Over $300 later, I drive it home and after a few miles, the tire still has issues. I reached out and the gentlemen agreed to come onsite to fix it. He never showed up without any notice. I then took it to an authorized Yamaha mechanic who told me "someone put an inner tube in your tire, a tire that does not require an inner tube". This was not only extremely dangerous but did damage to my bike which cost me even more money. I've reached out several times trying to resolve this amicably. I asked for a partial refund on the labor and the charge for the inner tube. He refused. Then he said he would. Then he said he would give me $100 back. Then he said he would give me the entire amount back but over a payment plan. I agreed and then payment never came. I would not recommend this place to someone as they do not know something as essential as mopeds do not get inner tubes into tires.

Gear selection is limited to make finding what you want easy. The shop is very spacious to keep the space feeling more like a hangout than a warehouse for merchandise. A lot of the brands are not distributed by any other brick and mortar shop in the area (Saint comes to mind), and all are high quality and stuff you would actually buy. There is also a selection of supplies, which is targeted for members if the motorcycle club. They stock 15-50 boxer oil which is hard to find to support the boxer owners that are members. This evolving support is part of what makes membership valuable. Which brings us to membership. Half of the space is a members only garage which is available by signing up for one of a few membership tiers. Dues vary with access: higher tiers cost more and give you more time to make use if the garage space, use the wide assortment of shop tools, and in a few cases give access to specialized machinery. Classes that are made available to the public are offered to members at a discounted rate. It's common for 2-3 different projects being worked on, and collaboration is natural. The DC moto scene is small but welcoming, and Dunn Lewis is definitely a good place to connect. They offer events and rides that are available for anyone, and it would be hard not to get involved with DC moto clubs like dirt church if you hang around the shop. Mason and Laurel who run the shop are always available for tips on what's happening around the city and are a huge part of what make DLMC worth supporting. There's also great food and bars on the same block. Worth mentioning. As far as what could be better: it's a new space and features are growing. So if it doesn't have everything you need, you might have to wait for them to bring it in. But you only need to make the suggestion and it's something you'll probably see in the future. I called several shops, none of which could promise the repair work within a reasonable period of time (2 weeks). Cost was not a factor as the repairs were covered by my insurance company. Levon was very straightforward in estimating the time required, which would be hard to determine before removing the door and viewing the frame damage, which turned out to be considerable. The repairs were still completed in a little more than 2 weeks. The quality of the work was excellent, and Levon provided excellent service in driving me to and from the Rockville library, when I had to wait a couple of hours for some minor follow-on repair. I would not hesitate to use his shop again should the need arise.

Not only did Levon give me an estimate during my lunch hour, he was able to do the job the next day. What really blew me away was that I added in a custom headlight replacement to swap out my dim and aging bulbs that were borderline dangerous at night and polished the haze off the headlight lenses. He replaced a few other market bulbs as well at no charge. Fast service and quality work at a fair price. Will definitely be going back to Obsession for any other auto customizations. Recommended all the way.
