I will echo what Jose said in his review - "Garcia is one of those mechanics you can spend years…read moresearching fro and never find". He is an excellent mechanic, easy to work with, responsive, and extremely affordable. More than anything, though, he is an honorable guy. There have been times where he's refused payment from me. He once told me that you don't pay if he doesn't fix it. There are even times when he didn't charge me even though he did fix my scooter (Kymco Agility50)! And when I have had to pay, it's always been crazy cheap. I get the sense he does this for the fun of it and not for the money. I was reticent to post on here since I don't want to inundate him with new customers, but I felt like I had to give him his due praise. A rare breed!

Garcia is one of those mechanics you can spend years searching for and never find. Experienced,…read moreaffordable, and honest - forthcoming about what he knows and doesn't know. He stated a preference for working on Asian scooters, he owns a couple of Kymco People 50s, and of course motorcycles (he had a Rebel 250 in the shop when I dropped by). On my first call he was honest about his unavailability, he has very limited working space, but he called back about a week later letting me know that I was welcome to drop the bike off. Unlike at repair shops, available means he's ready to work on your bike right away. Dropped off a Honda Metropolitan II, long ago seceded to my gf, and got a call the next day saying the bike was ready to be picked up - new tires and an oil change for a very reasonable price. If you want to save time, bring him the parts he'll need to do the work (we brought him tires and synthetic oil of the right viscosity). When we picked up the scoot he made sure to mention some warning signs he noticed while working on the bike and advised us to keep an eye on an oil leak, all of which was appreciated. Have yet to bring in a scooter or motorcycle requiring a major repair or diagnosis but I'll report back when/if I do.

Love this spot. As a new (and woman) rider, the bike scene can be intimidating - and isn't always…read moresuper welcoming. Most of the other bike shops I stepped foot in managed to mansplain me right back out the door. Laurel was patient and helpful as I tried on literally every pair of pants (men and women) in the showroom. The crew there was also super gracious in helping me with some basic questions about my new bike. Love my new riding pants and gloves. Really looking forward to coming back to take a basic maintenance class, learn more about fixing my bike up myself, and meeting more riders.

Dunn Lewis isn't just a great store for gear and motorcycle supplies--it's a hub of the DC moto…read morescene. It's also a great place to learn more about your machine, make repairs, and customize. Gear selection is limited to make finding what you want easy. The shop is very spacious to keep the space feeling more like a hangout than a warehouse for merchandise. A lot of the brands are not distributed by any other brick and mortar shop in the area (Saint comes to mind), and all are high quality and stuff you would actually buy. There is also a selection of supplies, which is targeted for members if the motorcycle club. They stock 15-50 boxer oil which is hard to find to support the boxer owners that are members. This evolving support is part of what makes membership valuable. Which brings us to membership. Half of the space is a members only garage which is available by signing up for one of a few membership tiers. Dues vary with access: higher tiers cost more and give you more time to make use if the garage space, use the wide assortment of shop tools, and in a few cases give access to specialized machinery. Classes that are made available to the public are offered to members at a discounted rate. It's common for 2-3 different projects being worked on, and collaboration is natural. The DC moto scene is small but welcoming, and Dunn Lewis is definitely a good place to connect. They offer events and rides that are available for anyone, and it would be hard not to get involved with DC moto clubs like dirt church if you hang around the shop. Mason and Laurel who run the shop are always available for tips on what's happening around the city and are a huge part of what make DLMC worth supporting. There's also great food and bars on the same block. Worth mentioning. As far as what could be better: it's a new space and features are growing. So if it doesn't have everything you need, you might have to wait for them to bring it in. But you only need to make the suggestion and it's something you'll probably see in the future. All moto and scooter riders are welcome. More than worth a look.

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST SCOOTER REPAIR SHOP I HAVE DEALT WITH. I tried to give the guy an…read moreopportunity to redeem himself from his previous ill dealings with me over a year ago. First, the owner (or whatever position he hold) Gus makes up prices as he goes.He gave me one price for services and then quoted another. Secondly, I purchased a part from him for $20 and a few days later he said it was $40. My current experience with him is a real show of bad business. On Wednesday (10-19-2016), I took my scooter in for a repair (re-thread of cylinder head for spark plug). I paid in advanced and was assured it would be ready no later than Friday (10-21-2016). When I called on Friday, at 5:15 pm, I was told they had not even begin working on my bike. When I arrived at 6:30 pm, they had started working on it. Then at 7:57 pm, I got a call asking me if the bike had a previous oil leak. This bike sat in their shop for three (3) days without an oil spot. Additionally, the mechanic would have said something about there being an oil leak when he opened the bike. I am picking my bike up from him tomorrow and will never do business with this shop. It would have cost me a little more to go to REDLINE MOTORSPORT, but they would have gotten my bike repaired by now and I would not have been asked if there was a problem that was not existing before it was brought into their shop. IN SUM, RUN FROM THIS COMPANY AND AVOID TAKING YOUR SCOOTER/BIKE TO SCOOTER SOLUTIONS and CYCLES!!!!! I AM WRITING A FOLLOW-UP TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW AFTER HAVING MY BIKE REPAIRED BY SCOOTER SOLUTIONS AND CHECKED OUT ELSEWHERE : After riding my bike a couple of days things just did not feel right, so I had it looked at. I must say they really did a number to my bike to the point where I had to pay another shop to correct some issues. First, the oil was jet black. Mind you the Manager/Owner (Gus) of Scooter Solution called me to ask if there was an oil leak on my bike. Two days before it went into his shop the oil was changed. After getting it back from them I had to get the oil changed again. There was also the smell of exhaust fumes coming from the bike as I rode it. The ring from my exhaust pipe was not put back in. Secondly, almost all of my nuts and bolts were changed on my bike. There was no reason for them to replace these things, but they did so. The nut that connect the muffler to the engine is a long one designed for that purpose and they replaced them with regular nuts. Lastly, I want to point out that I normally don't write a review about a company, but the service I received here should to be expressed so you can be informed before you go there. After reading my two reviews about this company I hope you would take your bike someplace else to have it worked on. Or you will be saying "HE TOLD ME SO". Sincerely Submitted, Bruce Gaynor
