OK, I was a restaurant critic and food writer for 20 years and this is one of the best burgers anywhere. Everything else looks good but I can only order the same thing every time. I hear the salads are great and the wings look good too... maybe someday. Go early it gets really busy for good reason. I went to a Kuma's once (often billed as the best burger in Chicago) and when they said presumptuously "isn't it fantastic?" I said actually, no, the fries are soggy and cold and the burger has hardly any blue cheese on it. I can get a better burger at the bar by the Cary train station. read more

Really good food! I go to tracks a few times a month for lunch. On tuesday they have $2 burgers but everything on the menu is good. They especially have really good burgers and salads. Stop in for lunch you won't regret it. Tuesday might be a little crowded. read more

A burger restaurant should know how to cook the meat per customer request. I asked for medium and it came out dry well done. Sure the portion is big, they have 20+ different types, the toppings are delicious, but if the meat isn't cooked to preference then forget about the rest. Please develop a better system to provide customers what they ask for. I'll come back here if I'm in the area again, just more cautious. read more

1st time here about six months ago and we thought it was great. They are known for their burgers, so that's what we went with. We loved them. I could only barely eat half of mine - olive burger - and it was so good. Perfectly cooked and really delicious. The amount of fries that fill the plate are a little over the top, but this is not a place that is into portion control. That said...we ventured here again tonight. We just wanted a good burger and a beer. We started with their "new" app - fried green beans. The server who delivered them remarked on what a good choice we made. Nope. Not so much. The batter was heavy and gross and the wasabi mayo not a good match. There was a huge clump of wasabi that wasn't mixed into the mayo - so think chunky dipping sauce, and I'd hate for someone to get a mouthful of that. If you want a really to die for green bean app, try the one at Duke O'Briens. Tempura batter, so they are nice and light with a super delicious sesame-ginger dipping sauce. While we weren't impressed with the beans, we knew the burgers would be great...right? Wrong. I ordered the Frenchie - a burger with a bourbon sauce, mushrooms, swiss cheese and fried onions. I ordered it med-rare and it was cooked well. The bourbon sauce was good, the onions good, cheese gooey aand good...the problem? Canned mushrooms were on my burger. Seriously? There is no excuse for those rubbery, tasteless, gray poor excuses for shrooms to be on my plate, ever. Last I checked fresh mushrooms are available year-round and easy to saute. Those things ruined the burger and I couldn't get them off with cheese melted all over them. Eww. I also asked for the free-upon-request coleslaw. Do yourself a favor and skip it - sickeningly sweet and limp. Again, gross. My husband ordered the Steakhouse burger: Garlic spinach, onions & mayo. He also ordered his med-rare and it came out well, well done. Not only that, the spinach was obviously previously frozen, made apparent by the fact that it was so limp and watery...no one took the time to squeeze it out. Gross. He scraped it off his overcooked burger. And it would have been a million times better had they used fresh ingredients. So Tracks wants to pride itself on its burgers . . . okay. They would have a decent burger if they chose to use fresh ingredients. Plain and simple. We will not be back. Next time we will go to Duke's instead - for their green beans and a much better burger! And we know Duke's prides itself on good, fresh and local ingredients. read more

This place was much better a couple of years ago... not sure what happened, but something did !!!!! The management must think that they are doing you favor to come in and eat there.... they need to realized customers are what pay the bills for them... the staff there thinks they are too good to serve people or take the orders... the owners kids run it now and they are RUDE !!!!The food has gotten smaller that's for sure.. one of the best things on the menu was the turkey club.. used to be huge, now JUST AVERAGE at best. Not sure why this place has such good reviews -- overpriced, mediocre food that takes forever. Burgers are so not worthy of their hype. I feel bad for the staff because you can tell they really are trying, and they are usually friendly, but this is just a pretty poorly run joint. Dropping my review to 4 stars after trying the fish fry. Burgers are amazing. So are the cheese balls--best I've had outside of Wisconsin. The fish fry was super disappointing. The fish is incredibly under-seasoned. I don't think they use any seasoning on the fish or in the batter--maybe a tiny pinch of salt, but nothing else. After several heavy shakes of pepper, a big squirt of lemon and a lot of tartar sauce, it still wasn't gety good. The corn they serve is a joke--why even put that tasteless, frozen corn on the plate?? The potato pancakes I got were not hot, they were over cooked, but not burned, and again, lacked seasoning. I'll be back again and again, but never again for the fish fry. read more

Have been here many times and unfortunately will not be going back. Went in on 10/23/16 and sat in the bar area. Received our drinks right away and then took forever to order because our waitress never came back. Then finally after ordering, never saw our waitress again. Someone else brought our food out and one burger did not come out on a pretzel bun as usual and the other burger was supposed to come on Texas Toast but was on regular burnt toast. We waited to say something to a server but no one came by so we tried our food. The quality was poor and we just wanted to leave and didn't finish our food. Another waiter had just come on shift and we had to ask him to grab our check because we still had not seen our server and it was not even busy. Will never go back. read more

I have been going to Tracks for a long time... and I have found that the restaurant has gone completely downhill... starting with their customer service. Having not seen a group of my friends for many years, we decided to go to tracks (being that it was one of our favorite restaurants to go together). We get there on a Thursday night and the hostess (blonde hair) tells us the wait for an outside table is going to be 30-35 minutes. Thinking that it wouldn't be that bad, my friend and I grab a seat at the bar to catch up and have a drink. (Throughout this time.. I continuously heard the phone ringing.. except no one would pick it up..... the point of this statement will come later). The hostess finally comes up to us (45 minutes later) and says "Umm.. your table is ready... as if she was annoyed we hadn't heard our name being called... well... I'd be annoyed too except she wasn't calling our name.. she was calling a different table. After correcting her.. she goes.. "oh well you guys are next on the list.. so it shouldn't be much longer" 30 more minutes go by.. and I go check to see if our table is ready. "I'm sorry that's going to be only 15 more minutes..." So now we have been there waiting for dinner for over an hour. I then go back up to see what the dilemma is and she goes, "You guys said you didn't want the table anymore, so I gave it to someone else." I'm sorry.. but this girl is losing you business due to her snotty attitude and the way she handles customers. I found her demeanor to be absolutely awful for that of a hostess.. (the first person people talk to). After the manager came over, he apologized, got us a table, and gave us a round of drinks at the end of the night... but seriously.. come on. After spending much of the night there, I woke up unsure if I left my debit card sitting on the table, as it was not in my purse. I called Tracks, not once, but about fifty times... and no one answered. WHY do you not answer the phone? I don't get it. When the phone rings.. answer it. Tracks is not what I remembered it to be when I went there a long time ago.. and for that reason I won't be going back. Thanks Tracks. read more

We've been fans of The Tracks in Cary for years. With some restaurants they decline with age, not so with the Tracks. It's regularly updated and improved. The prices remain very reasonable, the drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is party, especially on the weekends. But the food is the story. BEST BURGERS I've had in Chicago. That includes Cuma's corner. About 20 choices but my fav is the Peppercorn burger. Throw some Giardianaras on and you are in heaven. Other fantastic entrées; the shrimp dinner like 9 big butterfly shrimp (BIG) with the best horseradish cocktail sauce this side of new England. The Ahi Tuna Salad has huge slices of fabulous rare tuna for less than half the price of downtown Chitown. The broasted chicken - Saturday night special is amazingly crisp and flavorful, finally the Lemon Chicken is two meals in one. Cover it with balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese crumbles and enjoy! Finally do'nt forget Friday Fish Fry. Also rated very highly! Nice outdoor seating. Fun. Don't miss it!! read more

Hands down the BEST burgers around! For a small bar situated along side the train station this place has BIG appeal. My favorite is the Kabang Burger! If you're going for dinner, there is plenty of parking as the Metra parking will mostly have cleared out. When you enter, you walk by the slots through the bar and then get advised to pick any table. Service was prompt with a vast menu of burger choices. The specials are also quite good with 2 8oz. pork chops w/ mashed potatoes and green beans for $9 on Mondays and a good-quality cornmeal crusted flaked cod for their Friday fish fry. Beer menu is good not great with nearly all IPA for craft beer on their draft list but a wider variety of bottles. The value is really good as their burgers are 10oz. and includes lettuce, tomato, sliced onion, fries and slaw. Overall, another good restaurant in Cary. read more

I love the food here - LOVE. And if I were judging on food alone, this would be a 5 star review, but, other factors contribute to the three stars. First, every time I come here everyone working seems confused and disorganized. A few months ago I was playing on the slot machines while waiting to be seated and I got carded 4 times. This is petty, but c'mon, communicate a little. What really led me to offer this review was mine and my boyfriends visit yesterday. The service was, in no way, terrible - but it wasn't great (or even good). We sat at the bar and everyone behind the bar seemed SO lost. There was no organization or method to the madness - which I'd get if it were busy but it was a very average sized crowd which shouldn't have created such disorder. Whatever, we got our drinks and everything was going good. We ordered our appetizer (the spinach dip that we LOVE), a cup of soup, and our entrees. The Spinach Dip, which usually comes in a bread bowl, came in a normal bowl with a very small side of chips to dip in. I normally don't mind paying the 9.99 for this appetizer because it's worth it with the bread bowl, but with just chips, it wasn't. I would suggest that in the future you inform your customers when there is a change in a dish. If I would have known that I'd be getting a lesser quality dish than I expect, and pay the same price, I would not have ordered this as an appetizer. A few other small problems: 1. My soup came out after my entrée, at this point I didn't even want it anymore. I guess some places serve their soups with the entree's, but most times when I've gone out to eat these places have asked if I'd like it with the entrée or beforehand. 2. When we ordered our appetizer and the waitress (bartender) assumed we were done ordering and we added that we'd like an entrée she responded "have you SEEN the size of our spinach dip?". Like, what? I'll order thirty of those and twenty burgers if I want to, and if I'm paying for all of it, what does it matter if I don't finish? When I asked to take my salad to go she even stopped by and was like "full, huh?", in an almost condescending tone. Kinda annoyed me. She did seem nice enough but she was continuously rattled and I feel like she just needed to sit down and take a deep breath. She was stressing me out watching her. 3. A girl that I assume was a shift manager was scolding two other waitresses in the middle of the walk way between the restaurant portion and the bar. I had to walk around them to go to the restroom and again walking back. This just seems tacky and unprofessional to me. If you need to discuss problems with your staff, that's fine. But don't do it in the middle of the restaurant. I don't intend to write this review to deter others from going to Tracks because the food really is REALLY REALLY good. My intent is for a manager sees this and it can be used to better the place and turn it into 3 starts to 5. I will be back, because yum, and hope that the staff can get their act together between now and then. read more

The Tracks Restaurant/Bar is hands down our favorite place in the Area to meet Friends and have a Beer and Sandwich. In fact, we have been there twice in the last couple weeks. My Wife and I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger and for $9.99 the Hamburger which comes with Fries or Chips is so big you have to bring home half of it to enjoy another day. Our Waiter named B (?) on Saturday night was so attentive and friendly and completely memorized our four food orders and did not mess up anything. The place was packed at 5:45 pm and it gets Loud but it seemed like it was a friendly Local crowd. My problem with posting this review is that others may follow our recommendation and we might never get a table. read more

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. The burgers are absolutely out of this world and so creative. There's a huuuuge variety of beer and spirits too. The atmosphere is cramped and loud at night but the food is so worth it. If you're into sports, there's always something being featured on the wall-to-wall TVs. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and quite frankly, I applaud them for doing their jobs amongst rowdy people with little elbow room. Waiting times can get ridiculous as well. Been there, done that way too many times. Alcohol is pretty average-priced, but the food is a touch more expensive than something like Culver's, for example. Mine and my boyfriend's last bill at Tracks was somewhere around $30-40 and consisted of fried cheese cubes (DO IT), a specialty burger, a smaller burger for me, two Cokes, and one beer (all without tip). Fun bar with great food! Big menu and large portions. Nightly specials include booze and food. Outdoor dining and great for kids.

My hubby and I have been coming to Tracks for 10 years and have to say, while the burgers are really really good, we can't get past the noise in this restaurant. Would definitely order take out but have been told they don't offer this service. What a shame! read more
