be open till 9:00pm. Also I went in yesterday and asked to purchase 5- 6.5ft T-posts. I paid the cashier and was told to wait up at the front of the store and someone would bring them to me. So I waited and waited and waited. No T-Posts. It took me going back to the cashier 4 times to ask where my T-Posts were before I finally got them. Assuming they were what I ordered I went home to complete my project only to find out they had given me 6ft T-Posts when I ordered and paid for 6.5ft T-Posts. What's Up! Terrible customer service. Don't greet people unless they're white passing. I was discriminated when I walked in, treated terribly, and felt unwelcome. The employees looked happy to help white people but were rude to me- I don't understand why someone is in customer service but can't acknowledge and help all customers. Customer service at this Atwater store is horrible to say the least. Had an issue with there shipping policy when we were told, "if you ordered in store it is free shipping. Went to the store and stood there at the service counter and waited for 5 minutes with no other customers around. They two employees looked at me and didn't even acknowledge I was standing there. Finally one lady behind the counter asked the assistant manger that was standing there if he could help me. That's when the service went downhill even more. He had no idea how to work there computers at all. He then said let me get someone who knows how. About 15 minutes later someone else comes back that started to help us with our order. When he stated shipping wasn't free it would be $115. We told him the ladies name that we talked to who said shipping was free. After about another 35 minutes. The assistant manager came out from hiding. I asked him if the manager was on duty and his reply was, "you're looking at him" Victor is his name. We decided to leave the store and take our business elsewhere. I was walking out, and thought the company should know how clueless and rude there assistant manger was. So I asked an employee for the district mangers number. When I did Victor, the assistant manager ran and hid in the stockroom. Finally a employee by the name of Patrick came out and gave me the number and told me to fallow him and he would do what he could do to help. First off Patrick should be the assistant manager not Victor. Patrick handled the situation very professionally and knew how to operate the system. Patrick did such an incredible job taking care of me I purchased my longhorn grill. I was in the store for a total of almost 2 hours. So I thought the district manger, Kevin should know how horrible Victor did and what a wonderful job Patrick did. So I called him and left a message and my phone number to call me back. Well now I know why there customer service is so horrible. There district manager Kevin never called back and just ignored my phone call. It all steams from leadership and this Tractor Supply is completely lacking it. It was my first and last time I'll be shopping at a Tractor Supply. Oh I did open account with them before I went to the store as well to get the extra points and discount. I'll be cutting that up and closing the account. read more

This was my first visit, and I would come here again if I didn't live in merced. was greeted right when I walked in by a middle-aged gentleman at the register even though he was helping another guest at the time. afterwards I needed help finding something and when I asked him to just 'point' me in the right direction, he said "follow me and I'll show you." I like the place. It has decent variety and has cool items for kids all the way to the quick item pick up for a small farmer. We bought my youngest son's tricycle there two years ago; super heavy duty, cool old fashioned build and the traditional red horn. We bought fans there a gun case, boots, shirts etc. We have bought other things there too. Might be a on the pricey side, but most specialty places are higher end. Lowes is great, but Tractor Supply has a more distinct product line; not all the same as the bigger chains. I had great customer service; over the phone and in person. Went to buy some baby chicks. So disappointed. There were dead chicks in with the live chicks. There weren't that many so it's sad that dead ones were left in there. Also had a duckling with a neck injury suffering in with the other ducklings. Can never get any assistance and there's always a line even though there's only two customers in the store.
