Instead of a welcoming response, I was told air wasn't free because it uses electricity, and I'd have to pay $5. This caught me off guard, especially since there's a gas station right across the street offering air for $1. The situation escalated quickly and unnecessarily. I was insulted and cursed at, and when I hesitated at the price, the owner shut the garage door on my shoulder. It became even more uncomfortable when he raised his hands as if to fight and threatened to call his son to harm me. At that point, and as a military veteran and current paid firefighter, I chose to walk away rather than escalate things further. I understand businesses need to make money, but there's a way to treat people--especially potential long-term customers. Unfortunately, this experience was hostile, unprofessional, and disappointing. For years, my family and I have been harassed by strange women and men in Essex County, NJ. My conclusion: People think I am anti-Italian, which is ridiculous. My parents were/are Italian-American. My mother was lovely and a wonderful parent. Her family was like a Big Hug. Because of sick/crazed women (and men), I have been bullied and harassed with intent for years. I have been called names; women have cited my body to me in a perjorative tone. I have had to file police reports about these strange/sick women harassing me. I have gone to restaurants and other establishment where strangers have gone out of their way to talk about their Italian heritage and/or relatives near me. Great! I love Italian food and Italian culture! Please don't feel compelled to mention Italian food/culture around me to offend me. I love it all. This is what happened as I waited for my husband to pick me up after I dropped off my car. An employee also spelled my name wrong and said something to the effect of, "Of course, that makes sense." And after he got my car model wrong (a co-worker corrected him with the right car model I brought in to get serviced.) It saddens me that I felt so uncomfortable. The team seems knowledgeable and experienced. My husband has volunteered to take my car to Fix N Fuel after my most recent experience with folks.

I ended up changing the transmission cooler because I noticed it only struggled to get in gear when hot. Anyways two years later same Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same trans and it shifts perfect and is still going. Maybe it was an honest mistake, what annoys me more is they performed a trans service without my permission, and when they did they striped 3 of the bolts on the pan, I am sure they used an impact gun. The pan leaks now. I don't live in NJ anymore, but I know the shop as it has been there for years. I just wanted to take the time out to write this as I thought it could be useful to others looking to get a diagnosis.
